Yall are making me feel lucky. I have medium density black hair but I have disconnect between all three areas so I never tried to grow anything except a goatee or Van Dyke with mutton chops or sideburns. It recently dawned on me that if I let the hairs grow that eventually the patches will be covered. 3 months later I have a full beard at 2.5 inches. I cant wait to see what I will have in a year from now. All I can say to you is don't give up if you really want a beard. Your beard us your beard and as long as you maintain it right it will look good eventually. There us also that microdermic needle roller that they offer on this channel that works to bring out dormant hairs.

YES... I'm in same boat. Retired from military over 5 years ago now and still trying to figure out this beard stuff. I had a beard back before going into uniform, but my hair is much different now.

Thats what i get told by my mom and grandmas. But the women love it .

I've got a duck tail style one or as I usually call it Abraham Lincoln style which is fine, my only issue is sometimes even after using beard shampoo/conditioner there's sometimes it still likes to frizz up and get all scruffy looking and I'm not sure what I need to prevent it, like most the time it's fine but I'd say 2 maybe 3 days a week it's just sticking up like crazy.

I also tried mutton chops with a mustache (and soul patch). I got a lot of compliments on it, though I did have a couple of hecklers. (You'd think people would be accustomed to all sorts of variations of facial hair by now, but there are still idiots out there.) It does require a lot of maintenance though, so I eventually expanded it to my present full beard, which I'm quite satisfied with.

I see why I have a full beard now. I had almost a full mustache in 4th grade 😂😂 I did nothing but shave because my beard and stuff would come in like crazy. Now I am letting it grow and it’s the best choice I ever made. All those years of shaving my face clean paid off.

well i probably have the exact same beard in term of rainbow colors (like my friends say) patchier on the left, and more dense beneath my jawline. I actually did let it grow for about 2 months and it was kinda sad on the sides ( probably 5 cm of thickness around the jawline, following by patchy hairs on the upper cheecks) and decided to shave sides and leave it with a long goatee (close to no hair on the chin but a decent length on the side and below to cover up a bit) and it wasn't actually that bad, but i'd say i will grow the side back cause i want a jawline ahaha; anyway just to say that you should let it grow for at least 6 months to really see if you really can't grow your cheeks longer and if not, either try a boxed beard/biker beard (cutting your cheeks lower were you have your thickness and leave your goatee growing) or shave you side and go for a goatee. But don't forget, let it at least grow 6 months, and decide after wich suits you the most. cheers
