Apologies for the "popping" in the video. Apparently one of my mic cables is going bad and needs to be replaced. One day as the channel continues to grow, I would like to hire someone that can join me on Tour to help with filming and can monitor audio during the actual recording. But for now...it's just Youthman. :) This 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos Home Theater began with the most important aspects...room design and acoustic treatment. when I first heard the popping I thought it was my headphones and I was like I have a very nice pair and I had them for a year or so and I take care of them very well so I tested another video and their was no popping in the other video and I was thank god lol
I completely agree with Grant's comment on when he walked out of the theatre into the bright daylight. It takes a while to re orient yourself to reality. I've felt that same way many times.
Love this one. This guy seems so mellow and down to earth. One of the best parts of doing these tours is that you are getting to make some great friends. Awesome theater.
Man, these discussions are light years better than just having the home owner list off their equipment while you show the room! And congrats on another great HT crawl Micheal!!! Hopefully someday you'll come to Michigan so I can have a chance to partake in the fun!
Thank you for the feedback. Seems the vast majority are enjoying the new format so this will continue in future Tours. Definitely submit yours at www.hometheatertours.com and if you know anyone else in your area, have them submit as well. That's the only way I will find locations that have multiple Home Theaters I can film that are relatively close proximity to each other to make the trip feasible.
@@Youthman I submitted my room after your Wisconsin tour ended, but unfortunately I'm not part of any HT group in MI... and I don't even know if there is one. But either way, I'm happy just to watch and listen to these videos of passionate HT enthusiasts talking about my favorite hobby!
Awesome, I received two awesome home theater submissions from Michigan. One is in Nordhville and the other is in Flint. Only 1hr apart so if we can get 4-6 more in that area or get a brand to sponsor the trip, we definitely could make that happen.
I moved to KC about a year ago and am starting to catch the home theater bug. I hope to experience a place like this one day. Incredible setup all around! Very well done!
I love the thread of obsession you can see with every person on the tour. We all try to play it cool when we talk about our design but you can hear his pursuit of perfection when he talks about it. Seems like a really laid back guy though. Very cool. Great room, lots of unique features! Once again you can hear the difference in treatment when you switched spaces. Looks like a really amazing experience. Well done in the build and thanks for letting us in to your home!
The visual uniqueness in the room is very official gives it that nice clean feel forshure I really like the black aesthetics and the lights with the dark brown chairs just well done
@@Youthman hey youthman, I’m loving all your videos and your overall vibe!! You make this addiction worth it lol 🙏🏽😂 I have a question on which speaker system you’d go with if you had to choose between all three. All 3 will be posted by Denon x4700 and SVS Pb3000 1st- SVS ultra tower theater package with height, center fronts and ultra surrounds. 2nd-B&W CT7.3 for front stage CT7.5 for rears 3rd Magnat Ultra Cinema THX100. 3 of its speakers for front stage, their height speakers and surround except I don’t like dipole so I’m thinking about 5 of the cinema speakers total. I’m asking in regards to movie watching only and trying not to break the bank. I’m looking for that cinema dialog and explosive heart thumping bass. The B&W are the most $$ and the Magnat are the least and the SVS in the middle as far as budget. Just wanted to get you expert opinion before pulling the trigger 😄 Once again, thank you for your amazing content 🙏🏽
Thank you for the kind word. I’m glad you are enjoying the Hone Theater Tours. Out of those three, I only have experience with the SVS Ultra Towers and Center. I have a review of that system on my channel that you can check out. Overall I found them to be very pleasing for both music and movies. The dialogue on the center channel was absolutely incredible.
I think they are my end game. That is a bold statement for someone in this hobby. I recommend an audition because this is such a subjective aspect of home theater. I like that they are made by one hard working person (Jeff Permanian) who refuses to compromise on his vision and it is reflected in the quality of the product. There is no entry level product line. He states they are built to last a lifetime and it is no joke. Amazing guy and please be patient when contacting him and ordering. It really is just him and he is doing the best he can to get product out the door.
