I run into the problem of the bodice fits fine until I sew the sleeve in and then it’s tight when I extend my arms forward. It pulls in the deltoids and at the back at the armhole. The width of the sleeve is 1-1/2 inches larger than my bicep. I don’t know if it’s the back width at the armhole is too small? Or the sleeve cap is too narrow?

Hoping to apply this to my knitting. What if you need a fuller sleeve and a narrower shoulder? What happens to the depth and width of the sleeve cap? How do you adjust the front/back to compensate for that change and have all the pieces fit?

Hello its my first time here. My sleeves are ok but it doesnt fir my bodice armhome. I dont know whay to do. Ive tried alot of method. 😅

So you measure your body You measure the pattern You use that difference as the basis of these adjustments. What about ease? Most pattern adjustments that are circumference have to have some ease. This looks like body=pattern with no consideration for ease. Great instructions. The scaled down pattern means you can keep the whole pattern piece in camera view❤️

That explanation is in the video. Yes if it’s a lot. But at that point you may need a larger size.

I need to add 2 inches to the sleeve width, is this method ok for such a large change?

As long as you only use the pivot and slide method.

Thank you for your video! I have a question: if the biceps is widened this way, the height of the cap will be smaller. Which can produce pulling and wrinkles. Any way how to solve this puzzle?

Without seeing “your” Problem, the pulling could mean the shoulder seam is too short or yes, the cap can be raised.

@@SewToFit Wow! This has never occurred to me! My shoulder seam is usually ok. But in case I want a more loose bicep and thus inevitably lower the sleeve cap I guess adding a bit to the shoulder seam length might help avoid the pulling and solve the puzzle! Thank you!

Thank you so much. For the 1st time I understand how to increase the arm size. So excited. Have a beautiful linen top I made my daughter andcits to right in the arm pit and pulls across the back and her bust. The elbows are also tight, so should I continue that line all the way down?
