@@ericsohn5084 it’s not the same, anyone can hire someone to clean whatever they want, it’s about actually putting the time and effort to get sth done, and way too many men simply leave the bathroom super dirty and stinky. It’s more like a sense of responsibility and hygiene, so instead of leaving the mess for someone else, he takes the responsibility and does a good job

My husband is the same haha. His cleaning standards are really high. Remember Korean men go to the military so lots are really disciplined.

I think it’s the husband’s ancestors, so if they want memorial services, the burden should be on him. She should help but the responsibility should not fall on her. I’m from a culture that does memorial services, but we don’t take it that seriously (my parents don’t expect me to do it)

Why does he have to understand something ridiculous culture which makes even Korean women not want to get married. Bad culture should be finished. that's why many Korean women don't want to get married.

​@@ranniesdexactly. My husband's family do memorial service while mine don't (different religion). We have never talked about it before marriage (simply because i'm unaware of the practice) so when his mum sprung it on us, i let him handle it. If he wants to do it, it'll be his responsibility, i'd probably help, but he's the one who has to take charge if he wants it to happen. Since he's too lazy to arrange one, it simply never happened 😂😂 And thankfully my husband is wise enough to said to his family that he's the one who doesn't want to do it (so the in laws never has problems with me).

nah, she clearly has an accent and makes a few mistakes. but yea her korean is much better than most foreigners', it *is* impressive

I think she does a lot to respect Korean culture. Besides, it's much more rare to see respect for the foreign culture in these scenarios.

If I were in her place, I wouldn’t do it either not because it’s a lot to prepare but because it conflicts with my faith (Christianity) maybe it’s the same for her

My husband still pays respect to his ancestors..am a Christian I don't believe in this..We make it simple we buy side dishes and fruits then make one soup..Thats it. She should discuss with her husband and find a way out

@@jeddymoon3803 I grew up in a culture that worships ancestors, but I don't routinely practice the rituals. However, I see it as a way to memorialize the things your ancestors have gone through and did to bring their descendants to where they are now. Like recognizing the work they did to ensure the family lineage persists in a hard world. I'll occasionally pray to my ancestors and "ask" them to give me strength to go through life in the same way that they were able to persevere and make it. Even if I don't know them myself, they were once important people to others in the family line and helped shape values that were passed down through generations. (Though I understand customs are just different and we should be free to practice our own beliefs!)

Plenty of couples choose not to have children and are perfectly content and happy. Having kids isnt the sole reason or even a reason at all for some to get married.
