I’m in a tundra right now and have been eyeing the 2500 or 3500 ram mega cab. I loved my tundra for the storage space and reliability. We have a heavy boat we tow and looking at some travel trailers for camping and have been looking at diesels. The ram is the only one that looks appealing to me. But have held off due to the thought of reliability issues.
@Jared Brain for me Ram was the only option other than a tundra too. I know a lot of people that have had great luck with the Cummins. I had some issues, the good news is that the issues are known now, there have been recalls, so I’d assume that moving forward they’ll be good to go, I’d just get one that was manufactured around this time and not a couple months ago or sooner.
Got a ‘21 3500 mega Laramie. Great truck. Price is the first complaint. Wish it was easier to add some of the tech features back like blind spot & 360 cameras. Fuel economy wise the 6.7 is better than the yota.
@Richard J I definitely wish I had 360 cameras in this, and I really can’t complain about the fuel economy too much. I look forward to making it better, but considering the power it has, the mpgs are very fair.
So I have a 2021 1500(new body style) and a 2022 2500( same as the 1500 2009 to 2018 cab or 2019-2022 classic cab but the 2500’s are on a heavy duty frame so they sit higher). The 1500 cabs are bigger then the 2500’s(unless you get the maga cab) then they are about the same size. All 2022 2500 have the 2.5” hitch if they have the factory hitch. You can get a 1500 crew cab long bed but they are hard to find. Also the 2500 bed is 6.4” bed. With the size of the boat you are pulling you were better off with the 2500. I for one did not want the Diesel so I have the 6.4L and in the trim I have you can only get it in gas. I love Toyotas and have a Toyota Tacoma but it is built for off-road but for some reason I never cared for the tundra. Not trying to high jack the video but just letting you know the differences and bed correction. I like your color combo on your truck.
@Michael Pruitt Thanks! White Knuckle Off Road makes them, I do an up close video on them if you browse the channel, the video is a little too lengthy as usual haha, but you can see them dirty and then clean and see the craftsmanship up close. They’re amazing steps. I highly recommend them.
I don't know what trim you are looking to get but you can get a Tradesman trim level and option the power wagon package. Plus you can get 37s under the truck with a simple front end leveling kit.
I have always been a dodge/ram fanboy. I was looking at the new tundras just to try something different. I only have two kids. However I cannot stand the 5 seater trucks.
Yeah it’s really too bad they didn’t even offer a bench in the new tundras. I just love having a kid or my wife next to me while driving, even when the truck isn’t full, that bench seat is always sat in first.
By complete happenstance the day I bought my 21 6.7 my friend was at the dealer I went to trading his year old Tundra for a Power Wagon. Quite an upgrade! A week or so later, I made the mistake of letting him drive my 6.7 and then he wanted to trade the 6.4 in. These trucks, lol. Pay to play
Haha that is awesome, I love those power wagons! Had one of those been available when I bought mine I may have one of those! I definitely like the MPG of the 6.7 over the 6.4 though.
@Jake Rheault It’s too bad they couldnt get those kinks worked out before launching. I have an order in for a new sequoia, I’m really hoping those are solid when they arrive.
That’s right, I definitely wish it had that option, I guess not all Laramies do and back when I bought it you sorta got what you got, not enough inventory to be picky. That surround camera would be so nice when going up and over hills off road.
Trust me, I wish I was able to speak slowly and eloquently. It would make for better videos. I used to stutter so bad I could hardly communicate and was bullied quite heavily throughout junior high and early high school because of it. I've come a long way but I'm still working on it.
