LOL! As a 23 year veteran truck driver, these are mistakes you can make in RL trucking. There are pictures of everyone of these not turning out so well for the driver. The first year as a driver is a crash course (literally). I found the more stressed, nervous, scared you are the more you are likely to make a mistake. Respect the responsibility, but don't fear it. ATS is meant to be a simulator to RL trucking. So I say mission successful. ATS is a great game that does very well at a simulator of the real deal. In some ways its harder (backing trailers due to mirrors, floating gears, IE), and others it is lacking (long/tall mountains to ascend and descend, much of the map and facilities is to easy to maneuver). Some mods do help make it better. I love ATS. My trucking and gaming friends laugh at me when they see me playing it on my time off. I actually find it a nice way to relax and whined down after work. The real deal is way more stressful. If 420 is legal in your state, than weekend evenings get really hair raising at times. The stoned driver will sit at the stop sign and wait for it to turn green. The drunk driver will blow right through it. Keep the shiney side up! If your tired take a nap! You can go down mountains to slow your entire life. But only once to fast, your whole life left! The day you think you know everything is the day you should quit driving! Know your height, and take into consideration 6 inches of snow pack. Never trust a bridge height sign! You don't know how many times they may have paved that road since the sign was placed (east coast anyone). Never trust the directions you get from someone at a facility, they don't understand how big and heavy you are. Oh and that GPS Nav system is just as bad!
Road raging, crop controling, and going trough drive thru, are the things, which driving me absolutely mad… Why? Because good morning kids, you don’t play GTA right now! You’re playing playing game, which was meaned and created abouth driving carefully, keeping the law, stopping at red light, and driving/playing it as you would be professional driver, not a gangster, racer or road pyrate this time. Like yes, it is just a game. A game which is supposed to bring you real life professional truck driver life. Mine biggest problem is looking around. I live in Slovakia, and I’ve never been in the US yet, so I can not enjoy views of Hoover Dam, or dring through GG bridge. J
You don't have hoover dam, but you got Spisšký hrad and Lomnický štít 😎😎 But I understand you, this is why you are playing American Truck instead of Euro Truck. I am brazilian and although I have those beautiful mountains at Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais (my home state) or those amazing canyons in the south and the desert like landscapes in the northeast, I also always turn my head to look at the Hoover Dam or the Grand Teton 😆😆😁
I'm a real US truck driver and I almost only play ATS. Not that I have anything against ETS but I just love cruising the US west whether it's in real life or in game form! (Currently I'm in Cali waiting for a load and then heading to Washington)
You forget one...that is looking at the nice scenery in exterior view, not paying attention to where you going. Cant tell you how many times i wrecked doing this. Where you get the traffic mod which has all those name branded trailers?
For the road rage one if I’m cruising on the speed limit and there is one truck or car and it can be on the highway or two lane road and I mostly drive in Oregon and I take a lot of two lane roads, so I get kinda close to the car and I slow down a little and then the car brakes in front of me causing me to slow down till I’m am almost stopped and then drives away and while I’m stopping I blare my horn, also very good video you have earned yourself a sup great job
Lol, I push those buggers off the road. Tap them lightly to contact then floor it to push them off the road. It's possible to do it right without getting your truck any damage. 😁
@@nrgaming2136 no I don't, but I'm sure it's on the forums and it is probably a paid mod, search it up as realistic crash physics or just realistic crashes.
G.O.A.L still is a thing for real life trucking. It stands for Get Out And Look. Although real life you don't have a 3rd person view, you still can get out of the truck and look at your surroundings before backing.
My biggest mistake is forgetting that ATS is not 1/1 scale so were Truck stops are in real life they are not there in game nothing like thinking you can grab fuel at the 49ner Truck stop before delivering in san fran
this video really did not make sense to me. just saying,, i have never heard of anyone making these mistakes before... plus,, why does it look like ATS in 2000? but peace,, thanks for the video. keep on keeping on.
Wait... You can crash your truck in ATS? I thought there is no damage system in ETS and ATS. You can have a damage indicator in GUI but your truck looks the same whenether it's new or old
I believe the part where he shows the damaged truck is a part of a wrecker mod and he may have edited it to use the mode included for the wrecker loads to be able to drive it. I don’t know though so don’t take this comment that seriously.
As a noobie ATS driver, i never tried to go check out the crops, i didnt even know that was a thing, also finding out that some of the new maps contained secret hidden roads, i went to the one i saw in a video, and then i tried look for one myself, i saw a road that was open and had no wall, and so i tried to drive through it, and i half my druck in and fell through the map, so ever since i never leave the blacktop ever. But i will admit to the drive through but not with a trailer, the truck is already bad enough, also some drive throughs are okay, but its best to use a car or pickup truck if you want to enjoy the drive throughs also note that if tou are using a semi and happen to find a suitable drive through, you will have to watch for the honing, also here is a pro tip, if you are hauling a tall load, and are going through places with low bridges, it is okay to put your hazzards on and stop for a sec to go into the camera mode and take a look at the height of your tuck and the heights of your load, that way you wont get stuck, i never had that happen but it could happen to you,
1:50 Who drives their tractor trailer around the unmapped building models and tries to go thru the drive thru of a fast food building model?? Some of these are not even mistakes. What's the last one mean? Not doing a G.O.A.L.????
#3 is never an accident in game, brake check me and I'm ramming you. Do not underestimate my ability to follow through on intrusive thoughts in a game.
The drive thru bit is more possible with a day cab without a trailer or hight restriction. I have gone through a drive thru with a pickup and trailer, only time i do that is when i know i have room to fit or turn without running over curbs and i don't have a load.
@Heartland Railfanner™ If you want to be technical it is a mod. A mod Torbett probably made them self. Just because something isn't public, doesn't mean it's not a mod. Mod stands for modification, so anything you really do to the game that's not done by Devs are mods. A new truck model, edited truck model, edited files all follow under the terms of Mod/Modding.
@Heartland Railfanner™ That's not what you said though. You said "That is not a mod! WTF" All you had to say is it's probably not public. Not a snide comment with "WTF"
Ahhh, the one that always bugs me...when they don't look at the mirrors through the corners 🤦♂️ Like how are you supposed to know if your trailer is going to clear 😂😂
Hahaha, I didn't even know the trucks damage up like that in ATS from a bad crash. I've been playing ATS for a few months now, and haven't had any major crashes. It helps having 4 screens at 96" wide and Tobii5 head tracking on, I can look around all I want and still see the road. Cheers
Can you give me permission to use the damaged truck clip in my video, please? (0:45 - 1:15) Of course, I will give full credits and link this video. I don't know how you did it, if it's a mod available for download, please give me the link. Thanks in advance.
