50 Things WRONG With Pokemon Ruby Sapphire and Emerald (Generation 3) 

My mistake on the Lopunny part and accidentally skipping number 28. I think I had too much of dat seaweed.

NOTE: This isn't meant to bash on the games, as you all know I love them. Just to take a look at some of the things I thought were the worst parts, along with a few jokes here and there! No offense, #hoennbabies

The pokemon rivals throughout the years. R/B:Douchebag. G/S: Bigger douchebag R/S:boring stalker. D/P: a bitch and an annoying douche. B/W: a clumsy bitch and a sort of badass. X/Y: a Justin beber, a fatzo, a pink nightmare, and a relatively normal person.

Male Gardevoirs? Well its Japanese name is Sirknight.

OBJECTION! Lopunny is from the Sinnoh Region (A.K.A Gen 4)

I think nobody noticed this and commented about this, but Lopunny is gen 4

Proves that even with a good game, all games still have issues.

Lopunny came to be in generation 4, not 3.

5.) Evasion/Accuracy was always a thing. Double Team has ALWAYS been TM 32 for Arceus sake. Not to mention Sand Attack, Flash (which I guess you don't know the other effect even though you know it existed as you mentioned it in regards to Rock Tunnel), Kinesis (Kadabra and Alakazam's signature move to date), Mud-Slap (this one is fairly obvious as well since it's the TM used and given by Faulkner in Gen 2, making it hard to hit him if you weren't using a Flying-Type and you got unlucky, not to mention it meant your best starter option was limited to Totodile since Pidgeotto had weaknesses for the others) and Smokescreen (Charmander line means it should be well known given most love it), and Octazooka (Octillery's signature move to date). They even gave us Sweet Scent as a TM in Gen 2 to counter it. You can't not know those stats existed in those games unless you have either never played them or did play them in a language you didn't speak and had no idea what was going on as a result. 9.) Opinion. I loved them and it's a shame the remakes aren't more like them. Not really an issue with either of the games though. 34.) Anything can be easily faked. The only real complaint to make there would be "They were so popular people wanted to make fakes and trick people out of their money." That's just humans being lying dicks as per usual, not a problem with the game. Unless you think being popular is a problem in which case you're either a hipster or want the series to die because not enough people are buying them. As for buying a knock off, you know how you avoid that? Buy them from a normal store. If you get one from there at least you can get your money back easily. 37.) Well, technically there was, you just didn't see it and it didn't affect anything beyond Eevee evolution/Berry growth. Also, rather hypocritical to complain about it when one of your Gen 2 complaints was that cycle doing so. If it's not going to affect encounters (these are basically their animals after all and just like our animals they have their own environments they're adapted to) why have that system at all? Just to note, you uploaded these to RU-vid, even if you didn't write them down or keep a copy, you could just go back and watch them to make sure you don't make such hypocritical mistakes. 38.) While part of the game is to trade, they don't stop you from buying more than one game and system so it's not really a problem with the game, but with you simply not doing so. My family was dirt poor until I was published at 15 (though, I didn't really have any sizable amount until more like 19 and it wasn't until 23 when I had enough to consider retiring and just playing games all day) but I've owned all the games and dozens of systems and my brother (who liked the series but not as much as me) had a system and the secondary versions as well. Saving, it's a wonderful thing. 48.) Gen 4, not Gen 3 and the dirty mind of people isn't something bad about the game, just a fact of life even if it were Gen 3. 49.) Pretty obvious it wasn't, not a problem with the game.

Why is Lopunny mentioned if its a 4th Gen Mon?

Evasion was born in Gen 1. It's just the Double Team use was too much used in G3. Even if Minimize was already used in Gens 1 and 2. In Pokémon Emerald you have enough doubles battles anyways.

But....Lopunny was introduced in Generation 4,not 3 ;-;

Am I the only one in this entire community that actually really *loved* the Pokémon contests? I spent hours in those things with Yena my Champion Mightyena. Yes, champion. I made him up perfectly and won every ribbon possible with him. I freaking loved those things.

