I had a E4OD transmissions in a 94 Bronco with a 351W. I think it was the best shifting transmission Ford ever built Never had one problem with it. Always firm solid shifts even at 100K miles.😊

That transmission will hold up nicely, they are behind many 7.3 power strokes 700 ft lbs

Ford took the old C6 and just slid an overdrive into it(re-engineered it). Heavy transmission. Gonna eat some power... the trade off will be driveability. We'll see how it does. Keep us updated!

c4 wasnt great behind a 289, why would you put it behind anything that has any power?

An E4OD 4R100Is basically a C6 with a lock up converter Wider gear ratio lower 1st gear integrated overdrive ECU controller.You can put the wider gear ratio in a C6 And hang in overdrive off the tail housing and effectively have the same transmission I believe there is even a lock up converter out there. AOD And AODE Are are basically a C5 With overdrive. A C5 differs from a C4 in that it has a lock up converter also the final drive hubs and planets are tougher to handle the lock up converters on both The E4OD and the AOD. The heavy duty air parts can be used to toughen up a C6 and a C4. The higher gearing of the C6 is the power robbing part The torque converter is constantly slipping making the transmission run hot But that can all be fixed With the wider gear ratio!

Maybe do a video on how to measure for a new driveshaft. I know I would appreciate it.

Great Video!! Cool story and awesome upgrade for Casper!! Ive a question about when you install the E40D into Casper and the NEED for a new transmission tunnel. I ask because id like to use a E40D in place of my C6 in my 77F250 4X4 highboy with a divorced transfer case. And was wondering about the fitment issues. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Why on earth would you put that heavy boat anchor trans ?? Turbo 400 wouldve solved all your issues and not created a couple more . This has gotta be a free test trans to abuse .

What kind of torque and hp can one of those handle?
