Passed my test today with 0 minors. Thank you so much Richard, your videos saved me so much time and money on lessons, wish I could thank you in person. You are appreciated
@@natw5040 i was nervous at the start obviously but after like the first 10 mins or so u get used to it. And it’s really not as difficult as u may think it is as long as you’re confident and you u know what ur doing you’ll be fine. Good luck 🤞
The big main tip is CONTROL YOUR NERVES you can be an amazing driver and know everything perfectly and do it well however test day is a stress Inducer and you can do silly things when under so much stress and pressure!
@@ConquerDriving happened to me made me very sad but I know my ability but I got big nerves and I messed up by doing early observations at a roundabout by the time I went the car was closer to me and it had to slow down the tiniest bit and that was a major
Yes this was the reason I failed i was thinking too much about how long I would have to wait if I fail and that made me more stressed bc I knew I would have to wait atleast 5 months if I fail so there was a lot of pressure 😭
I passed my test a year ago and only bought my first car a week ago after working hard for the last 4 months. The best advice I could give to someone is to relax because the test was honestly 100 times easier than ANY of my driving lessons in terms of pressure. It was so easy that my confidence immediately came back after leaving the test centre and I was doing everything the driving examiner asked for. In the end, the biggest challenge is yourself - anxiety and nerves. Everything will come naturally to you in the ~45 minutes you will have to be examined.
I passed my driving test first time yesterday with 4 minors!! I have been watching your videos and found them so useful. Thank you so much for your great content :)
I passes my test 2 days ago in first attempt and I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you Richard as watching your videos helped fortify learnings from my lessons. 😊 Guys, I would definitely recommend watching how to calm your nerves during test on this channel that will definitely help you. My tip would be to just think of the examiner as your instructor and drive safely but don’t do anything different to try and impress the examiner. Honestly, 40mins fly by so stay calm, don’t rush any decisions but do keep up with the speed limit when possible and try and enjoy the drive.
Passed my test with 3 minors thanks to you. I thought I was done for but it really helps knowing the examiner is not out to get you. She was actually really helpful and told me to pick up the pacd
Hello Richard, I hope you are well. I've been one of your silent viewers here for almost a year now, even before I had clicked the subscribe button, I always visit your channel everyday and watch your videos🥰. Today I have just passed my driving test (first attempt with only 1 minor fault). I am still overwhelmed with joy and excitement as I type this message (it would probably take me a week or so to calm down 😁). I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, as your videos, along with my instructors tremendous help and support as well, have helped me towards my driving test success today! Bless you a million times and thank you so, so much! 🥰🍾🥂🎉🏅🚘 xx
I was a driving instructor, am an advanced motorist with an HGV2 licence and had high speed emergency training. I have attended scores of Road traffic accidents (RTCs). I have witnessed the carnage caused by bad driving. I afraid the current system only teaches people to pass the test,; mainly academic. Learner drivers are not normally taught how to drive. When I was an instructor I remember many occasions a pupil wishing to take their test and me thinking ‘This person should never hold a full licence because they don’t understand the principles of driving’. Driving is an art and skill that many folk will never achieve. The driving test should be the same as the advanced test at minimum. If you ever wonder why there are so many accidents on our roads it is because of lack of proper instruction. Remember, this video is about passing the driving test, not about driving correctly and safely. Oh, one last thing, if a student drove like an experienced, skilled driver I know that most would fail , it has happened.
Mr. Richard! I’ve just passed my exam with a couple of minors. I’ve learn everything and all only from your channel! You’re the best instructor people could ever imagine to have! Thank you very much!!!!!
Best 2 tips that helped pass last year was: 1) deal with the task at hand, one junction at a time 2) you can always try again. Even if I fail, I can just do it again, it's not live or die.
The one tip I can give you is to not stress about your test I passed 16th of November thinking it was gonna be super hard but was the easiest thing ever. They say the test lasts about 38 mins but felt like 5 minutes. Before you know it your back at the test centre
Congratulations! I have a question if you don't mind me asking: my driving instructor is super nice, but also super picky and makes me feel like I'm not a good enough driver, I have my test next Monday. Do you think the examiners are super picky? Thank you in advance!! 🙏🏾
@@maryigbinosax__4878 my instructor was quite strict aswell but she was just trying to burn what I gotta do when on test into my head so I don't mess it up, so when you come to test it's like muscle memory and you pass. But most examiners are pretty good as long as your a safe driver and they can see that your not going to be a risk to other drivers they are pretty chill as its your life and others that can be affected if they give a license to a unsafe driver. But when on test don't think about it just drive like you've been taught, I completely forgot I was on test I just spent the hole time talking to my examiner. Just keep checking mirrors that's the main one 👌
@@maryigbinosax__4878 mine was too but its way easier that way and will make ur test easier imo, if ur lessons harder than test and thats all you hvae been doing test will be ezpz
Hi, I passed my exam yesterday first time. I was really scared and your videos actually helped a lot 🙏 appreciate the videos that you’re doing and I wish all the best to people who has exams coming up. Don’t worry, you’ll pass! 💪
I got mine coming up in 4 days and I have been watching Richard videos and most people who watch it pass, so am telling myself that am one of them too that will pass first time!!!!
