1. oppose critical thinking, they don’t want members to think for themselves 2. dishounoring the family structure 3. isolating members from family and from society 4. seeking inapropiete loyalty to the leaders 5. crossing biblical bounderies of behaviour, especially with finances and sexual purity 6. separation from the church worldwide, us verses them, often rooted in pride 7. emphasising special revelation contradictionary to the bible
Correct. Cease and desist malicious use of AI: WOKE TERRORISTS, , REPUBLICANS, WAGNER GROUP, NEO NAZIS, COMMUNISTS, US SUPREME COURT, FASCISTS, AND THE CHURCH. MY CHILDREN AND I ARE NOT YOUR PROPERTY.
As important is to know what constitutes a religious sect without "cult" characteristics. Mine (1) promotes critical thinking, as such allows one to make fine distinctions in moral law, allows one to avoid being seen as a fool on issues of science and history, and allows one to harmonize faith with life. It expects doubt as a norm, especially as such is essential to intellectual and moral doubt and allows one to. (2) encourages family formation even at the expense of affiliation. Your marriage to someone not a member is acceptable. Children are the future, without which there will be no church. (3) allows contact with if family members not of that sect then at least you can serve as an example as a "proselyte by conduct". Such also applies in the workplace or in social life. (4) would sack any priest who promoted a cult of personality around himself. (5) offers too few rewards to attract someone in the priesthood for the money, or who would make advances upon church members. (6) makes clear that this local church is one of thousands equally valid if in good standing. (7) generally distrusts contemporary prophecy and revelation. We can disagree on the reality of Hell. Considering that this church conducted a veritable Jihad against the Nazis for what they did to our ethical brethren (Jews) and the Catholic Church in Poland, and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Croatia, I can imagine a very bad place for Nazis. We can disagree on drinking, gambling, and pornography. Heck, we can disagree on sports rivalries. We can certainly disagree on partisan politics. Why did I join? Because at my age, I recognize my morality as one ailment after another ailment broadcasts that to me, as does the obituary list that increasingly includes people my age. I also recognize the talent, finances, and deceit of evil that I must resist; against it as an agnostic or atheist I was alone in a quixotic struggle. Maybe I can take a liberal position on LGBT rights because such makes the world safer for people who have done nothing wrong enough to deserve being beaten, robbed, and killed -- and take swipes at porn for what it does to participants in that sordid industry and for its violations of Biblical ethics on graven images and adultery.
I'm Kenyan and I've seen most of these tendencies in deliverance churches 100%, and you can't speak up or everyone in church will fight you. The control is insane. 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 are very common.
All the stuff you said, in this video, reminds me of what the Mormon still do, the Jehovah’s Witnesses are guilty of, and what Gwen Shamblin did with the Remnant Fellowship. Jesus warned us about false prophets many times when He was on earth, and we need to have the Holy Spirit to discern when it is a church when it is a cult. Thank you Sister Jennifer for posting this video and enlightening us. I know you’re closer to your daughter for making the right decision too!
I was delivered from "word of Faith Mafia" I was in an abusive marriage, and they scolded me for "not having faith for my marriage" when he threatened to Kill me, and I separated myself from him at the leading of the Holy Spirit.
@@zanojames8421 If it is an abusive, exploitative, or destructive marriage then it is a mistake best solved with a divorce. Think of O J and Nicole Brown Simpson. In any event it is best that people live like conservative Christians even if they aren't. Such is good for longevity, credibility, family cohesion, child welfare, and maintaining assets. (Maybe I could say the same of other religions -- fine). An abusive spouse tore an abusive marriage apart, typically in violation of God's laws on wholesome behavior. Quit boozing and whoring, dammit!
I had visited a church in Northern Alberta . The members were on their knees praying before the service even started . They were trying to pray and mind their children . It was like they were chained to their seats . The service began . All making noise and praying in tongues . There was one man that kept running and dancing and leaping up and down the aisles The speaker said to send your children to your unsaved parents home is like letting your children play on a street in busy traffic . Horrific ! I had seen and experienced enough . I got up in mid service and ran from that church . There was a woman that gave chase but I was having NONE of IT !!!
I was in a Christian cult. I was told that we did things differently from the world. Wasn't allowed to drive and could only work if someone was able to work it in their schedule. Was not allowed to date unless the man came into the community. When I got together with my now husband he had to come to my house with his parents to become a couple. We were given a long list of does and don't s (28+ 31) instead if being allowed to talk together of what we were going to allow before marriage. We waited 3 years to get married because my parents insisted that my husband have a better job.
I was in the potters house cult for 3 years. Unfortunately, my husband is still in it. He believes I will go back. I feel very alone and wish my husband would see what I finally did. Thank you for this information. It helps me know that I was truly in a cult and leaving was the right thing!
My wife has joined an online church group type thing and her behaviors over the last couple months are quite concerning. I don't know if it's a full on cult or just cultish, but I can describe what she is doing and her thought logic. Some of her beliefs are kinda weird and annoying, but not harmful, and there is one thing that is quite scarry..............................Let me start out with the annoying stuff first. 1. She no longer celebrates Birthdays or holidays except Passover or some of the Jewish holidays. 2. She now wears funny cloths because everything has to be made of just one type of linen, she is afraid of mixed linen. 3. Her diet has to be 100% organic and none GMO because she is afraid to eat things of mixed seeds....She won't feed the kids or buy anything that doesn't fit this criteria and everyone in the house is unhappy with this. 4. She basically cut out all entertainment and things we used to do as a couple she can no longer do like play a silly board game or something because if something may have a mermaid or goblin in it then it's witchcraft. It's really effecting our relationship. Many in our circle "friends and family are lost for words because all of her relations are hurting due to the extremism...............Now the dangerous.....This group is obsessed wit the word Pharmakia........Basically they are teaching that medicine is witchcraft. She has thrown away her glasses and can no longer drive a car because of this. She has stopped using her CPAP machine that helps her breath at night. She has gone as far as to not even help others in need of medical intervention. Her response to everything is god heals all and all I need to do is pray to be healed.....Now I'm not against praying, but to not help others or except medicine is very cult like behavior to me and dangerous............Have you ever heard of this and is this sound like a cult? Don't get me wrong I love my wife and we been married for a long time. The reason I'm asking is I'm genuinely concerned for our families well being at this point.