@@grantvanscoyoc1224 I’d love to but I don’t have my own house yet and the $$ is nuts. I have PSA speakers which are the best speakers I’ve heard so far and the price is perfect for what you get. High efficiency Mtm horn design. They are phenomenal IMO Poor man’s JTRs basically but I’m good with that. JTR is the only brand I’d switch to. I have a video of my set up on my channel if you wanna check it out
Really loving these tour videos. The longer form interview format is fantastic. Feels, to me, like the best way to share practical info that fellow HT enthusiasts can use and, hopefully, save money by avoiding “mistakes.”
I love Grant's room, been there many times and it's always fantastic! Grant is right, there really is something special about the sound of horn subs like he and Doug have. Grant didn't mention it but he has had a JTR Cap 4000 in his room to compare head to head with the OS's to see if he needed to upgrade - nope!!
This HT room sounds amazing just listening to you two talk. You can tell he took some real time perfecting the sound floor in his room. Excellent job! Want to come tell me how to do sound absorption in my room lol
Really enjoyed this vid Michael. Grant seems like a great guy especially for what he's done for his kids. I'm finding that the most valuable information by far in this series of videos is what these guys would do different if they had known a few things before their builds started.
Very well done Sir on the edit job. We all love the painted visuals to go along with the conversations and at least to myself tends to be missing during some of the others on this tour
Bingo 🎯 most definitely get inspiration from Grand and everyone else you feature here. It’s like playing guitar, … you definitely learn something or two from absolutely everyone you interact with.
It’s hard to believe four years ago I had 900 subscribers. It definitely has been an awesome ride. But this is just the beginning. Lots of exciting things in the works even for this year
I see Grant has done some theater upgrades since last time I’ve been there. He is a real bad influence. Lol I bought his older orbital shifters and had to buy a JVC projector. My family also enjoys his influence. Now looks like my game room needs to step it up. Lol also very nice guy.
Awesome tour Michael! - So much to be learned from each stop on the tour. My head is 'buzzing' with ideas, and I have already started to make some adjustments in my 'Man Cave'. Thanks and God bless... Now... ...is there any more black velvet left on the planet???
Man I like your approach to make home owners comfortable and its awesome home theater, just a question did you guys thought about the blackest black which absorb 98-99% of light ..
Thank you kindly we were trying something new with this tour. The interview style allows them to not feel intimidated by looking into the camera and talking by themselves.
So, there may really be no clear answer to this, but I own a full GoldenEar speaker system. I have One.R’s across the front. Now, how would JTR speakers enhance my movie watching experience? I mean, I understand the subs, as the depths they reach are subsonic, but the mains and center in particular…some sort of enhanced listening experience?
@@grantvanscoyoc1224 If your 2.35 is perfect but 16:9 is too small, you might want to consider a screen that is the same width as your current screen, but taller vertically. Then when running 2.35 you would mask top and bottom only, and when running 16:9 you would mask a little of the left and right sides, and also a bit of the top and bottom. That would result in optimal sizes for both screen sizes, and would replicate what you can achieve with a motorized masking system. I haven't seen anyone do this with manual masks, but I think it should be doable. If you go with a larger screen and just mask your sides for optimal 16:9 you might find that 2.35:1 is a bit too wide for your liking.
Keeping it tight was just awful. Countless hours and staples. Not to mention tendonitis. It did turn out well enough that it looks seamless unless you shine a light on it.
I am really enjoying all these room tours. Also a huge fan of the velvet. My previous room was covered with the stuff and it does make a difference. My question is about the material you have in front of your left and right speakers. Are you using velvet there as well or a more AT material? Thank you.
Thank you Jeff they are definitely a favorite on the channel. My screen has black velvet around it I believe it’s about 3 inches wide. It’s a DIY screen that we wrapped
Awesome theater! Nice to see the left and right outside the screen for a big soundstage. What is that listening angle and the viewing angle at your MLP?
They are right at 38 degrees. A little too wide but I prefer it vs a little too narrow. With my smaller screen size those were the choices. With a new larger screen I might get away with it being inside the screen but I am not sure. My eyes are around 9 ft from the screen.
