I have been coming back to this practice for 5 years. I am convinced that including this practice 3-5 times a week is the reason I no longer have lower back pain, which plagued me for all of my life on and off. As a teacher, who spends hours every day bending over desks, children, and computers, this calming practice and gentle stretching is a gift.
I find she has the best yoga videos here on youtube, she brings the knowledge and information about the poses and also seems to have a warm and kind aura.
I woke up this morning almost completely unable to walk. Slept a wrong way and there was a noticeable curve in my lumbar. After one session I feel so much better. Going to do another a little later today. Been using this video for multiple years now whenever I get a flare up. Thank you so much for this content. It really makes my life better.
This is my first time practicing Yin with you, and I want to say thank you! I like your pacing, not too much dialog, and the delicious silence during the pose. Ill be back!
I LOVE how she has a beginner on here. I'm as flexible as wood, so it's intimidating to see people fall easily into these poses. Plus many don't show how to pose as a beginner.
Hello Esther, im 24 and I have been suffering for chronicle back pain the last 8 years, i have always been active since i was a little kid, and i remained active even though the pain wouldnt go away. I needed a more restorative practice today and you have given me just that. I feel so relaxed and de-stressed now! Thank you for all of the videos you have been posting. I like to do different videos all the time to try to stay well rounded. Most of the time I do more Hatha yoga, but have recently started more Ashtanga to try to loose more weight. I've had a break from yoga but am now slowly getting back into it and you are my favourite teacher out of all the new talent I'm seeing on RU-vid that never existed back in the day. Esther, I just want to thank you for posting this practice. It is giving me more years to comfortably ride my bike. I enjoy an annual 7-day 250 mile bike ride, and three years ago, started to have difficulty with my lower back. I began doing this practice 3-5 times a week (in the morning with coffee) and it works! I have not had any difficulty since. You are brilliant! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hello Esther, I have adrenal fatigue, or chronic fatigue syndrome, I have found Yin Yoga to be very helpful....but I was wondering if down the road you might do a class for those of us who have these conditions to improve our quality of life. My acupuncturist was thrilled I was doing yin yoga, as it helps also. Look forward to more videos from you and your partners.
Oh my goodness. I have fibromyalgia and connective tissue disease and yoga is one of the only exercises I can do. I have never tried yin yoga, so this was incredible for me. I feel like I just had a deep tissue massage! I was able to get further into poses than I have doing flow yoga that moves faster. This is going in my favorites to do again and again!
yin Yoga is my very favorite yoga and I was so surprised and happy to find this class. I had a doctor tell me that with dislocated disc disease I would always have back problems and there was nothing I could do about it. After many yin classes and working on spine poses, I have had no pain for 7 years! I know I will always be doing yoga and especially yin yoga. Thank you for a wonderful class! Blessings and namaste!
George you are right.. it's hard for us over achievers. I have been uber flexible my entire life but now that I have arthritis I have to slow down and be mindful. This is a wonderful practice and I feel so grateful I discovered it this week and that I discovered Esther!! This might be a great New Year after all!!
I've had friends say that when they're in need they turn to the bible and open it at random and find just the phrase or story they didn't know they were looking for. I always thought it was BS because I'm not a religious person. I've done a few yoga practices with Ester's youtube channel now and I've loved them. But today I felt kind of meh and I just wanted to lay down on my mat and relax. This was perfect. It was slow, gentle, and relaxing and I feel great! I definitely needed this. Thank you!
I discovered Yin Yoga about a year ago. It is an excellent practice, very simple but very difficult to do it, because brings on the surface all your character traits. If you are a pusher type, this Yoga will teach you how to respect your body. It is an excellent video Esther (and Karin). Your approach is very good and your teaching also. I want to tell you something miss Esther. I love your accent! Along with your voice, it is really calming, relaxing and reassuring. At first I though you were from Iceland, because it is sooo similar to Björk's and to other Icelandic artists'. Keep up the good energy and namaste! :)

This was exactly what I needed, on a physical and as well on an emotional and spiritual level. Being at home with a mild burnout (not the first one) and everything in my body hurting this is what I needed to hear: accept what is, go through it and don't force anything. It really helped to open up the deepest parts of my mind and calm them. A lot of emotions were stuck in me for some time. For more than a week I had a terrible headache and now after this one and some other yoga practices pains are gone.. And I feel more free now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing. I have had Scoliosis all my life. Wore a back brace for 5 1/2 years. I actually do this yen yoga every other day. I'll do an aerobic workout one day then watch your video. Simply love it !!!!!!
This video was perfect. I've had terrible sciatica (is there any other kind?) the last few days, and now that the nerve pain is subsiding, I find that all my muscles are sore from being clenched continually. This practice felt amazing, better than a massage. You're a wonderful teacher and this is a beautiful way to do yoga. Thank you so much for posting it.
This was a great meditative sequence. I was able to feel points of tension softening and opening up with the time spent in each pose. This style of yoga is completely new to me, but I enjoyed it very much. Thanks.

I hope you'll get better soon. I have no pain and I dont suffer from weakness but whatever I do , even lifting up a light weight gives me deformation randomly. I dont know what the problem is . neither do the doctors .

I've had a sore stiff back every morning for weeks. I did this relaxing class before bed a couple of nights ago and it's better! Im now trying some of the short back classes for maintenance. Thank you.

This was great! Thank you very much. I have arthritis in my spine and so far 4 herniated discs (3 in my neck and 1 in my lumbar spine). I found Yin Yoga through looking for natural cures for joint and muscle tissues. I am relatively young and have been active to very active most of my life. Perhaps, you might be interested in doing a yoga for arthritis sequence? I would love that!! I am so happy I found Yin Yoga and you on You Tube! I really need the mindfulness practice too! I'm sold on YY!!
