That's like asking why you would clean your house. You're wasting time and electricity. Because it's the right thing to do and a well kept property gives you a sense of pride and satisfaction.
I like that you take pride in keeping your field looking like a park. Please keep updating us on the LS tractor and attachments. I grew up on Kubota but LS looks like a good next step machine. Also, I enjoy learning about the laser engraving machine and business. I applaud your leaving the CPA rat race and making your own way. Very inspirational.
Adam, I enjoyed today's video. Learned so much. You always make the sawmill look so easy but I know it's much more. Measuring, aligning, accuracy, safety, speed to name just a few. I didn't realize how bad those ground critters can be. Great job on the 5 acres of maintenance. Have an awesome day, Adam 👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗
I'd hate to be your neighbor - keeping up with you and neighbor Doug would be a full time job for me. Place looks great - can't wait to see the building go up!
Don't forget to mention that you are also keeping ticks under control - low grass discourages ticks from settling in, since they prefer deeper vegetation that doesn't dry out.
That is why I am mowing every week this summer. My daughter's have already had a tick each on them this spring. I have had a couple but I go out in the woods all the time. Guess I need to bust out the Permethrin and treat all my stuff. They have gotten so bad in NW PA.
@@wolfpack4128 seriously consider getting guinea fowl.... they eat thousands of ticks per day, my yard is bad for them but my co worker has turkeys and guinea fowl and has WAY less ticks.
@@leovogelgesang4398 it is a natural "chemical" you can spray.... it forms naturally in plants to protect against insects.... you spray it on bugs and it breaks their exoskeleton and kills them.... exterminators use it to kill things like cockroaches... maybe try call your local exterminator and see if they can order you some from their supplier?
Hey. Awesome answer on why you cut your property. I do the same thing and get those same questions. lol very entertaining video. Thanks for sharing. Craig. Pa .
Your yard looks nice after a good mowing. I mowed mine on Sunday for the first time this year. Have a great week Adam, take care and God Bless you all!!!❤😊
It’s your place you own it (and pay rent, taxes) you do you. If someone else wants to tromp through high grass , weeds and snakes, rats etc, so be it why do some people have to tell everyone else how to live I’ll never know. Blessings.
I thought you might be putting in a golf course with all those flags in the yard! I hope the critters don't move back in! Look'in great Adam! Best, --J.Andre. / Old Iron Acres
Good morning Adam, taking care of your Property is a wise investment in so many ways. Your Property is so Beautiful and Facilitates your source of revenue, showing pride in your Property also reflects on the time, effort and care that you will put into your offering of value added products for your Customers. There is also the Smile factor that you harvest when you look out onto your property and makes it easier to rise and tackle the next day’s challenges. 😀👍👍👍
I LOVE how you maintain your place. Even your woods is well maintained so it's useable for trail riding, picnicking, etc. GREAT JOB of making your place look nice, keep the varmints away, and be totally useable.
Everything looks so well manicured!! I love the curves you do in your grass - personality!! I hope you get to keep the equipment!! Great background music, too!! You're the best always!! God bless you and your family!! ♥️🙏♥️
We still mow most of our property in Ohio. We have added native species hardwood trees and some ornamental flowering trees to help with our carbon footprint.
That’s a lot of area to mow! I just mow 1.5-2 acres around the house, barn, garden and orchard. All I’ve got for that is a lawn tractor. The rest of my field gets hayed and / or brush hogged with a couple cuts per year.
Adam, I bought smoke bombs (Smoke Em') to help get rid of groundhogs and rabbits. You light one, put it in the hole, put a rock over the hole to make it easier to find. A lot of times the smoke will come out the other end of the holes and you can find that, too. I wouldn't want to do it where you have animals grazing, but on an area like you have, it would work. Of course, your 22 can take out the others.
Totally agree. I mow much more than I need to and even stuff that’s not technically mine but wooded area between my place and the neighbors area that they are not going to touch. Keeps critter farther away
You will start to develop ruts in your yard if you continue cutting the same direction....I know it's a pain in the ass but mow it different directions each time. ❤❤Love what you're doing
My question is have you displaced the gophers? They will come back if you just fill the holes. Nice content and good luck with the new building. Can't wait to see what transpires. Stay safe.
super nice property! but it lacks some solitary trees, it would be the finishing touch if you would have some nice solitary trees around the pond and in the grass fields. Every big homestead here in Belgium has some big trees, or an orchard with fruittrees or a trees by the driveway to the house and that is what it gives it alot of character
GOOOOOD MAAAAAAAAWNIN EVERYONE…I’m a day late due to fishing yesterday 😁 Nice video Adam. Thanks for sharing Whatcha gonna do about the gofer’s? Have a day
If you keep having the groundhogs coming back, try a have a heart trap with apples in it. Dispose of them how you want to then. (Maybe neighbor Doug wants them as a pet?!!)
Your timing couldn't be any better! I have been searching high and low for a 7ft to 8ft finish mower for the last 3 weeks. Is it everything you hoped and dreamed of? I'm leaning towards the Woods PRD8400 (84") or the Wood RD990X (90"). May go with the 90" just because I like a little one-upsmanship. ha
Looks nice Adam. Would a steak dinner cover neighbor Doug to come over and mow with His flex wing finish mower. To free up more time? Nathan Elliott @out of the woods channel just picked up contour finish mower 3pt 11'Lastex mower.
Adam, I'll be curious how many of the groundhog holes that you filled in reappear next time you mow. My guess is most if not all of them. I'm speaking from experience,
I've never mowed a field that large with a tractor but always wondered why you'd mow row by row having to turn the tractor around at the ends vs using a more efficient pattern like a rink guy cleans the ice surface with a Zamboni??
What height do you cut the grass on the back of your dam ? I've been running mine about 3-1/4" but mine is somewhat in the shade on the low backside. I'd love to clear the trees from there, but my property line is right about the bottom of the dam.
A few videos ago you had some guy out there looking at your sawmill he was taking notes and you were showing him all the items. When the video was over, I thought you said he bought it from you, so did he or didn’t he buy it from you?
We just moved them up closer to the house. Almost half of them died. We think the soil quality down there was poor. But up closer to the house is much better. You see the little garden patch in a few shots of it while I’m mowing with the zero turn
