Welcome to Schony747 trains featuring 50 plus year old streamliner diesel locomotives leading freight and passenger trains here in Victoria, Australia.
The first diesel stream liner arrived in Victoria in 1952 for the Victorian Railways. The double ended B Class locomotive was a sensation and started the withdrawal of steam engines across Victoria. While most of the original diesel fleet has now been withdrawn, Victoria i still lucky to see these diesel locomotives still in regular heritage and freight service. Here is a selection of these locomotives in service from the year 2012 right through until 2020.
1 - Pacific National A Class Locomotive - A79 & A81
2 - V/Line Passenger A Class Locomotive - A62
3 - SSR S Class Locomotive - S312 & S317
4 - Aurizon CLF & CLP Class Locomotive - CLP10, CLF2 & CLP12
5 - Seymour Railway Heritage Centre - B74 & S303
6 - Qube / CFCLA B Class Locomotive - B76 & B80
7 - SSR GM Class Locomotive - GM27 & GM22
8 - Qube - SSR B75 & Seymour Railway Heritage Centre X31
9 - SSR S Class Locomotive - S302 & S312
10 - V/Line Passenger A Class Locomotive - A66
11 - SSR GM Class Locomotive - GM22 & GM10

Awesome video lots of memories there fueled all those S & B class loco's one time or another back in the Qube days. Were in the hell have all the CLF & CLP gone, once everywhere when's the last time one rolled into Melbourne. Toughest looking loco with the bulldog nose. Any idea what to that CLP parked up for 3 years at the entrance of Dynon Yard, I remember the day they rolled it in back in 2012. Within a week covered in graffiti & for 3 years it just got worse & worse. Sadden me seeing it sit there, windows smashed all that but then after 3 odd years just disappeared. Never to be seen again. Great video for sure that VR livery just pure class & classic

Have you made a video of the paper train that starts at the paper mill in Gippsland, they sometime use those old "B" class locos?
@Schony747
@Schony747 4 года назад
It's on the other side for me. I've got a few shots in the South East and normally the B class hasn't been leading. The B class are on the cement train to Danedong today.

Great video. Ah yes the "wonderful" A class. What a financial failure that was, rebuilding a few clapped out B classes, at Clyde in S.A. I think it was, and fitting turbochargers, then finding structural fatigue after the job was done. Whoever signed off on that was not the sharpest tool in the shed. A lot of what was really taxpayers money was wasted.
@vsvnrg3263
@vsvnrg3263 4 года назад
i don't agree that there was a lot of taxpayer's money wasted. the railways got their money's worth out of them. its just that a fresh start from the ground up (the n class) worked out to be the better way in the end.
@bigmart932
@bigmart932 4 года назад
Not as much of a financial failure as the NSW light rail. Wasn't needed, and when it was implemented, went way over budget causing 12,000 families jobs to get cut.
@125sloth

@@vsvnrg3263 The whole program ended up costing way more than it should have. Yes thank Christ for the N class, otherwise they would have been stuffing about with A's for a lot longer. The A's were never supposed to be on freight trains when the rebuilds commenced from the B class either,. The issue is, or was, and it was mentioned in parliament, that a lot of money was wasted. The railways may have got "their money's worth", but the reality is it was never their money. If it was a private business at the time of the rebuilding, it would have arguably never gone ahead. I will agree that VR got their money's worth from the old B class as a B class, however.

Really cool. Chugging ALco or chugging EMD is a favorite toss-up. All six axles powered?

Apart from GM10 which was part of Australia’s Commonwealth railways original order for the first 11 units & known as the GM1 Class & were A1A A1A or 3 axle with only 2 powered axles the centre being idle, whether it was converted to Co Co in later years l don’t know, the Commonwealth railways 2nd order from GM12 were all Co Co.

Hello, great seeing those ‘VINTAGE’ LOCOS, how are things there ? Things are being restocked in supermarkets , a week ago waiting in-line to my supermarket , and shots rang out 4 total 3 hit a man then the 4th hit the right leg of my pants , DID NOT GET MY LEG , cops showed up arrested that asshole, Then an ambulance to the shot man, so far NOBODY KNOWS what had been the cause Cheers from NJ USA🇦🇺🇺🇸

Things are pretty good here. Supermarkets are re stocking and we don't have guns to worry about!
@kineticdeath

that last one was it just some stuff being moved between locations or was that a legit passenger service with 2 locos and 3 passenger cars only?
@vsvnrg3263
@vsvnrg3263 4 года назад
those cars are known as the ak cars. i think their job is to detect the quality of the tracks and maybe the overhead wires. unfortunately, the authorities don't take notice and do any maintenance.

These diesels, being in service since 1953 makes them a tad more than 50 years old! Try 67 years old for size!

Why do they put the horns on the nose of the locomotives? It takes away from the streamline looks.
@Schony747
@Schony747 4 года назад
That I don't know for certain. I can only assume it's not practical to put 4 or 5 horns on top of the roof where the original had smaller less powerful two horns.
@StaffordMagnus
@StaffordMagnus 4 года назад
Mounted on the nose due to tunnel clearance issues.
