Really wish your channel was more popular within the “pet RU-vid” world lol. Your educational, you put lots of effort into your content and take time to upload regularly. I appreciate your effort into just educating people instead of showing off how many animals you have or “what’s new” you just show others how to take care of things they already have!

Honestly, as a beginner I would love a video on stuff we shouldn't use even though it says for reptiles. Of course we should do our research but a video would be nice because it's all put into one source.

I actually convinced my parents to let me get a snake!!!! I’ve been watching a bunch of your videos and doing a lot of research and I’m very excited!!

I have a one year old snapping turtle and something in her tank fell and I went to go fix it and she bite me! It didn't hurt at all I was just in shock cause she was across the tank and she popped up out of no where and bite me LOL

I can remember my friend came round and I was cleaning my leopard gecko and she dropped the hide so until I could get out to the reptile store I used a cereal box and my leo loved it

Great video. Fun facts, but number one fact is research them before... You could be where i was and had to read books for any information or wait till the crocodile hunter came on tv so you could subscribe to the magazine. Okay now im just making myself feel old lol.

Mine was that snakes just sneeze sometimes. The first time my BP sneezed I freaked out and brought her to work with me (I work at a veterinary clinic). She checked out well- and now I realize that every so often she'll snort, sniff, or sneeze randomly before sheds or after eating.

Once again great video! The part about your pet's food being more work than you originally thought is SOOO TRUE!! Especially if your new to a certain species of insect or any other feeders that a new pet eats. I also agree completely about the zoo-med heat mats, they're great 👍

What I wish I'd known before getting turtles: I wish that I'd known I was getting turtles. (My boyfriend's mom brought two yellow bellied sliders back from her vacation in Florida. She didn't give any warning, she just brought two baby turtles home in a tiny critter carrier. I had absolutely no warning and no supplies except a couple little packets of food pellets. But thanks to internet research the turtles are thriving and healthy. I didn't want them, but I love them.)

I know this is an old video but I've recently found your channel and have been binge watching all your content in preparation for getting my own blue tongue or beardy next year. Would it be possible for you to do a video on products you DO recommend and a separate one for stuff you would advise people to stay away from? I remember one video you said you had bulbs go out with one brand way more than another brand, but I don't remember which video that was. I'd love to see a list of products you recommend and your own experiences with them. I enjoyed your cage(tank?) reviews and watching you build them gave me a good idea of what to expect.

You are the best reptile expert I know of. I have two fence lizards and you helped me through the way. Even though you have never done a fence lizard setup you taught me to use a heating pad. You are the best and you have turned the pets mart and petco too dirt. You have great content.i agree with your ideas and your care for the herps.

Glad you added the part about bites not being that bad but should be avoided. Like you said its easy avoiding bites usually there is a slight or major body language change before any animal bites. Like my water dragon has never bit me. Its anticipated it by pointing its nose right at my finger like food and i move it out of the way. Usually that means hes hungry or wants a water change though :)

something i didnt necessarily WISH i knew before getting a reptile, but i had no idea how much owning one and looking after one would benefit me. my leopard gecko has improved my life so much, it makes me so happy to look after him and get to know him! i had no idea just how much personality such a little creature could have

Today I got my first snake, it's a baby cornsnake and it's scared of people. He always stays under the ground. He will be tame soon and not be under the ground probably. He doesn't stay in his habba hut at all. He usually is under the bedding or in the plastic plant. He still has no name. I really like him. :D

Ts definitely prepped me for the strange behavior. When I got my first T (a tiny 3/4" sling), she buried herself and didn't eat for 6 months. Now she only goes off feed during pre-molt.

I have such terrible luck with heaters, it doesn't matter if it is a reptile heater or a fish heater, I have horrible luck with all heaters. I get the main brand ones but they end up breaking after a couple of weeks all of the time, it has gotten to the point where I don't even own heaters, I just keep my room around 80 during the day and 70 at night.