Found you rather late but your videos have been so useful. I mean practise makes perfect for sure but your videos gave me a good idea of how to deal with different roads, junctions and so on. Didn’t drive for 2 weeks as learner and spending a lot of time here clearly helped as I felt much more comfortable. Really appreciate the tips!
Holy cow! Passed my driving test yesterday here in Denmark. Your videos have helped me a ton. They are all very useful, concise, to the point and you've covered a lot of the areas of driving that are essential to know and exercise. You've honestly been my second driving instructor and I hope your channel grows well. Thank you from Denmark :) Looking forward to keep improving my driving!
Thanks for the time and effort that you put into these videos Richard. I took passed my test today on the first attempt, with only 2 minors thanks to your videos. Good luck to all who have a test coming up. I'm rooting for you!
I've been driving for just over 2 years now and whenever i make a small error i still always end up reflecting at the end of the day and state that being more chilled out and not rushing will make me more observant. The next day it works.
Passed my driving test just over a month ago and I feel more confident that I've ever been behind the wheel. I still find it useful to watch these kinds of videos to help refine my driving as I get more experienced. Keep up the good work!
Passed my manual driving test today with no faults. Watched this video last night and followed it to the tee, it is perfect! All your videos helped me so much more than any driving instructor! God bless you Richard, you are amazing, keep up the great work.
If you approach junctions more slowly you have more time to decide and plan an opportunity so you're lwss likely to stop. Also when learning, if you do things slowly you will learn more quickly with less stress.
Just wanted to say thank you for such amazing videos. I've passed my test last Saturday with 5 minors!!! Though I had a driving licence years ago in my home country I was really worried about the bad habits I've acquire overtime and driving on the other side but watching your videos make me feel really confident and gave me some great tips to make things easier like parking. Thanks again.
Thank you for all the good tips, you helped more than my instructor in driving and prepping for my test. I have passed my driving for the first try with two minors only! :)
don't forget clearance!!!!! I failed my driving test on clearance (too close on parked cars) !!!! I got 1 minor and 1 serious..... I was gutted, shattered my ego ngl i was a very confident driver before. I still am, just not as much.
@@Yusuf2 bro I got taught by my dad on country roads so im really good at fitting through tight gaps. just that the driving examiners hate when you do that so its just a bad habit
Had my driving test today, didn't fail, and I didnt pass. Drove into the test centre car park, got my mask on, got my provisional and my theory certificate, waited to be called, got called, filled out the insurance and lived in the in the uk for 185 days check boxes, signed it, then the examiner told me that because i had driven into the test centre car park without my mask on he wasnt allowed to do the exam with me as they changed the rules last Tuesday. So I paid £63 for the test, paid the instructor £80 for the test (he gave me that back after we got turned away, he's a really top guy) had to take the morning off of college all to be told that if id put my mask on 30 seconds earlier it would have gone ahead. Driving instructor the spent the next 15 minutes argueing with them because he hadn't been told that i had to wear a mask before arriving at the test centre, came to nothing. The drive home from the test centre is the worst ive ever driven, i was driving back smouldering in my seat, taught me to not drive when angry.
That's the first time I've heard of someone being refused a test for arriving without their mask on. They could simply ask you to put a mask on. It is like they're punishing you for not wearing one. It is not their place to deal out punishment. I would make a formal complaint if I was you.
@@ConquerDriving yeah, they turned another girl away for the same thing, erith test centre. On the formal complaint however, i dont know how I'd stand, in my mind he has seen an excuse to have a long breakfast, but his excuse for not examining me is him catching me breaking covid rules as last tuesday they said masks in cars with examiners. In a court of law they would say "Ignorantia juris non excusat" which just means not knowing of a law does not excuse you from breaking it, so then in that scenario who's in trouble? Me or the instructor depending on whether they consider it his responsibility to ensure that the minor in his car is masked, or they consider it my responsibility to cover my face. The examiner might have a sturdy leg to stand on? What do you think? Should I still complain?
US viewer here. Thanks to your videos, I was able to drive a manual while I was traveling in Europe! Only stalled a couple times but I think I “passed” the test for manual! Looking forward to driving a manual again!
Passed my test today! All your videos were an incredible help throughout my learning experience . Watched this last video last night and it really helped calm my nerves . Thank you for the incredible content! 😁
Hi Richard, hope all is well. Just would like to thank you for all the excellent content you provide. You've definitely helped to improve my driving and you're making a difference to many other drivers. You're a great teacher and your videos are very easy to understand and very well explained. You deserve every success and I'm glad that people recognise what great information you put out. That's why you're now a global teacher, not just for the Colchester area! Wishing you all the best, Zach
Quite nice to know I already do most of these with a week to go before my test. Though, that one about watching giveaway lines as you approach is good, I've just been judging it subconsciously. Overall, I'm not nervous, my instructor says I'm ready, as far as I can tell I'm ready. 🤞
I got my test on Friday and I cannot explain the anxiety, I literally just want to cry and change my test but at the same time I want to do it! I have been practicing a lot and the videos are helping me so much!
