Hi Shane. I have a 2010 Vauxhall Astra mk6. The original trans was a 6t40 which wouldn’t shift on from 1st gear and wouldn’t go into reverse. I decided to swap the transmission but received a 6t30 instead of 6t40. The garage put the transmission in the car and at first the reverse was working (moment of joy) but the shifter wasn’t going into Drive. It seemed to be locked. Eventually the mechanic tried doing a TCM relearn, got it to operating temp at standstill but then the computer said criteria not met. Now the reverse doesn’t even move the wheels. Any suggestions? Can I program a 6t30 to the car although it had a 6t40 originally? I’ve spent over £1000 on this transmission so I really don’t want to spend more.
Hi shane, awesome video. i have a 2015 2.2 captiva, it has i believe a 6t50, i recommended temp to change fluid is 85-95'C buit the captivas dont go above 71'c no matter how hard i drive her, do you have any information about this? the captiva does have an exteneral cooler past the radiator, could this exteneral cooler never allow the temp to rise to 85-95?
Shane, 2011 Terrain having a transmission problem. Starts up in morning all gears seem to work. 10 minutes in come to a stop and will not go. Shut of the car restart, goes in to gear again. With no stops after a few minutes in 6th gear starts to slip and rev. Dealer says code shows speed sensor issue need new transmission. IS this going to be a mechanical issue inside or and electrical issue with ecm? What do you think? Right now looking at rebuilding or used transmission. What do you think?
It will be a mechanical problem inside the transmission.. wave plate probably broke causing excessive metal to cover up one of the transmission speed sensors (they are magnetic). The excessive metal will clog up the internal filter ( non service part ) and cause low fluid pressure to other clutches

For the life of me, I cannot understand why people INSIST on filming with their phone in the vertical position. Stopped watching after one minute even though the content was interesting.
