It really is best to use glass kitchen ware (or silicone) while making "kettle popcorns" in the microwave. When making popcorn in the microwave the temperature of dishes seems to turns unbelievably hot compared to anything else, maybe because of small mass of the kernels. The ordinary plastic which is ok when used in microwave otherwise, may suffer. And yes, this is voice of experience you are hearing. X)
