Passed ged maths today .Your videos helped a lot i saw atleast 5 . My suggestion to everyone always pause video at start of each question solve it your self and than see how she does it .
On the Acme Corporation graph, you have to add up all the bars to get your total. It won't come out right if you just take the highest number on the graph. Just the 44 -54 age group has 550 employees, so the total cannot be 600.
this video has many flaws,just the first question he used a different graph when working out the problem than the actual graph he showedin the question, the slope in the graph he worked with being 1/5 and the one in the question being 2/5 .....
on question 3. by looking at the given y intercept form you can tell right away what is the slope. the number beside x or the coefficient of x is the slope. This only work if the given equation is in y intercept form. save you a lot of time on the test.

13:30 - I think you made a mistake on question 6. In order to get the total employees, I believe you have to add up each bar. The y axis seems to be a range that doesn't represent the total. I think there are about 2,700 employees and 88k+ earners would make up 3.7 percent of them. I welcome any corrections if I'm wrong, but either way thanks for putting these out. Oh, also, I like the blocks of 50.
I started this video in my GED class tonight. I like the program and plan to work on the graph section in my next class. But, on slope problems where a graph is shown, like number 1, we find 2 points on the graph, then count the rise and the run. I think that on the first graph, you have a 5,7 point and then on the next slide it changes to a 5,6 point. When we used the first graph to count the rise and run between the points our answer was different than on the second graph.
@@crystalandbella5110 I watched people going over the ged math test for 2021. Literally went over 4-5 different videos that were 30 to an hour long, took notes on what they were saying and what questions to watch out for because half of it are trick questions.
Should've gotten to this stuff earlier, never had such great introduction to math in earlier years, but this seems to be helping alot so far! Hoping to get my GED done by new years!
The equation for problem#3 is already in y-intercept form: the coefficient in front of the "x" variable IS the slope of that line. There is no need to plot points to answer the question.

check #36 ... you might wanna have the all the numbers for the equation when you first ask the question, instead of adding them in when you start explaining how to solve it. it's happened several times but this one was the most noticeable.

For question 11, you circled the 20 and the 40 on the graph for where those points were. But they aren't exactly 20 nor 40. On the Ged am I safe to just round to the nearest number on the graph? For example Minn was about 14-16 but you just said it's 20.

Study word problems, inequities, graphic equations, equations with the substitution method, monomials, binomials and make sure you know shapes to calculate the area and volume. I got confused with that. If you are taking your calculator, take your book with you, the girl didn't want me to use mine "because it was too advanced" I showed her the book and she let me. On the first portion 7 questions no calculator allowed, sq. root, fraction division, addition. Whole numbers addition, adding numbers with exponents. One of each. I didn't got explained nothing, rules or timing, nothing. Just sat and started, that really blockme and for a moment I didn't know what to do, I panic and I thought I was going to fail. I was expecting to get explained how to do it. Good luck, I hope this helps you

i am sorry but the question is wrong, iaccording to the answer the question must say 20 percent their normal temperature and not 20 percent less than the normal temperature
I didn't show, it but you do add the b's so it would look like this: 4a-3b+4a+b+a+2b+a+b (then put all a´s together ) 4a+4a+a+a-3b+b+2b+b (now clean it up a little) 8a+2a-3b+4b = 10a+b
The coordinate is the point at which the x value and y value intersect or come together. So you go to the x axis (2) and follow it up to the point at which it intersects with the y value (7), that's the coordinate.
Best of luck to you Dorothy. Make sure you buy a GED ready test since they are the closest thing to the real test. Its also important you become familiar with the calculator, the whiteboard etc, and doing things under test taking situations. Good luck to you !
Naruto I recommend you take the GED ready test which is written by the people who write the real test. This will give you an idea of your current baseline and then you can decide if you are ready or not for the real thing. I think it will cost you $12
@@Steven-vi2oq that's great ! Its pretty reliable, and you have a good margin 10 points. Maybe just brush up on the topics you got wrong and go for it. I always tell students to give themselves a 10-15point margin because on test day you will be nervous, and when we are nervous we tend to make mistakes. Good luck !
I have a question on #16 I thought the area of the patio and grass wouldn’t that’s be 8+8+11+11=38 ? Same with the grass area? I’m a little confused on that one please help :(
Great question. You are getting confused with two different formulas. You are thinking of the PERIMETER of the patio , and in this case you are correct the perimeter of a rectangle would be 2(length + width) or 8 + 8 +11 + 11 as you said. The question asks you for the AREA of the patio. The formula for the area of a rectangle is width x length. Hope this makes sense

@@frb9652 not sure I understand. If you plug 468 in the calculator and hit the square root symbol you should get 21.6. (You can use the calculator for all the test except 5 questions). Also you mentioned you got the square root of 13 times six. The square root of 13= 3.06 x 6 = 21.6

Around 46 questions. There's 6 questions you may not use calculators , the rest you can. Make sure you check out the free tests on ged.com and look at the calculator, white board tutorials so you don't waste time on test day. Best of luck

Shouldn't the answer for 23 be 18.75 instead of 75? A Even if we decrease 75 by 20%, the result would be 60, not 15. All the other answers that were given are also wrong, since the numbers are all way too high
Probably go for the 50 and 25 quiz question videos. Also make sure you check out the free practice tests on GED.com or buy one if you can ($6) because that is the closest to the real thing. Best of luck
Check #26, is it x^2-5x-24 / x-8 ? or is it x^2+5x-24 / x-8?? because its 2 completely different answers and you kept changing the equation during your video.
Thank u for your effort. But making video to teach people is a responsibility. Mistakes are not tolerated. U did the percentage of the employee graph wrong. You are supposed to add the number of employees altogether but u used wrongfully the 600 hundred as the number of employees.
