This video should be recommended to beginners - I wish I’d had info like this when I started... IMO your tips are spot on, based on my own 11 yrs in the hobby. The only thing I can’t seem to manage is finding a relatively local reefing buddy though I might be getting close. Great video! 👍🏻
I'm with you. Nuclear warfare is asking for issues. I tried to battle bryopsis for quite awhile and had to use fluconazole. Was nervous, but worked great. Other than that, slow and steady!
Thanks Rich… chemicals do have their place in especially for bryposis. My buddy had bryposis in his system but we managed to catch it early and removed the rock it was on before it spread

@@TheBioReef I found that Reef Physics and Chemistry have been studied a lot and we have solutions from manufacturing about these 2. However Reef Biology beyond nitrogen cycling hasn't been explored extensively. Hoping this something that would help hobbiest from experiencing coral mortality, stunted growth and even having the best coloration in tank.
15 power outages? How much outages was caused by you power supplier? I cannot remember the last power outage from my supplier. We had only one announced power outage for some hours. Where do you live? California?
@@TheBioReef But even in 5.5 years it is a lot. I live in Bavaria for 10 years and had one announced outage for some hours. A lot of power cable are laid safe in the ground. Certainly Canada is a big country with a lot remoted communities which need a lot infrastructure for supply and redundancy. Anyway, instead you have more space to live and wide nature 😊
:) underground power cables would be nice... We had an ice storm a few years back that knocked down a very large number of trees and powerlines leaving us with no power for a few days... i didn't have a reef tank then. planning to get a generator for the new build

Hi cold logic. Actually - I had a tank full of Acropora at 3 years. I got bored with the scape that I reaquascaped my tank and started with 1” frags again about a year and a half ago :) I appreciate your concern though.
