@@newmoon54 Go on Amazon and order the DVD movie The Long Long Trailer. The trailer used in that movie is the 1954 New Moon... It's really the star of the show in this Desi Arnez Lucial Ball spectacular.

Hey Larry! Don’t even get me started on ‘prices’! I had to hire a mobile RV tech guy to work on my camper van at $160/hr (price gouged going price here in Texas right now)…was supposed to start working on my van today. Well, long story short, he never showed. So, when I texted him to see what’s going on he gives me this ‘Sad Sack’ (young people won’t even know who that is!) blah blah blah story about a job from yesterday he’s still on. But he never called ME to let me know what was going on and just left me hanging…so, I fired him before he even started! Geez, what’s wrong with the younger generation? I tell ya, getting this van road ready has been a six month nightmare! Hope you have more luck with YOUR Rv than what I’m having! 😂 Stay safe! ~Jim~

Yep I know your pain. Believe it or not I charge $60 per hour for exactly the same work that the big RV shops do. But I don't have their overhead.

I finally decided to hire someone to build a small porch with a roof over it. Had the best referred carpenter I could find from a builder friend I’d known for 50 years. Agreed on a price and a start date 6 weeks later. 5 weeks wait I reached out by text to see if we were still good. No reply, waited, called and left VM, no answer. Did this once a week for three weeks. 9 weeks out, gave up, Now doing it myself. It’s taking me a few weeks but I could have worked on it an hour a day and in 9 weeks would have been done. Now we’re 12 weeks out, still not a peep from him. I tried to hire someone but that’s more stressful than doing it myself, and it’s physically painful these days, lol

Larry ... I"ve watched several You Tube 'rehabs' where people get all excited about finding the old tile flooring or had to remove the old tiles but I know that most of the tiles (9x9) of that era were from asbestos but I've never heard anyone talk about that or warn people.

Because you're not really exposed to airborne dust particles of asbestos while removing tiles unless you grind it up somehow. And even then, you are talking about 100 sq ft of tiles. One trailer. Not working in a factory breathing airborne asbestos dust for 20 or 30 years, 40 hours a week. The asbestos scare was a huge hoax and lots of contractors made millions of dollars removing insulation and other materials from schools and federal buildings because of it. Just like the big MOLD scare. And they are still making millions of dollars off of it.

@@mobiltec interesting! I've been trying to find any info on what to do with our flooring. '79 Chevy aristocrat motorhome with a vinyl sheet flooring I just had tested- 14% chrysotile. I was preparing to cover it all up with another sheet of vinyl but really would rather remove it due to a soft spot in the floor. Perhaps we should just take it out along with the subfloor...