I am interested in incorporating a dbx drive rack for diy modullar speakers. As one of the only videos i could find with ht use of driverack, do u think this is a good idea?
Really nice room. And big difference in his level of eye contact versus some of the other guys. Yeah, I'm back at it with the eye contact talk. Lol But yeah, I like this guy!
MDF. I think it is somewhere in the build thread. The lights sit right inside and I will be upgrading to some fancy trick LED RGB lights at some point.
@@grantvanscoyoc1224 thanks. I’ll take a look. Also, when you soundproofed how did you seal off the speaker wire to the sound proofed volume? I assume you rack room is not soundproofed.
Hey youthman, I have a question. I have an 5.1.2 setup and my height speakers are at 80degree above me from the ceiling. I am using mostly neural x and I wann try auro in the future. BUT I have just 2 height speaker. Would you recommend to put the speakers in 30 degree over my fronts at the ceiling? Or should I stay 80 degrees? I know your podcast videos with Joe, techno dad and Wilfried from auro. Here in Germany we use way more often the upmixer and I would be very happy if you could help me. Greetings from Germany and thank you for your work 👍🍻
Thank you for the kind words. Honestly Joe and Channa would be better able to tell you because they are much more familiar with AURO-3D setups and requirements than I am
The Kansas City and the Wisconsin Missouri groups began on the AVS forum many years ago. Over the years they began doing Home Theater Crawls where once a month a member of the group would host a G2G (Get Together).
I don't have experience with any of the other DBX products. I see that the one I purchased long ago has now increased in price. I am hoping to leave it behind in favor of a processor with DIRAC and it will include DLBC (Dirac Live Bass Correction). I bought an iTest mic to use with it and I have also used professional calibration through HighImpactAV to great result.
One reason. Copyright. Last year I used an eight second clip from RU-vid being played on a projector to demonstrate the projector’s image. I am mediately received a copyright strike on my channel. If I receive three copyright strikes within a 90 day period, RU-vid will delete my entire account. Since this is my livelihood, I I am not willing to lose my channel to provide a demo. Hope that helps
@@Youthman ah yes that makes sense, it’s a shame, seeing peoples reactions in real-time is a great way to get a feel for the set-up. Keep the content coming dude.
@@Youthman yeah without the audio it’s not the same. For me tho, it’s interesting just to see what people are demoing and I kinda get a sense for the sound with a good pair of headphones. You sure are lucky to see all those beautiful theatres in the flesh 😃.
Thank you kindly. I agree but really the only way to truly experience it is to be there yourself in person. There’s no RU-vid video demo that will ever be able to replicate even close to that experience. As for your journey has been a lot more than just luck. A lot of hard work and sacrifice to get to this point
Patience is the key. Use them as motivation to continue to move forward. This is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time. I’m 18 years into my Home Theater in this house. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Klp1oHL6MzE.htmlsi=LlVsaMjkSzeWG33D
@@Youthman I agree, but I feel so far behind. I've only owned a house for 7 years, but I've been doing the home theater thing for way longer. I got a headstart when my dad built a basement home theater in '95. I upgraded it with a new receiver and tower speakers in '06. Then I moved out and brought all that with me to the apartment before we eventually moved into the house 7 years ago. I wish I could design a space like the other guys in town.
You do you bro. If someone wants to purchase thousands of media because they are a collector and continually watch movies, how does that make them a hoarder? If that’s what they choose to spend their money on, who am I to judge?
@@Youthman You gradually keep or gather a huge number of items, regardless of their actual value. That isnt a judgement at all. I think it is lame that people come to someones theater and then take shots at them for using physical discs instead of creating a server with a NAS and spending time on ripping discs. You could tell that comment from whomever bothered this guy. That is all. I dont care at all how people spend their money and time. Just thought it was lame they took shots at him.
Sorry Youthman,I am feeling boring to see your content as its not showing any audio and video as before.I find that Audio Advice video is more superior in content.I'm stopped watching your video.Sorry Yourhman.
