Assembly of the homebuilt rotary valve 50cc Peugeot Spx V2. Was trying to be creative with the camera and ligth, went horribly wrong, weird focusing and only 10fps(rendered in 30fps)

ha ha they are! My Derbi and Honda 2T's have been chilling out for the last 4 months as I have been fitting a new Chevy Volt battery on my electric scooter project. The acceleration is amazing, peaked at 18kW and if I fit a higher powered controller could easily be up to 25 - 30kw! Anyway once back together will get back on the 2T's! ;)

2STROKE STUFFING That 32mm PWK is HUGE for an engine this size, but it may turn enough rpms to make it work. Can't wait to see how it works out. I'm hoping for the best for you but if you dicide that carb is too big, I want it. I'm using a Nibbi PWK 30 on a modified 150cc gy6 that displaces 205 cc's now. I'd love to try a little bit bigger carb with some methanol/nitro mix. Love your videos btw, I always look forward to see how your projects are coming along.

Back in the good old days before Ignitech and Zeeltronic ignitions, the powerjet circuit could be cutoff post peak power by using a EFI idle controller (search ebay.co.uk for 221446961745) and the horn button wired to it. You'll have to make your own housing for the in/out fuel pipes and valve for the controller plunger to control the flow.

I am very impressed with your work, congratulations. If I use a 52cc stock weedeater motor with the 32mm carburetor, it will look good (is it possible to rotate 20000 rpm, like your engine?), Or is it worth creating a new engine block like you did? What if I buy a big bore kit 128cc which carburetor on aliexpress would you indicate? Thanks.

Since you're the man who ventures to push an engine, maybe you can answer this? How much play should there be between the wrist pin bosses both connecting rod and bearing? I've looked for weeks and have yet to find info. Thanks in advance.
@2STROKESTUFFING
@2STROKESTUFFING Год назад
0.4mm should be fine at either end, more is probably fine too. The important thing is to keep the conrod from moving off the wristpin bearing.

I love what you do man, no-one on RU-vid does the things you do...just a few questions... why your fixation on rotory valves, is it for the positive on-off intake allowance to regulate fuel flow so as to tune the pipe to the motor or is it for the constancy of regulated fuel flow? Years back I had a Kawasaki Green Streak with a rotary valve and could never get it port timed just right no matter how many valve plates I tried to modify...I even went so far as to drill holes to allow more and less scavenging while using an adjustable expansion chamber of my competitor's design....then I went with a reed valve!
@2STROKESTUFFING
@2STROKESTUFFING 6 лет назад
+Jon Rothenbusch Thanks! Rotary valve has higher potential for power than reeds - nothing in the way of flow when it's open, no delay, better duct geometry etc. That's why. Can be finicky to get right, especially with late closing.

@2STROKESTUFFING
@2STROKESTUFFING 6 лет назад
+Jon Rothenbusch I have a tendency to not lose enthusiasm... Short intake and large crankcase volume is key for it to work right, much more it seems than spot on timing.

Realy nice music, which is something I'd never say on a youtube vid. I have a question: I've always been told one of advances made by oriental factories compared to classic european manufacurers was the change from vertical to horizontal split crankcases. Yet you've choses a vertical split for yours. Is there a specifc reason for that?

Can you briefly explain how you timed the rotary valve disc to the crank. I'm assuming you put the piston at TDC and then aligned a mark on the rotary valve disc gear??? This is done be eye??? Or is there some fine tuning involved in another video??

2STROKE STUFFING it's like a carter reinforcement that is attached from the exhaust bolts to the center of the back wheel with a special ball bearing

Is it possible to create a single cylinder 2 stroke that can power a car sir? Seriously
@jttech44
@jttech44 6 лет назад
Depends on how heavy the car is and how it's expected to operate. This motor will make around 20hp, maybe more. That's enough to move a car with the right gearing (not quickly of course). If you upsized this to something with significantly more displacement, sure, it'll work in a car, but single cylinders get pretty inefficient past a certain size, moreso with a two stroke engine, and moreso again when they're air cooled.

Jacob Triffo well I was thinking about 750 and pulling( this will would berserk )but 3200 lbs car +130 lb driver pulling, with turbo and proper gearing its possible maybe

why do u apply oil to the gasket before u put the gasket to the engine?

In smaller engines rotary disc will provide more power. Karting separated Reed and Rotary Disc into 2 classes because Rotary Disc 100 cc was faster. Larger engines, 250+ rotary disc starts to loose its advantage.

Rotax made a bunch of different larger rotary valve engines for amongst others the snowmobile industry and they did very well, the most common models are 340-670cc twins. The 340 twins were pretty much dominating the tracks back in the 70s/80s, but I'm not sure about the larger ones. The later models (583/670) are still very popular today even though they are 20+ years old now. But if you bring up the subject of what is faster, reed or RV, in a drag racing community you'll be sure to get a lively debate :) A lot of older racers that raced back in the 90s swear by the RV engines and a lot of younger racers swear by reeds. They are all 250+cc per cylinder though so I think there's probably something to be said for RV losing its advantage around there.
