It's hard to tell if we're making any progress when it comes to our healing and growth process because we can't always see the big changes right away. Often, we are having little changes regularly as we work on our mental health and wellness, but these changes are not always obvious. Here I talk about 7 signs you're going better than you think - even if you can't always see yourself growing and shifting.

You're one of the few people that understands that forgiveness does not equal continued association. Dr, Ramani for example, discourages forgiveness, because she thinks that forgiveness is defined as continued association. Not to discredit her or anything, because she is still good at what she does. She just has a misunderstanding of the word "forgive". Also, I really don't want to go to school anymore, but I will because I want to do what you do. It's one of the hardest things to make myself do, but I want the result. Also, I relate to your gift wrapping issues. My wrapped gifts look like a wild animal tried its hand at gift wrapping. I always feel like I'm getting better though lol.

Hi Coach! Shifter here! I love this video! This may be one of your best and I got a lot out of it. Some of the fellow commenters here appreciated me taking notes and so I thought - okay, I will keep doing that. I take notes for myself anyway because it makes me an active listener. So much I want to say about this. Here are my notes: You are finding it easier to be alone with your own brain. You're coming to a point where you can understand where other people are coming from without necessarily agreeing with them. You let yourself love what you love, and you don't try to be someone you are not. You can forgive people without thinking that you need to let them fully back into your life (or even sometimes let them back into your life at all) When it comes to forgiveness, you have forgiven yourself for your past. You don't let your past control your future. You do things you may not want to do because you want the result that comes from that action. For point 3, to be honest, I don’t even think I do great artwork, I think my artwork is mediocre at best. It is hard to follow others artists, it’s nice that you can be inspired by them, but it makes me compare. However, If I do look back, I know my art skills grown so much! Also, what is your sister’s Pinterest account? Would she care if you shared that? I would love to see her cakes! And don't feel bad Julia, I can't wrap a gift nicely to save my life LOL Also, as an empathic and HSP, your story you shared before still gets to me. I still don’t see how anyone or friend could have done that to you. That really gets me because I have been a in similar past hurt. I lost my best friend of almost 30 years. It has left a void in me. Point 6 is the one that I need to really work on. I still noticed that I am not taking full action or believing in myself because of past rejections. Point 7. I almost did not exercise yesterday but I did because I knew if I did, I would get the result from that action and it has been helping so much with my mood! Thanks Coach!

Julia, thank you for not only giving such good information, but also being a real person while you're doing it. Having gone through a lot of therapy and analysing how I have been hurt by other people, it is easy to go into black-and-white thinking, to think that a "good person" would never be complicated, never be sassy, or never have bad days and treat others poorly. Watching your content makes me realise that it matters more we can acknowledge our shortcomings, or just that we don't always have to be the Queen of England in order to be good people. Fuck yeah.

Thank you so much, Julia! I have been working on myself for more than a year now using the realizations I made from a broken relationship. The painful experience prompted me to work on my very porous boundaries and other aspects of myself. Your video helped me to look at how I have changed these past months and appreciate myself once again and not be distracted by the amount of changing I still need to do. Celebrate my victories and savor and enjoy the new me.

Thanks for for this video Julia. I noticed some stuff come up around forgiving myself. When you said "You have punished yourself long enough." That brought tears to my eyes. I do realize I am doing better than I think. Sometimes we do lose track of the small shifts. I love the check ins you do with us to remind us to be intentional and acknowledge those. You are such a beautiful person and so thankful I found your videos that led me to The Shift Society. ❤ #shifter

Loved this. I think the hardest but most important point is self-forgiveness. After I messed up three years ago and changed the course of my life irreversably, I could forgive myself. It took those three years to recover. I'm a better person now than I was then, but I do still feel the "lost future" and worry what the future now holds. Always good to listen to you, Julia. Helping me on my Monday morning commute. Have a good week 🙂

Maybe it should be changed to forgive and MOVE ON. Which implies, well, moving on right? whether one includes the offender or not. So many good points here,Julia. It would have been helpful if your "friends" had given you emotionally honest reasons for their own behaviour around the betrayal. Fully taking responsibility for our behaviour can be and often is challenging. Another old adage which I have redesigned for myself is the good old "golden rule." I have added a caveat of sorts:" do unto others as you woukd like them to do unto you, SANS ANY EXPECTATIONS"

You are brilliant Julia Kristina. It is the second time you surprise me. No one, ever surprise me twice, not within the span of a sequential day. Your understanding of people's behavior is profound beyond any observer reach. I am bewildered. I appreciate this woman's work. How do you know it, unless you have mind reach. How the hell do you know it. How do you know how other people feel?. How do you know how certain things feel for other people? How can you distinguish the intrinsic shade? Do you have/hold modes?