You are 100% correct sister Jennifer. I came across a "woman of God", self- proclaimed profettess and a pastor who were like that. We stopped going to their churches.
Is it normal for a preacher to yell & scream the whole sermon? It’s kind of rhetorical. Jesus is so kind. And calm. Yes there is righteous anger. But to be yelling the whole sermon every Sunday… that’s not normal. . Am I wrong?
Is your church cultish? We don't want to make false accusations, but we also don't want to be blind to cult-like behavior in our Christian churches. Get on my email list at www.jenniferleclaire.org/subscribe

This is scary Prophet Leclaire ..... my church does this to make a covenant that you will never leave church. A lot of what I'm said sounds like my church and I live in Florida. I wonder if the church you're speaking of here is the one I attend😭😭
I pray you remove yourself from that church and find a better one! I am still waiting on the lord to tell me if my family members church is indeed a cult…this would mean a lot if it were true..I’d have to pack up and move out..I can’t ask my family because the church is so small they could very well be apart of it themselves
Spot on message. I have seen this and it causes devastating damage to those caught up in such churches. These groups are so attractive on first sight, particularly for young people. However diluted forms of this are very common.
*Devout Christian here & I need help to decipher. I'm leaning towards yes, but still need help* This bible study I went to seemed like a cult-ish Christian study. I was just looking for an in depth study with lots of young people, and there was one near LA with exactly that. Turns out, this small study turned into a huge class. Initially, I wasn't told it'd be twice a class after a month for twice a week the next 8 months. They basically said if you don't come to nearly every class, that's wrong cuz then you don't thurst for God's word. They seemed to be "normal bible believers," until they added that to be truly saved, you have to understand Revelation to do God's will. My response was...that just sounds like a legalistic level of loyalty to a Bible study & a very extreme stance on salvation. After leaving, I texted friends I made to hangout, but they ghosted me. Idk why
Thats true, i went to some church the Pastor said those who leave will face pre- mature death because it is the grace in the church that covers them....And he goes on to say that what i teach here you will not hear it anywhere...Commenting from Kenya.
I went to a church where I had to ask permission from the pastor to give a woman some clothes. I was reprimanded for sharing Christian music other than the music sang and recorded by the leader. I shared a Strong's concordance with a friend at this church and she said she didn't trust it. I was told that to operate in the gifts of the Spirit, one has to value the ministry. The ministry being its female founder and leader of the church, who by the way was biblically out of order. Id often hear this is the true church and I was ostracized for visiting other churches, for celebrating Christmas, easter and thanksgiving. I heard that the Holy Spirit had told the church that the leader of The church was never to be questioned and there are multiple, large framed pictures of her all over the place. After 5 years, Id had enough and left.
I was told to move my birthday celebration to the next day..cause it fell on a day in the week when we have prayer meeting- that only couple of people attend. God forbids we celebrate and pray at my house, instead of coming there- and its my 30th birthday- thats why I celebrate
The Catholic Church closed churches during COVID-19 at the behest of the Pope, and many other Christian sects found such a good idea. Churches might offer play-by-play coverage of church services in empty churches, but one could watch that on TV and pray along. If the Pope does something obviously right, then I don't have a cause to dissent from my church. America is still a largely-Christian country, and its political life ideally accommodates such. The consensus is largely Christian, but we do not know what variety of Christianity applies. So things have been since 1789. We must all contemplate the potential of a government run amok before such happens and develop spiritual defenses before it is too late.
We left a cultists church. They call themselves Baptist but they operate very differently in secret. This pastor calls other men's wives and would text them. The men are weak and just trust this dude. He tried talking to my wife in an inappropriate way saying that she and my children were always welcome at that church. But he said nothing to me. Just pretended to he my friend

If they tell u Dat dey want to pick a partner for wife or husband and u need permission from pastor to be Baptise I want to know if I was wrong to address the situation and I was the aggressive one they were even ready to call security on me becuz I was expressing what I saw was going on and my truth was manipulated to make me believe I was wrong
@@chanyu406 Thanks for the question. Every Christian university I've had a look at claims to operate under some version of the Christian faith and ideology, and their football teams follow suit. They claim to be faith-based organizations. To my knowledge, they don't tend to object to reading or viewing approved material, but they all have some amount of unapproved material, depending on the circumstance. Most Christian schools will implement disciplinary actions for football players viewing or reading pornography, for example.
@@jesusprofessor314 I think as sports is mainly used as development of discipline I would assume if the unapproved material is considered sinful in the bible such as gambling, porn that is not a cult . Most cults such as Jehovah witness will tell you only yo read their version of the bible and theor Christian material . My understanding is that as one grows in their faith as the Co ntinue to study the word the Holy Spirit will convict you of things to do and not Some leaders in the cults also control how you pray what you mention in prayers
@@chanyu406 You make some good points. Thanks for the reply. A number of football teams have social media (and often complete media) blackouts for a period of time near games - especially big games. The Christian U football team is just about the strongest and firmest expression of authority in US Christendom that I would not consider a cult - mainly because players know what they are signing up for, it is done in the open, and players are free to leave.
