None of this worked, but thanks for providing some alternative ways that are not just "duh have you checked that you have a wifi-connection?" Ended up burying the chromecast in the flower bed outside but nice to see other people have worked the issue out.

I am not able to setup Chromecast. At the final step of the setup it keeps telling me to disable AP isolation on my wifi router which is already disabled. Still Chromecast would not connect. Is there a way out?

After trying all the suggestions, turns out the Chromecast can't handle my 15 character password - shortened it t 9 characters and worked.

Factory reset it & unplugged my wifi for 30 seconds. Didn't work. Literally the only thing that worked is restarting my phone. Hilarious.

A combination of uninstalling and re-installing Google home FIXED IT I HAVE A GENERATION 3RD CHROMECAST. Also restarting my phone. Airplane mode did not work turning on and off. Restarting router did not work. Factory reseting Chromecast did not work