One thing I wish I knew: you're always gonna want to upgrade your animals enclosure. Even if you think you just setup the best one, you'll find some other cool and better looking setup online and want to recreate something similar. So include all those costs to rebuild and rebuild and rebuild. New facts regarding reptile care come up all the time and you're always going to want the next best thing for your scaly friends

I have a Pastel ball python....I adopted her off a rummage sale fb page( I couldn't believe her owner posted her there,I wasn't looking to adopt a snake but I also didn't want her to fall in the hands of someone who wouldn't care for her properly ( if that makes any sense) after adopting Lillth for my fiancee ( huge snake lover) ...he got the I need more snakes bug....so he purchased 2 Oragon red spotted garter snakes ( one is blue phase) Juliet is almost 2 and Sapphire is almost 4 (according to the breeder he bought them from six months ago) they were eating like champs every weak Juliet would eat a frozen fuzzy ... Sapphire would eat a frozen hopper and he would give them worms or fish for a snack mid weak....all of a sudden three weeks ago they stopped eating everything offered to them...I told my fience to contact the breeder he bought them from ....the breeder told him to keep the temp of the tank this time of year( mid Winter in Pennsylvania the breeder was in New Jersey)to 80 or above...that was last week... we upped the temp or the tank by putting aluminum foil on the screen lid of the tank which worked well and the heat lamp ( they are both together in a 55g tank as per the breeders ok to cohabitate them) when in your opinion to you think they will start eating again and should we be worried yet?....he was considering putting them in hibernation ...I told him not to do that untill he talked to the breeder about it ....our python Lillth is eating like a champ with no issues...the garters are the only ones that stopped eating.....your thoughts?

One thing I wish I knew was that some animals take a little to get used to their new environment and start eating I was a bit worried when my leo wasn’t eating and turns out she was fine, just nervous :,)

out of all the dozens of wild snakes ive caught only one ever bit me, and i have to say i wouldnt even had known if i didnt have a couple pin pricks of blood. 3 foot long snake and no pain at all XD yet i still jump every time my baby hog tries to head butt me

Well i Got an fish tank i know pretty much about fishies i love Them but i Think ill need an more social pet before getting a fish you need an special size aquarium like 20 galleons 100 galleons but i dont know a Peep about reptiles just they’re pretty cute

every zilla thermostat ive bought have broken... and when i message and get a replacement... theyve also broken... whats a good thermostat to buy? also how do you keep your plants alive?!? i mist daily and stick my finger in the soil usually to find it dry so i end up watering on mondays... but the ferns are all dry and crispy

I know I’m late but, Misters/sprayers marketed towards reptiles are garbage, just go to a hardware store and buy one of the bigger sprayers with the hose. (Just remember to depressurize it after using)

I really want a ball python and have done all of my research, including where it will go how it will be cared for etc. However my parents are very against it. I have seen cases where the parents are the same yet they where able to get one. Please could you help me get around this problem with my parents as i am desperate for a Ball python. My mother no matter how many times I explain she’s constantly calling ball pythons boa constrictors... I mention getting a ball python ONCE and she’s like “nO nO bItInG SnEkS eVeR!” I explain that dogs bite, cats bite, people bite, everything with a mouth can bite and she still is like “nuuuuu” and I’m like well... your not gonna deal with it so what’s the issue? I’ll be paying for it, getting and replacing equipment etc and she kind of let up there

probably the only snake that ive been bitten by that i would ever worry about is a king snake. it decided it wanted to eat me and wouldnt let go of my finger. it cut off the circulation to my finger through a leather glove

I will say that when my Ball Python bit me, he hung on and it *really, really hurt*. To be fair, I was in . . . eighth grade, I think? Still though, constrictors have nasty little needles. You can run their head under some water or a little bit of alcohol to get them to release, though.

Any good names for my corn snake? Im getting him in 2 days. EDIT: Already got my snake and hes unnamed.

One tip if you are bitten by a snake and it wont let go is to put a tiny bit of whiskey into their mouths. By a tiny bit I mean like a drop or two. Snakes don't like the taste and will let go. But you need to use whiskey as it because other types are not safe for them.

Having raised rabbits and chickens/quail/guineas for about six years, lamps and bulbs and heaters will die just when you need them the most and then you end up getting that box of chicks in February that you forgot you ordered back in October and oh yeah the heat reflector crapped out back in November. That’s my least favorite part of the hobby, heat lamps! I’ve been moving away from them with my poultry, but now I’m back to them with reptiles so go figure!

And what should I do if my leopard geecko won't eat dusted insects but eats the ones without the dusting? I leave a bowl of calcium in his tank I just don't know he is getting it
