I think #4 depends on the person's collection. If someone has a smaller collection or just starting out then I would agree 3 mid tier > 1 hype. However if someone has a bigger/more mature collection than I would say that it's okay for someone to take the the 1 hype/grail shoe over volume. Once your collection grows to a certain point you start running out of days in the rotation to wear everything.

As a broke gang, when it comes to socks and sneakers, just wear what you have lol 😂😂😂

I agree with these guys. except for rule # 1 & 5. i disagree with rule #1 coz for me anyone of us can wear any brand we want as long as we're comfortable with the outfit. And most of us are not sponsored by these brands so why would we need to wear just one specific brand from head to toe. As long as it looks good to your outfit why not wearing it. I really hate brand wars. And with #5 for me wearing black pants are effin good with white sneakers. It looks dope for me. and tbh it looks neat at the same time. So yeah that's my own POV. we have different kinds of ideas so I respect their perspective when it comes to theses rules. But of course you guys need to respect mine too. 😊

i'm super new to sneakers ( and fashion in general) . I'm still trying to learn who, what, where, when, how, etc when it comes to footwear. Things like what brands are good, which are bad, what's a fad vs what's an 'investment', all that jazz. As it stands , and again i'm super new here ( like I only have a pair of doc martens and 2 pairs of vans). I am heavily leaning towards just buying what speaks to me. I get the clout and all, but at the end of the day, you have to pay good money for the shoes, don't buy em if you wont wear and enjoy them. I'm eyeballing a pair of Nike Dunk low retro's which I hear are kinda played out but frankly I don't care, it just spoke to me. My point being, that some of us are new, I appreciate the information from a non judgemental point of view. Anyhow, enough rambling, Just wanted to say thank you and your information gives food for thought.

On rule #1, mean I bought the shoes, I'll do what I want with em. Another thing is I never understood the whole clout aspect of having Jordan's at all. They're cool shoes, just got a pair to just use for cool outfit ideas but that's all. Its a shoe to me, and doesn't bother me if I crease 'em either. Its insane on how their value skyrockets on em too. Looks to me they're designed to be in a box on display only and not to be ever worn which I never understood.

Actually, for rule #1 I think the vans old skool’s can pull off the bar lacing a little bit. I have mine with the bar laces and I think it looks good. Particularly as they’re the black & white checkered ones, the bars kinda add to that pattern.

i could agree with #1 when it comes to high top shoes, but i personally like bar lacing on low top shoes

Not every sneaker dies off. I’ve been wanting to get the AJ1’s Shadows but they’re still $400+. Although these 2.0’s that are coming out Saturday aren’t as cool as the 2018 Shadows, i hope i can still cop them.

I agree with all rules except for 1, and 5. Straight lacing keeps some shoes fitting properly, and white shoes with black pants isn't that bad because both are neutral colors.

I look at it like this rock whatever you like and how you want to as long as it's not degrading yourself and offensive to others. Now i will say the bar lacing is off when it comes to certain kicks but some it works for.
