Thanks for making the video, could you please tell me the name of the game your video showing ? the one starts in 14:13. I have been searching for it for long time with no success.
+Y. Maas It's Choplifter. It was released on many home computers and consoles in the early '80s. The MSX is a interesting computer. I think this is closer to what Coleco should have done rather than the ADAM.
Does anyone know this: during the game im looking for, you heard Mozarts turkish march during the whole game. It was a large game with stages above and next to eachother(1 'chamber' per screen). There was a river down the game. And there was also an elevator and you could collect stuff. The main character had also a weird haircut. Does anyone know what i mean? And on the river there floated a kind of a raft where you could jump on
MSX had such a great hardware compared to ZX yet the games are crap (compared to ZX)... even the music is crap! What a waste for such brilliant hardware
A bit stupid to answer this one year after the initial post, but MSX/Coleco/SV328 video architecture wasn't that great. It didn't have direct memory access or any possibility to HW scroll the screen. Four sprites per line limitation didn't help either. Important things for smooth games! Yet there is some gems out there, most Konami games work around the limitations and both look and play great.
