With Halloween almost here, I figured I'd share some films I think I are perfect for the spooky season. This isn't a best of list, but does include 7 of the greatest horror films in my opinion. Lastly, I meant to upload this sooner, but due to several copyright claims, I was unable to do so until now. So without keeping you waiting any longer, let's jump right into 7 Movies You Need To Watch This Halloween.

To get myself really scared, I like The Vanishing (the original 1988 version) and The Shining For spooky not scary: Addams Family Values and The Craft (1996) For seasonal accuracy: Halloween (1978) and Night of the Demons (1988)

@rgs8970 I don't think it gets more spot on than these suggestions. I actually have Family Values on now lol. Halloween is the ultimate classic. And the vanishing had a pretty unsettling atmosphere. Great pics!

i'm not sure if it still holds up but In The Mouth of Madness freaked me out pretty good at the theater back in the mid '90s.

@SocialBobcat I don't think I've seen this since I was a kid lol, but I do remember being freaked out too though. May have to see hoe it holds up recently!

I respect the list! It's a good mix of old school and modern day classics, and I've seen them all! Also, if you really enjoyed The Descent, I implore you to check out Dog Soldiers (same director). It's my favorite werewolf movie and I have a feeling you'll appreciate it for all its fantastic qualities!

Yeah I think every Halloween I'll do a list like this and try and include a pretty well rounded selection. And I've actually seen Dog Soldiers. I actually saw that one before The Decent and you aren't lying it's pretty solid! I'd even say underrated. ✊🏾

5:49 glad to see It Follows here; i really appreciated the faithful '80s vibe recreated and the quiet perpetual tension the movie had throughout

Exactly. It managed to capture that 80s nostalgia while also feeling refreshingly original. One of the best in recent memory! ✊🏾

Yo, The Fly is great, but only the beginning to a very demented David Cronenberg filmography. The boy is crazy lol

@@itakeonmovieshonestly, I enjoyed it a lot! It was cheesy, of course, but it was fun, and there were a few sequences that were genuinely creepy/scary/surprising. It was like a collage of creepy ideas and there were a couple of moments at the end I didn't expect

That'd great to hear. I think its one in the franchise that many don't like or talk about. I think its a pretty solid movie too, but one I haven't watched in a while. You make me want to check it out again. Thanks! 🙌🏾