Shifter here! I’ve stared to forgive myself from my past mistakes using your ladder technique, I had tears well up when you spoke about that because this is a big deal and a descent size shift, one I know you know I have struggled with for a while. I’m also working on not letting my past ruin my future, a current work in progress, I will have to say I have noticed that I have been able to push myself to do more things I’ve not wanted to do because of the outcome I want... so two good shifts I haven’t taken credit for but will now. Awesome video to start my morning with along with hazelnut coffee and praying in gratitude..lol. Oh man I love everything about your channel, so glad I purposefully found it by accident. I love that you don't edit unless totally necessary. The first video of yours I saw yesterday was 34 ways we may self sabotage....and yes guilty of most but also felt a spark of warmth listing some that i was either getting over or past. I'm in a place with my art business where I'm pushing into inner places/things I don't feel comfortable with like marketing, promo, selling, being on social media. Your expertise via simple videos is really helping me so thanks. It's good to watch these videos and think in 3 ways. 1)Wow I had know idea about that, let me try that... 2) This is something I'm working on right now and your support helps 3) I'm gonna take a moment to appreciate this is a big hurdle I have jumpd over(one of many) and that I'm making progress in my life. Lastly, I had a slight guess that you're from Canada from one word in the first video, lol. I just like that this video confirmed it(i think)...I just love trying to figure out where people are from and your accent is almost non existent. Watching you talk and the way you talk is thee best. have a great day!..sorry, long winded comment.

The universe will never wave a white flag. The universe will never say “Yep, you got me! You win!” The covert narcissist in your life will never say “I give up. You win.” There will be no diploma, no truce, no moment that declares you are now in the rest of your life. You simply wake up one day and realize the universe is still broken and the covert narcissist is still narcissisting. But, they don’t reach you anymore. You smile. You drink your coffee. You realize you are whole. Welcome to the rest of your life.

Fellow shifter! I would like to check off this entire list as things I’ve been able to do but I feel stuck. Like I’m making progress but somehow feel scared at the same time to take those first steps forward. I guess I worry that the improvements I’ve been making aren’t real or long lasting and I’m scared that a situation will prove this fear to be true. Not sure if this makes sense. I’m still working through it as best as I can but I’m not sure what to do. How to not feel so afraid to move forward.

The trick to being creative is like anything else- the more you do it the better you get. Forcing it blocks the flow state. Take a step back from what it should look like or what you should be doing- allow the art to flow through you. Edit: Its like when people say I cant do yoga Im not flexible. Doing yoga helps you become flexible! Creativity isn't limited to arts and crafts. Its how we navigate difficult situations, its how we communicate during misunderstandings, its how we move its how we think. What kind of books are you reading, Julia? Switch it up. What's your daily routine? Switch it up. Do something spontaneous- dont plan what youre gonna do. Dont schedule it- just make a bunch of silly sounds for a half hour walk backward all morning, flap as you walk and quack before and after you speak, write with your off hand, draw with a pencil in your mouth, sit on the toilet backward etc... then you'll notice your thoughts start to deviate from their normal pathways. Suddenly youre doing something you had no intention of doing and you'll be glad you're doing it.

Julia, I so appreciate your input; you're right, I have become more comfortable being alone, sort of. I always liked who i was, but, at 66, single for many years and kidless, this confronts me daily. Finally realized that basically, this ship has sailed for me, and longing for anything different was just hurting myself. But just taking care of me all the time makes me want to have someone else to care for, someone else to care for me. More wishful thinking. Never will be a parent, or a grandparent, or an uncle, even. But, I must soldier on, and work on myself, I guess. Welcome to the metaverse matrix, where everybody is alone, and nobody even wants to get involved. Not just me.

are you me? i've totally felt the bad feelings when people around me do their creative things (alot of them are art-orientated) while i'm also impatient on sitting through things like wrapping presents and decorating (or even making) cakes they also always nag me about it on why i can't do these things or why i won't do it their way...... people are just different and i happen to be different from, of course everyone else around me.... geezus right now i don't feel inferior about it anymore, but very annoyed with those people eventhough i've already explained my part..... still having to explain and explain everyday it's kinda tiring really happy i found this channel of yours back then and watched every single vid of it!

Wow. Julia letting go of the past and the pain I feel from the past is a hard one to 💯 forgive myself for & to feel different about it and love myself and to forgive myself is just something that is hard right now. The part that is easy for this Part I can tell you that is easy is that I know & feel I have learned from it and there is absolutely 💯 no way I am letting my past control my future because one I am not the type to do that especially when I have everything in my life I have ever wanted & that is a Wonderful Good Man who not just Loves me and is In Love with me too, and has helped me to come out of the I am done with men shell and also Love myself and in return I Love him and I am in Love with him too Julia and it's actually the first time in my life that it feels that much better plus for the very first time in my life I am being treated the way I should have & always wanted to be treated in my whole life, and that's how I know my past won't affect my future, yet it's the first part I have a struggle with at this time, but I am going to keep working on it until I notice the change in that too.
