Great video. Love this. The way you speak about the classics definitely shows the love you have for em. Rapid fire with information off the top. Clear and concise. You can tell you've worn em for a good amount of time for sure. And this helps people like me who are fresh to classics. I appreciate you man.
Gazza Be Thy Name thank you for the kind words and for watching bro I’m glad you enjoyed the list and that it helps you make a choice on which one works best for you !
You should have at least 100k subs, but again quality comes in small batches and most ppl go for the very obvious commercial stuff that’s trending today and will be gone tomorrow, your reviews are more trusted because other reviewers are paid to say good things about such and such fragrance and they leave a link below to sell you their “Good stuff” Keep up the good job my brother, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
Scents Of South Jersey Noooo!!! Videos of the best reviewer on yt can never be too long!!! 😉 The young crowd always cries „too long“, bc their span of attention reaches from 12:00 to noon! 😂
This is a great well thought out list Kelan. I’m glad Polo Green made the list. Signature scents are tricky as it needs to 1) work for most situations 2) work year round 3) most importantly be original. For me, my signature is Dunhill Icon (the heavy tin can). I’ll need to give some of these others a try.
I have most of those picks and probably enjoy the Polo and Sung the most. Recently I bought Bogart pour Homme. I probably should have bought the one you featured. BPH is strong as hell!
Thank You for the great content..I'm originally from Jersey myself...Woodbridge NJ...I think Halston Z14 would be a great signature scent as well 😀!..Just my .02 cents
I’m gonna be honest, I know One Man Show is more popular but I actually like Bogart Signature the best. The dry down is absolutely amazing. I wouldn’t have found this if it wasn’t for your channel. Thanks
When i saw sung homme in the thumbnail i thought yes about time it got more exposure. I have 2 bottles however Prada amber pour homme is my perfect soapy scent and i have 3 on the go. My signature for years was angel and yes, I’m aa guy
Willie Ortiz Drakkar noir , paco Rabanne and Aramis all could have easily made the list I just had recently spoke about all of them they are all perfect signature scents though for sure
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey they are all great classics better than those sweet fragrances even the ones that aren't as popular as the name brands are better and longer lasting
Solid recommendations, and may I say that many of these classic men's fragrances hit the magic trio of quality smell, great longevity, and affordable price. Something that so many modern fragrances lack, which is why they don't appeal to me. I would add Versace L'Homme as a masculine spicy leather, Guerlain Vetiver as a woody fresh, Issey Miyake L'Eau Bleue D'Issey as an herbal cypress, and Versace the Dreamer as a tobacco fougere.
Chi-Town California is agree 100% ...funny you mention some of those like Versace L’Homme and vetiver by Guerlain I had those as prospective scents for this list lol
Hi, great video, love your channel. On this list I only knew Polo before, love that stuff but it has been a while. I just ordered the Lumani, give it a try. Greetings from Amsterdam
Great list! I started wearing Polo in college in 1983. It was my signature for 30 years. The old Warner and Cosmair versions were the best. I have an 8oz splash and 4oz spray of Cosmair. I will never use it all with all the other fragrances I have collected. A lot of great memories wearing the green monster. Great video!!
Vette Vert that’s awesome ! I got lucky and got a cosmair aftershave bottle 2.5oz I use it sparingly as well lol, it’s such an awesome bench mark scent for classic men’s masculine fragrances, thank you for watching!
the last couple of daysi'm gonna try out 4 and 5. the last couple of days i've just been learning about perfumes, after a lifetime of ignorance. What started me off was trying to find something similar to some old bottles of my dad/grandpa's i found gathering dust: vintage Kouros and a Paco Rabanne. I now know what a treasure they are... this video has some great finds for a very affordable price here. good passion from the presenter without being unnecessarily flowery etc. i don't plan on this becoming a hobby, but i've given you a subscribe in return for your useful recommendations. God bless
Sung Homme is awesome! It’s like a toned down soapy Paco Rabanne/Drakkar Noir. When it dries down it reminds me of the dry down of the now discontinued YSL Jazz.
