Great video.But remember that, even if you do all these things, it will not matter if you still are anxious. Anxiety can also come about, or be perpetuated by, when you think of all the things you have to do to perform your best. Sometimes its good to let go of the things you cannot control and make peace with doing your best in the situation you are in. This attitude needs to go hand in hand with having a good preparation list like the one demonstrated in this video. Its like those people that believe in using technology to monitor your sleep -- it can be just as much a problem and give you more things to worry about, making you sleep worse.

Good Thoughts I can agree with that! To find a place where you are at peace with whatever outcome but willing to give your best is a good place.

I go through weeks of "preparation" as If I was a professional boxer in training, most of the time I get to the tournament I still play like crap...lol! But, at least I give "my best effort" and I feel like I tried to do as well as I could sometimes the plan gets broken up with Injuries like right now.

Nice video. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to come back to full form in table tennis after a significant break from the sport, maybe a week with an injury or a family vacation.
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT Год назад
That’s a great topic and one that is difficult for sure! I think for me it’s knowing your game and what you do that works and just getting back in practice with those things? For example for me it backhand flip work, taking the ball early when I loop with fh taking the ball early when they push short, dialing in my long pushes against all serve variations. And getting the feeling for my forehand flip. Among a few other things I think those really cover my game well. Also staying in good physical form that’s probably one of the biggest if you are substantially weaker it makes it very very hard to play like you know you can.

Hello Seth. Thank you for another great video. Super points! Apart from the 5 points covered, I was wondering about your fitness routine. What is your physical regime? It will be great to see a full video on this topic. Have a blessed week ahead and thank you again for sharing all your insights and learnings.

Tbh I do a bit of everything right now I’ve been cross training in martial arts and that’s been awesome to gain more balance, power and overall body awareness. I like to bike for my heart health because I beat up on my knees quite a bit. When I do go to the gym I work the whole body trying to strengthen everything. I also don’t like to be too big with muscles because I feel it makes me slow. There’s a good ratio and most top players have that ratio it’s pretty lean. I like to do sprints and jumping exercises to improve my explosiveness in my legs.

Thanks Seth for the tips. Your videos are always high production quality. Thanks for the effort you put in. One question. Sometimes during the start of the match, I notice that my ball toss when serving goes all over the place (I have high ball toss). Any way to remedy it
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT Год назад
Thats a tough one, I guess it comes down to what you feel is throwing it off. its hard for me to figure out how to improve your toss without seeing it, but what you can do is take a look at other high toss players online and try to see where you are not doing exactly what they are doing, the technique they use will produce a consistent toss. look at the body does it stay still the arm is is moving independently of the body or does it move together until a certain point, how is their arm follow through does it stop or does it continue upwards in the desired direction they want to ball to go. is their arm strait out or is there a bend when they start. these are some examples of things you can look and try to copy. hope that helps

@@PechPongTT thanks for taking the time out and giving such a detailed reply. I will checkout Samsonov and Calderano who has a relatively high toss. Thanks once again. Look forward to your next video.

A mistake I did was to look up the strength of the player. I always looked up the tabletennis-ratingpoints of my opponents and got scared when I saw them. This made me play a match with the mindset: "he is so much better then me, I can't win anyways". So my advice is, don't look up the strength of the players and just play your best at every match.
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT Год назад
That’s great advice! I do the same, I don’t look at the ratings anymore before I play

Thanks for sharing - some really nice tips! I am fairly new to playing league matches personally. But something I have seen a number of people struggle with is mental distractions. I have seen people get into big arguments over a single point or something that annoyed them and watched this diversion in focus sabotage the outcome. In every instance, the person feeling the most aggrieved lost. This happened to me yesterday. Do you have any tips on this?
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT Год назад
Really tough! I would suggest to postpone feelings until after the match, because they have to be managed at some point during the match is a hard time to resolve them so I try to postpone them and focus on the match as much as I can.

@@PechPongTT im sorry for asking about equipment again, as a pro what actually you're looking in a blade? May i have your opinion as a pro to balance between offense vs defense? As an intermediate player, I'm always confused choosing between inner vs outer carbon blade and harder (koto) vs softer (limba) outer veneer, since i feel so much safer with inner carbon blade but feel lack of power to finish an opponent, but the otherwise when using outer i got more power but feel so much vulnerable when opponent attack. so should we keep trying to control the outer or increase consistency with inner blade until we overcome the opponent? If I'm not mistaken Tibhar VS Unlimited consist of limba outer veneer, what do you think about that pros and cons with viscaria with koto outer veneer? Big Thanks Seth!