Everyone is always going on about Wailord and skitty fucking. Not many people know that Wailord and DIGLETT can mate as well. And Diglett is MUCH smaller than a Skitty. Skitty's are 2ft tall, and 24lbs. Diglett is 8 INCHES tall, and 2lbs.

5: Evasions been a thing since gen 1, the fuck are you talking about?

Ok... Here are some points you done goofed up: 6. Evasion was there since Red and Green! Double Team and Minimize were NOT introduced in Ruby and Sapphire! 30. AND 31. Gardevoir's Japanese names are not as effeminate as the English ones. Gardevoir's Japanese name is Sirknight. And Kirlia being Male or Female is not a problem. What's wrong with a dude taking ballet? ABSO-F*CKING-LUTELY NOTHING! 50. Yeah, May TOTALLY doesn't have a personality or isn't a ditz or anything in the originals. Never really played as a girl so can't say too much about Brendan but May is a happy-go-lucky ditz in the originals. Plus, first game where your rival is the playable character with the gender you didn't pick. Also, no mention of the lack of return of moving sprites from Crystal? The breeding Mechanics problem you have is mostly fixed in Emerald but even in GSC it was pretty damn random what you got from the day care apart from the species. The moving sprites thing which I mentioned is also fixed in Emerald.

AWW YEAH You did Gen 3! Awesome! This was technically my favorite generation of games, as they had the best selection of Pokemon to choose from, but they did have problems. Like, if you didn't choose Mudkip as your starter, it was INCREDIBLY HARD to find another Pokemon that could learn Dive. And you NEED it to finish the game. Not to mention that if you did choose Mudkip, your Swampert was basically an HM dump because you inevitably taught it both Dive and Surf, and sometimes Strength, as well, because we all know that Strength and Body Slam have about the same power level, but Strength doesn't cause you to hurt yourself. Also, like in the other two games before it, the Grass type starter was inevitably the weakest. In this game, I almost invariably choose Mudkip as my starter because I'm not that fond of Treecko, and the one time I did play through the game with Torchic, after you beat Norman, it becomes basically useless because you're always Surfing and encountering Water types. It was part Fighting, so it didn't have an advantage in the Flying type gym, nor did it have an advantage in the Sootopolis gym. It's only technically good against Flannery because it isn't really affected by Fire type attacks and it can strike back with a good Slash. Oh, and the Mossdeep gym is Psychic, and the twin girls (I forget their names) use Psychic/Rock combos, so your Blaziken is pointless there, too. I've always found Swampert to be the best out of the Gen 3 starters because it's pretty solid. It's good against Roxanne when it's a Mudkip, and can hold its own against Brawly if trained properly. Evolve it into a Marshtomp, and it's part Ground type, so Wattson's toast. Flannery's gym is a no-brainer; use the water or ground aspect of Marshtomp to win. I've always been able to win against Norman in one go using Marshtomp. For Winona, you could teach it Rock Tomb or an Ice type move. Tate and Liza use part Rock types in their battle against you, so just Surf them to death. And then for the Sootopolis gym, it's strong against Water-type attacks, so just use Body Slam, Strength, or another Normal type attack and you can win easily.

Lopunny was Gen 4, but we all make mistakes :) Great video Brandon, loving your new content on this channel!

One problem I think it has is that you never get to see your rival' s starter evolution.

I was definitely thinking about the trumpet thing in the originals while playing ORAS, and they lost that, which I think kinda sucks because it had a really unique feel in the music

28. More Trumpets! The Lopunny part: Gradevoir instead

If you think Wally catching a shiny Ralts is bad, remember this: the Pokemon attacking the Professor can be shiny. And you have no Poke Balls to catch it. You have to faint it. Same with running through the grass delivering that package; you could run into a random shiny and either have to faint it out or run, as you couldn't buy any Balls to catch anything. And yes, I've seen a couple of YT vids showing this horror.