Wow finally someone who really like what i like and admits it! Im new to fragrances or i go a bit in and out i guess 😅 but like you i like it bold, i like the Woody, musky, spicy Scents and older stuff, ive never had old Colognes but now my vintage collection is pretty good😍😍i just wish it was more normal to use the darker Scents in the summer😅😅🙈🙈
Bogart signature another one of those fragrances that challenged my nose in a good way when I was just starting out. Polo still (and will always be) one of my all-time favourites. 👍
Just Add Light they both are incredible scents I think polo took Bogart signature one step further with its depth since they both are green mossy scents, polo just was able to add a bit more freshness to its juice.
Solid classic juices there. Huge Giorgio BH fan myself, used to rock it in the 80’s. The new form just didn’t do it for me, was disappointed. Had to hunt down an original, totally worth the investment. 👍🏻
Had to check this out since you mentioned it includes BOGART!!! Yeah, this is the perfect starter lineup. Definitely a great introduction to the "in your your face" masculine scents, while not being as challenging as maybe Kouros or Ted Lapidus Pour Homme can be for some. I do need to try the Lomani tho! I'm making a SOSJ "to buy" list! Lol!
Scent Remix that’s an awesome list to make lol 😂😂, Lomani Pour Homme is so nice and dirt cheap too, I love Drakkar noir and Lomani is a bit fresher but still similar.
Sung does smell like dial soap with a powdery touch. I liked it a lot since it wasn’t a faint soap scent and strong but my wife didn’t like it though so I don’t plan on using it much around her. You should try it but ask for feedback on your skin and maybe have light spray. I layered the sung with cool water, it smelled great and my wife liked it.
Yeah, as "clean" as I think it is, it's one of the only fragrances I've worn with my girlfriend that has gotten a negative reaction. There is definitely an underlying dirtiness to it. That being said, I love it. Bought a backup, haha.
Lomani pour homme is a good sporty scent. Nothing unique but that’s ok. I’d spray for around the house and not feel guilty at this price point or have as a cheapie for casual wear. I’ve put on regular rotation. The scent smells 80% like the opening of Paco Rabanne pour homme; the later changes in the dry down and is more sophisticated and Lomani stays the same throughout but it does last.
It's always a pleasure to listen to your passionate reviews... Another bang for the buck is "Bijan for men". Slightly sweet with a great sandalwood drydown. Greetings from germany
Bogart Signature For The WIN! I can't get enough of it. For me, its soapy heaven with that rosemary and birch waft. Then Polo...literally my two current signatures. Polo vintage is such a pleasure to smell, truly. Love it my friend! Regarding Sung Homme....do you get a prominent caraway note?
Great video bro. Love the selection. I have Sung Homme and I don't know if it's just me but I get a heavy note that kinda ruins it for me. I think it's the caraway or something that just ruins the clean, soapy vibe. Aso have Bogart Signature and Giorgio and both are fantastic.
Dace Dark thank you ! Yeah I can see some people having a difficult time with Sung Homme I had mentioned it could be challenging if the heaviness of it is just to much, I love it though the clean soapy scent is perfect, Giorgio and bogart are so good as well, thank you for watching as always dude !
If you ever get the chance to try the out of print "VIP for Men" by Giorgio Beverly Hills, please do. It is one of the best colognes that I ever owned, and it breaks my heart that it has been discontinued.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Honestly, no other scent comes to mind. It was unique and insanely manly. A true old school cologne. I wish I had another cologne to compare it to or substitute it with! :(
I know that you don’t do very many clones. But I think you should look at the Belcam line of fragrances. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the Polo Green copy they make. I have it and I think it smells fantastic and it’s very powerful lasts easily 12 hours. Only cost me about seven dollars at Walmart.
I’ve owned both the classic match Drakkar noir and polo, the polo one I found smelled very “Burnt” and not a very good impression of actual polo, the Drakkar clone was sweeter I thought. Not sure if I even have the polo clone anymore come to think of it
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey glad to hear that you have a least experienced them. For me I just can’t stomach paying how much Pollo is now. So for me seven dollars is good enough. I usually only do two sprays and it really does get rid of that burnt smell.