Yeh I know you literally just have to control your nerves and you’ll pass because that’s what makes or breaks the test day, be patient don’t rush and after 5 mins you should feel more relaxed
Great tips. Unfortunately some driver instructors let you drive a hundreds and hundreds of lessons and we keep paying alot of money but they never say you are ready for the test.🤷🏿♀️What should one do?
My biggest tip to anyone is don't tell anyone about your test and just go and do it. I told a lot of people about my first test and failed. The added pressure didn't help. Passed the second one two weeks later with 0 faults.
Bro i though you are like 25 or something but if you are teaching from 2009. i am probably wrong 😁 That is a compliment, and another one for great tips.
This has helped me greatly. Feeling more confident for my test tomorrow 😁. I’ve been watching lots of your videos each week, whilst learning, it has helped me develop greatly!
Richard, you are a top man. I literally found your videos yesterday evening, and followed everything you said in this video, and your clutch management one (is struggles consistently with this) - I passed today, first time, with just 3 minors! Your videos are informative, concise and humorous - thank you! Keep up the great work! 🙌🏿
Just passed last week on my 3rd, so happy. Still got loads of people who swear they can only pass so many per day. My boss told me it was good I had a morning test before the examiner used all their passes up. Sure that can't be true, it'd be ludicrous
I like the Bay parking, but I got a feeling I'll have to do a Parallel park. I actually nailed it first try however, then after couldn't seem to do it. Some Major Beginners luck lol.
I hadn't seen this upload which would have been great for extra prep, I gave up 10 years ago after failing twice but today I had my third driving test and passed with 1 minor fault, largely credited to the videos provided by you Richard. I personally was nervous due to expecting the test to be disorganised and lengthy, but your other video on what to expect in a test made it a whole lot easier.
Thank you for all of the effort and videos you make. Thanks to all your tips I passed with 0 minors. Your reverse parallel parking video contributed to my pass and I can’t thank you enough. Your videos are great!!
Just passed my test today with only two minors!! I’ve been binge watching ur videos for the past week before my test and they helped so much, especially in calming my nerves!!
Your videos are quality. I watched your driving test video and roundabout video before my test. I failed on my first attempt but managed to book another test a week after and passed on my second attempt. Your videos helped me a lot, a long with DGN driving videos. I would pay you some money if you had a patreon or something because you’ve basically saved me loads of cash from using an instructor. I just got a family member to go out with me in my own car and used RU-vid to practice driving
Thank you very much for your videos. I passed my test 1st time. Watching your videos really helped me build confidence. God bless Highly recommended 👌 👍
just wondering if at 1:35 you stayed in 2nd gear that whole time. I always find it frustrating in my instructor's diesel fiesta that it bogs and really starts chugging at 10mph in 2nd gear, anything below that requires 1st. it means a lot of right turns into side roads require 1st gear which is so much more awkward
Thank you for the tips Richard, I find with big roundabouts with lanes I do get a little overwhelmed with the gears, my first instict is to select 2nd as early as possible so I can concentrate on the road positioning and decisions, I worry I'll be able to go but not be in the right gear, would I be OK slowing down to an almost stop then selecting 1st to move off or could that be seen as hesitation? Cheers
That would be hesitation on an open roundabout but recommended on a closed roundabout/junction. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q8llvZla94Y.html
I was meant to have my practical in January but managed to rebook it for tomorrow morning, now im just watching all your videos to make sure I know everything, hopefully I'll pass, wish me luck.
I’ve got my test on the 17 and am so nervous regarding the Tell Me and show Me Questions. How many questions do they ask? And what kind of things do people fail the Test? Am doing Automatic☝🏽
it's one show me question while you're driving and one tell me before you set off! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42aDwWpyX-k.html - this video helped me learn the questions, but I'm not sure if some might be different in automatic!
It's one of each. The government website features a list of all possible questions. Tell me is asked before driving, and is generally about a safety function of the car. Checking steering, brakes, tyres and such. Show me is operating a control of the car, such as wipers, lights, and windows, and is asked while driving. I'm not sure on the tell me, but the show me is only a minor if you get it don't know.. If you don't know how to do what's asked, it's best to say so rather than trying to figure it out and risking losing control of the car.
I'm happy the videos helped. There has been a few people who have said that in the comments now. Goes to show you do the learning, the teacher can only help so much.
it's been 3 years I have been taking lesson still my instructor saying I am not ready but my family is like this guy is taking the piss just take the test so that's what I am doing
Just passed my test and it really wouldn't do not to post a comment with my heartfelt thanks. I get really nervous with tests, and as a consequence get overwhelmed and foggy in my mind about what to do when. Your videos with their clarity, well-thought-out-ness and cheerful confident vibe were wonderfully helpful to me. Big big thanks!
Not been instructing that long then. Bike, Truck and Bus working experience? Tip No1...Learn to hold and move the steering wheel properly. Basic, basic, basic.
