@@Kavothizzlafduxbfd this is just a testament to how surprising the warriors were that season, I had spurs bulls in the finals 2015, the warriors really came out of nowhere that season and I thought that Steve Kerr was a great decision and thought they might win in 3-5 years from now but certainly not that fast
Now fast forward to almost 6 years later, KAT is good but doesn’t know how to lead the team, Winslow is kinda underwhelming, Bobby is average and Jahlil is a bust. Also no one saw the warriors going 73-9 and Kobe retiring!
@@gobot581 looks like you haven't been watching open court at all. he's the best analyst in TNT. that's why he hosted the 101 and 201 basketball open court--his basketball IQ is off the charts
Isn't this the year AFTER Golden State won? How did nobody say GSW in the finals again? I know OKC was a killer team but not a single person. They really disrespected the Warriors.
To be fair, GSW almost didn’t make it to the NBA finals. They were down 3-1 to OKC in the Western Conference Finals. It wasn’t disrespect. You just evaluate the information in front of you and then you provide an informed answer.
At the time it’s kinda sensible honestly. OKC almost had them in the playoffs, then Kyrie got injured during the finals and Love got injured during the playoffs against Boston. The Spurs were also really good still and was actually a formidable team against the warriors. What really changed was Steph Curry imo. He took it to another level with the unanimous MVP season that year. Way way better than the year before he had.
OKC actually coulda won against GS but with Russ I doubt it. He’s still kinda the same now as he was then but it was kinda worse. I remember Russ bricking crucial shots against GS when Kd shoulda taken the shot instead
This is a great video to foreshadow this 2017 season. Toronto did a fantastic job this year getting to the Eastern conference finals and even pressuring the Cavs early in the series. I think they can do well again this year too, all this super team stuff is nothing but copycat bullshit. Teams will fail to work together and we'll start seeing more effective lineups come out from the least likely teams.
Damn you couldn’t have been more correct, the era of super teams is over and the era of building your team up is on. I hate to say it but golden state really has the NBA blueprint in a profound way
Their predictions didn't age well. Not one mention of Toronto and Milwaukee and both win less then five years later. Also, wrong about small ball taking off.
Wow Isiah Thomas is wrong with literally everything he said in this episode. "I don't think the league will be trending down" meanwhile GSW redefined basketball with many teams trying to copy it and many teams trying to find a cure for it, and nothing worked. Celtics tried all wings, Rockets tried nothing but threes.
The better team did win. That is, GS was a better team than a Kyree-less and Love-less CLE. Otherwise, of course and obviously, CLE would’ve gone 2-0 against them in 2015 and 2016. And then both GS and Kupcake were so scared of LeBron that they had to join forces to overcome him. Facts.
Its amazing how back then when talking about the spurs nobody even mentioned a budding kawhi leonard, i knew right at that time that he was going to evolve into a kobe-jordan hybrid player, people thought i was crazy, look at him now, dude gives toronto a championship and has now taken the challenge again witht he clippers, i am predicting he will have a michael jordan type run and could win 3-4 more championships when the whole world is still focused on lebron, kd, curry, harden etc.
Still no love for the Warriors. Last year's preview LITERALLY didn't mention them....not a single word....zero, nada, bupkus. This year? Sure they get mentioned and this is how...."Well if the Cav's didn't get hurt we'd be talking about Lebron repeating. " Then a whole lot of talk about the Spurs and OKC. Nobody picked them to win the West. Nobody picked them to be a first seed. Nobody even talked about them in the top four. The oldies are so in love with the NFLBA they grew up with they can't see the ground shifting under their feet. Time for the ice flow boys.
talk about salty lol Isiah and cwebb.. and cwebb wants a job on a team one day.. lol wonder why divac is the gm and not you lol even though hes a crappy gm at best
The show's so much better off without kenny dishing out his fake wisdom and experience.. Acting like he's the most knowledgeable guy in basketball.. He's just plain irritating..