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey very powerful stuff. They do good work for the money you pay. Give them another shot! Would love a video covering all the fragrances they have to offer.
As good as Giorgio is, and I still wear vintage, try to find the Giorgio VIP. It, along with Bijan, were two of the first men's fragrance to exceed $50, which was expensive when they came out.
Tabac Paco Rabanne Pour Homme 4711 - but doesn't perform ... so I would say Salvatore Ferragamo Essenziale Colonia (also gives Acqua di Parma Colonia vibes) Drakkar Noir (covered by your Lomani choice)✅ The OG Acqua Di Gio (bordering on being a classic now) Polo Green ✅ And while I know it wasn't for you I would say Bogart Pour Homme
I just got me a bottle of Paul Sebastian my signature scent is XS Paco Rabanne Fahrenheit it used to be Dolce Gabanna Pour Homme ....Have you tried Safari it's great ...I actually like Polo Sport and Polo Blue ...I own both Polo original and Giorgio Beverly Hills
Teddy McDonald I have not tried XS yet but yes I own safari it’s an awesome scent I had it in a list video a few days back for the office safe scents. Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme is a classic my father intro’ed me to that one !
Nice video Kellan. You mention that Ralph Lauren Polo Green is really the only Ralph Lauren you like. I see what you mean because of all the blue stuff, but what is your opinion on Safari by Ralph Lauren? I have never smelled it myself.
What’s good Kellan! So I just ordered my first bottle of Bogart Signature. Noticed you mentioned the only Ralph Lauren scent you liked was Polo Green. What’s your thoughts on Safari?
Signature is awesome, I love polo green and polo crest. Safari is okay not bad but not great I have since sold off all my safari, I have a review on it as well if you want to check that out it has all my views, it was a while ago so I can’t fully remember
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey just wanted to give you an update to this. Got Bogart Signature about a week ago. Sprayed it in the box and thought “damn this is strong”. Maybe too strong to actually wear. But a week later I can say I’ve worn it 4 days in a row now and I love this scent! It’s powerful, manly, and allows ME to enjoy it for hours! Thanks for turning me onto this fragrance.
Do you like Pierre Cardin? We used to like it back in the day. Giorgo sas geeat, but i liked the vip version better (black bottle), Lord God i just Googled it and its way up past $100...I used to pay $35 in 1989
Yeah those discontinued scents often command a higher price tag now even when they used to be cheap, I want to try the vip version. I have tried Pierre Cardin in stores, it’s got a spicy cola scent from what I remember. They used to always be at discount stores now I just see the body sprays
Lyle Hammond there is a link to their site for a discount on my “urban king “ review by authenticity perfumes, it will take you to their site and you can pick any of their scents including authenticity and get whatever promo they have running
Scents Of South Jersey thanks for the info! Just subscribed yesterday, but have watched your videos before. Bought the Giorgio off your recommendation and also own the Bogart and quite a few other classics. Just started collecting a year ago despite being 48 already. Really enjoying my new hobby! Looking forward to some more gems!
Lyle Hammond that’s great to hear, I love Giorgio, I just put out a fall list video Giorgio could have easily made it, I definitely plan to wear that one a lot this season
Scents Of South Jersey look for the brands: Lockhart’s, Grim Grease, And Prodigal. These brands are home brewed (home made) and they offer perfume scented pomades, the Prodigal pomades are Creed inspired scents, the brand is known to have the closest Aventus scent pomade 😁 these pomades are on the range of $20-25 for 4oz
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Not in the least... too sweet for me..I'm an older man and I couldn't even wear this 50 years ago...I need more close to the skin type frag.
MrStewbee wow to sweet ? I’ve never heard anyone describe it like that, I get the earthy mossy green and leather scent, but everyone’s scent experience is different. Thank you for watching and commenting sir!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Maybe It's wrong description to call it sweet, but I will say it is way to cloying for me, with even just one spray...I enjoy your style and enthusiasm and will continue to watch and support your channel...North Jersey here.
MrStewbee for a second you thought you may have been thinking of bogart pour Homme which is wayyyy to sweet for me too so much so that I gave it away but then I re-read and knew you were talking about original bogart (signature). But thank you again dude !!
