How does that work? What do you do in the cockpit? What decisions are made during the flight? In this video I comment "live" from the cockpit on a 500km cross country flight in Germany around Frankfurt airspace.

What is the sound?
The most important thing when flying is constant airspace observation to avoid collisions. In order not to have to look at the variometer whether you are climbing or descending, the variometer makes a low (sinking) or high (climbing) tone and you don't have to look at the instruments but can always look out.
What does "integrated" / "integrated climb" mean?
Average climb (or descent) of the last 20 seconds.
What does "MacCready" mean?
Here I set the next expected climb and the higher I expect it, the faster you fly straight ahead according to McCready:
