You're amazing! I quit smoking after 16 years about 2 month ago and joined the gym and I found you on RU-vid... and watching your videos makes me feel like I can gain control of my body and my life. Thank you! Keep inspiring people!
Just wanted to say I appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos. Such a unique channel on youtube. Any other channels that involves helping others to become fit just doesn't compare. I hope this comment means a lot to you Chris. You have an amazing gift, and your using it to the fricken best man. If times get rough at any time of your life, please remember this. And not only me, but others who get joy from this channel. NO Quit, only gains. Godbless.
In my opinion, Chris has the most inspiring channels. Austin Dunham does great quality content aswell as FitnessFAQ, AthleanX, CalisthenicsMove, and probably someone i left out.
While THENX might not be the only amazing fitness channel, I agree with Jason that it's something special. No matter what else I've binge watched I connect with this channel the most because Chris has a knack for concisely pinpointing and explaining the basic skills I need to build to progress from the very beginning. This channel has a unique aesthetic, unique music that he produces, and his insights have helped me progress the most by far. He embodies living to your full potential, business/careeer acumen, and being a good father, especially on his other channel. I'm grateful that his content spans from beginner-intermediate-advanced so most anyone could jump in from where they're at and get value and progress. He's not only here to show off his skills or sell a one-size-fits all beginner program. So much respect.
Chris, Thank You, Than You, Thank You! I'm 51 and I used to be in awesome shape. I haven't consistently worked out in years. Your videos have inspired me to train again! I love the discipline of calisthenics in combination with weights. Your explanation of why an exercise is important, showing specifically how to do it as well as your mastery of that exercise is motivating. I STARTED TODAY!
After my martial arts training has recently been demanding more of my body, and after your videos not only peaked my curiosity but justified it, you earned yourself a follower sir. Well done!
Don't just look strong, get strong, a good philosophy . Holding position to max strength a technique Bruce Lee also espoused. Thanks for your posts always good to watch.
True as hell, Lee loved doing what i call impossible sets. Which is basically trying to pull a tree or metal post, or push a brick wall with all his strength. While it never worked it made his muscles grow accustomed to the idea that he expects them to do more than what they can thus training them to grow stronger than his current limit by necessity
Same good old superfan over here boy, love that guy, he was a legend, he is my inspiration he was more than super human🤯. No one will ever forget him😍😇🤩😤😤
Honestly, this is great advice and some good starting for Calisthenics. I never thought about isometric holds like that, great videos and great quality. Keep doing with you're doing, Chris!
I’ve been working out with kettlebells for 10 years, and can clean a 75 pound kettlebell for reps. I thought for years that I was strong, then I started trying out body weight exercises and calisthenics, and I’m not nearly as strong as I thought I was. At 51, this has opened a whole new world for me. Thank you for making these videos.
hey there! to be honest the first time youtube showed me one of your videos and I saw this guy with the tattooed neck in the thumbnail I thought to myself "oh boy is he gonna show me some jail workouts? xD" yes I judged you by your appearance! and I was wrong! after watching some of your videos you seem like a real cool down to earth guy :D keep the great work up! I wish you all the best :)
Neck tattoos are generally an indicator of bad things. It’s a wise move to recognize patterns. Sure, there are exceptions to just about everything, but don’t be a fool and ignore real life patterns.
Dooood i thought the same loll, Chris is that one guy who does his own thing and doesn't care what anyone thinks, and thats what everyone loves him for!
THENX = quality advice, great leadership, expert moves, top-class facility, edgy gear, modern take on fitness Best Fitness Channel on RU-vid ! You rock Chris !🔥🔥🔥
Anthony Duluc Agreed ! When I first started calisthenics I searched quite a few channels . Chris was and is completely legit and emphasized the importance of progression and consistency. Peace!
This Video is one of the best you have made so far. Very informative. I showed this video to a Friend whos just starting calisthenics right now and yea...everything (kinda everything) he needs to know is basicly explained in this video. Thanks a lot bro🦉
A very positive and inspirational video. A closed minded person looking over my shoulder asked me why do I watch videos of things I'll never do. Some people just don't get it. Even in my mid 50's, I take loads away loads of basic body mechanics and applications that I know can begin to transform anybody at any age. Thanks for this and keep it up.
Thanks so much for this video, I have been struggling with my pull ups for months. I've tried all sorts of tricks to improve my pull up. I don't have a proper pull up bar it's just a frame in the back yard that easily supports my weight. I thought it was too low so I have been folding my legs back which hasn't been doing me any favours. I just noticed my pull up bar is pretty much the same hight as the one in the video. So I tried everything instructed in this video and I damn near threw myself over the bar 😂. I've had the strength the whole time I just needed to pay more attention haha.
same here, I was struggling for years trying different methods, and all I had to do is have a proper grip and way to pull myself. first try, super smooth.
These are the kinds of videos I'm looking for in a fitness channel. Informative, to the point and with good visuals that show very clearly how the moves are done. Thanks to you, I now know how to plan my calisthenics journey. Keep up the great work!
Nice! Once I nail HSPUs (almost there) I'll have all 6 of these movements down 💪 I'm also well on my way to front lever, but haven't started my planche journey yet.
Love it man, the first videos I ever watched of yours were of your intro to calisthenics and I still base my workouts around all those basics! Haven't done a lot of handstand work but definitely going to start incorporating it into my routine. Thanks for the vids and tips my man
I really love the energy and vibes from your videos. How you explain proper form is so nice too! Thank you for these videos I look forward to every upload :)
Hey Chris. I just wanna say thanks for all of the great videos. I started trying to get fit about a month ago and I could only do like 10 push-ups in one set. This morning I did 100 in one set and for me that’s a huge improvement. Thanks for the helpful videos. Keep up the good work
I’ve been starting calisthenics with pushups so I can get used to using my body weight and pull ups I have a little trouble so I’m using Australian pull ups thank you for your advice
Best content in the internet! You motivate us all chris ! Keep doing what you do ! Everytime i watch a video i run into the pull up bar lol! You helped me a lot with all those videos... you and your team make!! Greetings from greece !
I honestly don’t think my calisthenics would be as good as it is now if I’d never came across your channel. Love your content and knowledge of fitness Chris. Keep it up 💪🏻🔥🔥🔥
Great video Chris, I have been really taking all your advice in to my routine's lately and have been seeing leaps and bounds worth of gains. Where as before I felt like it was always just baby steps. Thank you again for putting out such quality content.
Chris your the best keep doing what you’re doing. You’re changing the world. For the next video, you could do a Q&A. I have a good question. Or you could do a challenge between you Osvaldo, and your brother, and maybe include Zen.
This it’s insane!! 1 am and learning to do perfect form push ups!! This man makes me do stuff than I never think about it after a long long day at work !! CHRIS HERIA you rock man !!
I would substitute the handstand pushup, which is a progression of the pushup and the L-sit combined and takes a long time to even do a bad form one, for jumps. Jumping is a great calisthenic exercise and with the variations it can target plenty of muscle groups specially in the lower body. Years ago when I started to incorporate jumps like knee-tucks, star jumps, explosive/gorilla style jumps and side to side jumps in my routines the difference was immediately felt. You become more responsive, faster, agile and burn calories like hell. Great video with plenty of good advice as always, a million thanks for that.
Scales yes but if you are like Chris or any of his friends just normal calisthenics are easy. That’s why he incorporated weight with it. Plus with weight you could say it’s body if you have the mentality to believe that you gained “ this many pounds “ depending on the weight
Thanks for working so hard. You show incredible feats of strength only mega reps for many days over years can achieve. Well done brother! You've set the bar high for others to aspire too.
It's cool watching your handstands now and watching how your palms and fingers are doing their own little things. It's like an orchestra in those hands. Legit.
Thank you from Thailand. I'm originally from Miami and I'm friends with your brother Zay. I'm here teaching yin yoga and just started the transition from traditional bodybuilding to calisthenics training. This is so helpful. I'll master these 6 moves 💪🙏🧘♂️
I have been gripping the bar wrong when doing pull-ups. I think this is the only video I have seen that goes over proper pullup grip. Every other one is focused on engaging the scapula before pulling. Thanks Chris.
I started calisthenics 3 weeks ago with an app, I already knew about you and once i was in the routine, i started switching to your beginner plan. Now i was taking notes in my head the whole video through imaginin how this improves my skills, but these smooth handstand pushups damn man. I'm speechless. I will try as much as i can to get there!
Six blocks of solid gold! Fucking love these workouts! Isometric stuff like this basically saved my life in terms of fitness and callisthenics in general are great for fight training. Keep up the awesome work, bro!
The things you always need to work out is motivation and positivity... So hi, random person who scrolled through the comments and found mine, I don't know who you are, but I hope you have a great day!
please give us more on the pulling exercise I mean the various ways to engage the scapula and pulling up to the chest. Thanks so much I am watching step by step your moves and series to learn and reach my goal: muscle up!
Pratham Vijh its all good man i was there once ,this coming thursday i will have 4 months of calisthenics and really improved alot ,gotten stronger!...Key is not to give up,workout for full hour and eat some good proteins!
Dude as a noob, your videos are so insightful on proper technique, and just having so many different progressions and modifications so regardless of where your at you can tune in! Thanks for the vids fr!
Massive shout out to you for doing these videos . There proper life hacks, you've completely opened up a whole new level of training. I'm making a pull up bar at work today and I'm training until I can do those muscle ups and the handstand press-ups are just mental. Going to try and find some like minded people in the UK. But I'm an a very beginner level. Lol. Still we look forward to the challenge. Amazing once again.
First video of yours Ive ever seen, instant subscribe. Very well done and eye-opening. I tried incorporating holds after reps on the bar, and ooooo it hurts so good
