The Chevrolet Camaro is a mid-size[1][2] American automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, classified as a pony car[3][4] and also as a muscle car with some versions.[5][6] It first went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The Camaro shared its platform and major components with the Firebird, produced by Chevy's sister division Pontiac, also introduced for 1967.
Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009.[7] Over 5 million Camaros have been sold.
The third-generation Camaro was produced from 1981 (for the 1982 model year) to 1992. These were the first Camaros to offer modern fuel injection, Turbo-Hydramatic 700R4 four-speed automatic transmissions, five-speed manual transmissions, 14,15- or 16-inch wheels, a standard OHV 4-cylinder engine,[14] and hatchback bodies. The cars were nearly 500 pounds (227 kg) lighter than the second generation model.
The IROC-Z was introduced in 1985 and continued through 1990. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Regulations required a CHMSL (Center High Mounted Stop Lamp) starting with the 1986 model year. For 1986, the new brake light was located on the exterior of the upper center area of the back hatch glass. Additionally, the 2.5 L Iron Duke pushrod 4-cylinder engine was dropped, and all base models now came with the 2.8 L V6 (OHV). For 1987 and later, the CHMSL was either mounted inside the upper hatch glass or integrated into a rear spoiler (if equipped). In 1985, the 305 cu in (5.0 L) small block V8 was available with indirect injection called "tuned port injection" (TPI). In 1987 the L98 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8 engine became a regular option on the IROC-Z, paired with an automatic transmission only. The convertible body style returned in 1987 (absent since 1969) and all came with a special "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" leather map pocket. 1992 offered a "25th Anniversary Heritage Package" that included stripes and a unique spoiler plaque. Beginning in 1988, the 1LE performance package was introduced, optional on street models, and for showroom stock racing in the U.S. and Canada. The B4C or "police" package was made available beginning in 1991. This created a Z28 in more subtle RS styling.
The Chevrolet Chevy II/Nova is a small automobile manufactured by Chevrolet, and produced in five generations for the 1962 through 1979, and 1985 through 1988 model years. Nova was the top model in the Chevy II lineup through 1968. The Chevy II nameplate was dropped after 1968, with Nova becoming the nameplate for all of the 1969 through 1979 models. Built on the X-body platform, the Nova was replaced by the 1980 Chevrolet Citation introduced in the spring of 1979. The Nova nameplate returned in 1985, produced through 1988 as a S-car based, NUMMI manufactured, subcompact based on the front wheel drive, Japan home-based Toyota Sprinter.
The Nova Super Sport was transformed from a trim option to a performance package for 1968. One of the smallest muscle cars ever fielded by Detroit, the Nova SS now included a 295 hp (220 kW) 350 cu in (5.7 L) V8 engine along with a heavy-duty suspension and other performance hardware, priced at US$312.[14] Optional V8 engines included two versions of the big-block 396 cu in (6.5 L) rated at 350 bhp (350 PS; 260 kW); and 375 bhp (380 PS; 280 kW) at 5600 rpm and 415 lb⋅ft (563 N⋅m) at 3600 rpm of torque,[15] which went for US$348.[16] Both engines were offered with a choice of transmissions including the M-21 close-ratio four-speed manual, the heavy-duty M-22 "Rock Crusher" four-speed manual, or the three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. A total of 5,571 SS coupés were produced for 1968. Novas sported the SS badge until 1976.[17] Front disc brakes were optional on the 1968 Nova SS.

I know you’re going to scold me, Chris, but I don’t like alternate scale kits for my cars and trucks. Having said that, those look incredible. It’s hard to believe they packed that much detail into something that small. Very nice builds.

I hope the bring back the 1/32 scale snap together kustom vans & hot rod cop/ambulance vans! This Nova would be a great slotcar application! The tires would have been factory issue on the Z/28 and would be "outline" raised letters.

Certainly 1/32 isn't my pet scale for cars and trucks but it is great on helicopters and certain warbirds like the P-38 "Old Pudge". The Nova is adorable and in green looks fantastic. One thing I love watching your videos, is the special attention to detail on engines. I've assembled a number of 1/24 and 1/25 model cars and I've never seen an engine like this pre-molded to the chassis and in halves the block with trans and one piece the top with cover valves with the manifold intake the way it is in this one. Congrats Chris and thank you for such a great model.

These are nicely detailed for 32nd scale models. I once bought a 32nd scale Snap Tite Revell '82 Camaro and that was awful! These are a lot better and ideal for those who may not have much display space but still want a nice car kit at the end of the day.

I'm impressed these kits have buildable engines and not just a curbside as most 1/32, I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out for those kits

I'd like to see more 1/32 scale cars, they take up much less room. Plus the detail on these are remarkable.

someone who had to Nova's, the Rally wheels actually look ok, because the camaro and nova rally wheels were silver with the center hubcap and beauty ring was chrome, so your wheels really turned out to look pretty good, and the fake scoops on the hood were chrome around the edges and black fins with the very top of the fins were chrome

Sorry about that. As I was saying, these cars are perfect for dioramas with 1/32nd scale aircraft models. I have a 1/32nd scale 63 Corvette split window coupe I picked up last year just for that purpose. It's great to see other cars in that scale coming out. As always I enjoyed your video, keep up the good work.

Great job on both Chris. I got both directly from Atlantis back in July and I have them put away for rainy day projects on the weekends per your advice in past videos. My painting skills are not that good anymore but building them out of the box will still be fun. Happy modeling.

Very cool! I remember years back building a Monogram 1/32 scale '78 Chevy Malibu police car. I believe it had Mount Prospect, Illinois markings. The same department the Bluesmobile originated from.

When Monogram had the tooling, a 69 Charger was part of the group but Atlantis is still working on a licensing agreement with Chrysler but once that's worked out. the Charger will be put into production. Another one is a 73 Pontiac Trans Am that will be in production soon.

I remember the 1/32 scale Chevy Nova. It was a Monogram model kit. I remember buying it thinking it was a snap on kit then i realized it wasn't. No biggie i built it and fully painted the car and it was modeled in black so i pretty much left the body alone. One thing though the original model was slightly different. The engine and tranny pieces were conventional left right pairing and the valve covers were separate in a chrome tree along with the shifter air filter cover and i think the alternator I loved the kit and wished i still had the model.

Kool lil' kits, both GM so gotta G-et M-ine...wonder about different sized headrests to Camaro. Best when they release vehicles in 1/32 that can be converted to military - specifically Air Force like Ford, Dodge pickup or van to be made for flight line use.

Nice job. As a Nova guy, I'm just being picky, but that is a 70-72. Any Nova guy will spot it right off. The front turn signals, front and rear side markers, and tail lamps are all incorrect for 69, both on the model and on the car depicted on the box. Small differences and I love any Nova from 68-72 so no biggie, but if the modeling company that markets this kit is interested in accuracy they might change the designation to 70 Nova SS. Thanks for the review!

Hi there, You could be the Man to advise Me if possible, I've sprayed an MPC '67 Pontiac GTO Outside, with a slight wind, a no no right!, the paint is Plastikote Enamel over Tamiya primer, compensating for the wind I've varied the spray distance causing slight uneven coverage, Is there any sort of rubbing Compound to even the paint finish?, I've left it to harden, the worst patch is on the roof where a corner is just slightly too thick, any help appreciated, take care.
