This evening I check trails and food plots then Melissa and I cut some firewood with the Stihl MSA 161T Top Handle Saw, We wanted to see if we could cut a full load of wood with just one battery.

Sometimes it’s hard to quantify what it is about a video that makes it great, but this one is triple GREAT! Melissa’s smiling at the end had me grinning from ear to ear. The beauty of your property was such a treat to watch. I caught the amazing view from Melissa’s table on the trail. WOW! Thank you for featuring the Stilh battery chain saw! It did a wicked job! I’m saving up for one to help with my turning projects This is a keeper video! You guys rock. Thanks for your efforts to setup, shoot, produce and share snippets of your lives outdoors. Y’all have a Day!

Hey Mike and Melissa, why didn’t Mike video while he was installing the elevator for Melissa??? Thought I ask?🤗 . There are so many people who have no idea of how you two work, share, and get along so well yet they try to tell you how to live your life. Never seen to many questions of why you work so well, get along with each other, and love each other and your family so much ! If they only knew!!! You two did a great job on the video about the battery operated Stihl Chainsaw, that saw and battery along with the properly sharpened chain cuts great. Thanks for sharing with us. Has Melissa found a coupon for a forestry winch yet ? 😁

Hi Mike, It does amaze me how far these battery tools have come in the last few years, I wouldn't have expected your chainsaw to cut all that wood! A few weeks ago I was working with some tree surgeons and I actually laughed at their Stihl battery equipment, they had petrol chainsaws there too. They went on to tell me how good they actually were, especially the top handled chainsaw, great for climbing, no engine to start! I must admit I'm a bit of a petrol head and I like to have an internal combustion engine on a machine! Thanks for the great video.

Mike the odds in Vegas of getting the mini cabin done before the first deep freeze is about the same as mellisa getting her pool next spring. Those battery power chain saws are great for clearing brush and small trees. Carry it on the mower for clearing the stuff that grows over the edge onto the grass . I have a 56v Ego with a 14 inch bar and can tell a 20 inch tree and do some bucking and then it's time for the spare battery. My Stihl MS261 is my go to see. You guys know what each other does the best, so keep it up.

Mike, I keep the 60v. DEWALT DCCS690X1 40V Chainsaw 7.5AH in my CanAm Defender. It always starts out here in Colorado, even down to sub-zero, and there's no cranking with a pull rope: Mash the trigger. Keep an extra charged battery in the tool box, and you're good to go. Not for production, wood-lot use, but great for everything else.

Hi Melissa, Mike, i have 6 Stihl gas saws, but, I ended up with a DeWalt battery chainsaw. I looked at the Stihl saws, but the cost was difficult to digest, and I already had a bunch of 5 AH DeWalt batteries. I think a turkey carving video with the Stihl would be great. Everyone would enjoy it!!!

You two work together better than any two I know. Melissa, no need to explain your part but defending Mike as you did ~ 5 thumbs up! Mike you one hell of a lucky man. Now onto the important part - that little saw did one heck of a job on that tree. surprised me the battery lasted as long with more in reserve. Nice load. Cardio workout there for Melissa for sure. Have a good night and stay safe.

I used to burn wood for heat a number of years ago. My favorite all around saw was a Stihl 015 with a 14" blade. It too was an arborist saw but it sure was light, cut fast and most handiest saw I have ever owned. My grandson now has it and would not trade it for a much new saw.

I bought an electric for wood yard trimming. I found it rather slow relative to the gas saw. The short bar meant that I had to sharpen it often, and the chain oil leaks. But it is not a Stihl. Good to see Stihl has come out with one. Good to see grass growing on your ground.

I bought the EGO chainsaw and pole saw and I impressed with them. I have cut some large trees down with it. Only thing you need the big battery. It really lasts a long time when cutting. One thing I have found it is great for trimming limbs off and smaller logs but when I just start cutting logs for fire wood it does run down.

Thanks for all the videos. And I like how you try different things, to see how they work, or don't. Good stuff. I have one comment about the music you put in the videos - though I like the way you put it in with the filming, I find the volume of the music louder than when you talk. I have to turn the volume down when it plays, as I find it overly loud for the rest of the sound (and you talking) in the videos. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me? Keep up the great work! And we need more Hunter ...

My battery powered Stihl Saw really last a long time and I love it. Anything that helps keep me going without changing batteries is perfect for me. Having it on hand around the property line turning it off and on constantly makes you appreciate the power of the battery. They both have there place. Lets see how you guys do? "Of all the things we cherish in life it is those things that we take for granted that have the most value. We have lost ourselves in the belief that the more we have the happier we will be. It is the simple things in life that you will remember when your examination of who you are is revealed. Your love of family, your faith in a higher power and your ability to look at yourself in the mirror and have respect for the reflection starring back at you. Live every moment with intent knowing that all of this except our love for each other and the willingness we have to show it will be the only tangible evidence of our existence" ~ George Wheeler

Don't take the unsolicited advice about work division to heart. Melissa's the workout, fitness lover, and Mike's doing what he loves with tools and video/production management. Everybody's doing what they love. A win-win, any way you cut it (gas or electric). Disagree about "brains of the operation." That's 50/50, too. I have the Stihl battery saw and leaf blower. Both of the are handy. I leave the saw in my side by side to trim my trails of fallen limbs. Also to trim around our deer stands as needed. My wife likes the blower because she doesn’t like to start the gas blower and hates to drag around the electric cord. The batteries interchange so we usually always have an extra charged battery just in case.

It looks like the Stihl battery powered chainsaw does a good job for what it is. I recently bought a DeWalt battery operated chainsaw for my wife to use while we work out on our property. It's small and light enough for her to handle for a lot of the small stuff that we are cleaning up. The only reason I chose the DeWalt was because it uses the same battery/charger that I already have for some of my other tools. It is also a handy thing to have on the side-by-side when driving our trails.