This video actually reminded me of how much I love the gen 3 games! I really like this series of 50 things wrong with gen... and I can tell that you don't mean harm by any of it, just for laughs

There's still a lot of surfing in the remakes, but at least they went to lengths to make it a lot less irritating than before...riding Sharpedo to make it faster (hell riding ANY pokemon is faster than it used to be), lowering the encounter rate, etc etc etc...I just noticed how much less annoying it was to get around.

51. If you see Shiny Pokemon in the Battle Pyramid, there's no way to catch it. This happened to me once, and no, I'll never get over it. 52. The Gym leaders get stronger as you rematch them, but the Elite Four and Champion don't for some reason. 53. Swampert is kind of OP because it has only one weakness and none of the Gym Leaders or Elite Four specialize in that type.

The only things that I actually found annoying were having to switch the bike and the contests. Great games overall.

Lopuny is gen 4 not gen 3

Generation 3 is totally my favorite gen. I don't understand how can people possibly like the other ones more. Like, really, this one is the most PERFECT. The graphics are smooth and imo the game looks better than gen 4 because the sprites are absurdly well made to fit into the graphics, the gameplay is almost perfect - they fixed most wrong things with the past generations and introduced new mechanics into the new gen that actually worked, almost everything in the game had a very friendly looking and easy to deal with interface/system, the games didn't have these annoying extra realistic animations that started to appear after gen 4 so it could have a very fast pacing depending on you and the gen 1 remakes, OH MY GOD DAT REMAKES

Agreed. Many people were quitting Pokémon with this gen (probably because we were getting into our teens). Heck, I only played this gen on an emulator.

My issues: 1 The entire volcanic area is a pain in the ass to get around on foot 2 your bag doesn't hold unlimited items 3 contests in gen 3 are terrible and make no sense whatsoever 4 you aren't guided as much; you can go the entire game not getting an exp share or not know where to get HMs/ other items 5 Team Aqua and Magma use THE SAME POKEMON for the most part 6 There's a whole fucking ocean and team aqua can only catch carvannah/sharpedo 7 Slakoth

3:25 The saddest and most truthful point. Every single friend of mine in 2003 started bashing the Pokemon games and gen 3, moving towards other anime and games such as Dragon Ball or GTA....Thankfully I kept on enjoying all the main series games with my brother up to gen 4.

In my opinion, pokemon contests are pretty ok! In the anime though, it is really a great idea! Gaining points, and the highest scores move on to second round, where they battle each other and reducing points.

I don't know if things changed in O/Ruby from the original, but in OR you need Castform to catch Thundurus/Tornadus. So it's not pointless in that case. :)

The secret bases were never a negative to the games.. they made trading and battling more interesting. I do agree they made way to many new pokemon with no evolutions

You forgot one thing: The battery ran dry! The game can be player however time based events will no longer occur!

Lets see... There was new Baby form evolutions from older games. Secret Bases really needed more to do in em and a bed that can be used to restore your team while you are in the middle of a route would have done wonders for their use. Also they should have had a computer as well. The main problem with secret bases is that they were not effective enough for anyone to really care about them. The Day and night cycle might have been removed due to it's battery consumption problems it had with it's previous generation Pokemon Games. Lopunny wasn't introduced in Generation 3.

You forgot that the Strategy Guides didn't give any information on the pokemon's movesets. And then they fuck around with us with FireRed and LeafGreen's guide stopping the moveset guide between Celebi and Treecko.

I do like the remake of the styles for Maxie and Archie. They're different and I don't see a whole bunch like them. And like he said the old one wasn't the best story but the remake really does help with it.

Brendan, I agree with you on a lot of points here-- but I have to say that May was a fresh breath of air coming from a douche in the first game and a stone cold criminal in the second game.

Another complaint I find was that sometimes when you walk, people you registered on the PokéNav talks to you and say pointless things that wastes a LOT OF TIME!!!

When Wally catches his first pokemon, the only move it has is Growl; a non damaging attack. And yet, he was supposed to use this to catch other pokemon and train it to get stronger....even though it can't do any damage. That's on my top 10 list of pet peeves for this game.

Gen 3 had way too many HMs and it was really hard to find a viable electric type, but it was a decently fun gen besides. Gen 2 is still my favourite, though.
