vikash bhai, regarding the height, yes its a little tall bike ask me I am 5.4, but bhai u get used to the height... despite of my lower height I can easily manage the versys too... and high vehicles r more comfortable on highways too..
Nice Video and appreciate both(Vikas and Bulu) of your work on bringing informative videos. I purchased Dominar 400 on Jan 15th and I do feel the tip towing is a issue in traffic situation. I wanna know from you both, Is there a way to adjust the height of the bike. I am 5.6". Also, I think the rear braking could have been better but front I think is fine but agree with Vikas, I don't feel the bite in brakes.
tarun verma even I go with dominar because it has only one con that are brakes as one my friend's brother works in Bajaj and one minor which doesn't bother many owners that's fuel capacity! and he also said take abs as it's useless for daily commuting Bajaj is. just cashing over abs it's only used in race track! but in this review he's bluffing! -.- and never believe vedios which says review, full review etc shit!! it's the best bike you will ever get in as low as 1.57L on road(Hyderabad)
+Santosh Siva Vikas has already said in several previous videos that the Dominar is a great bike and no doubt excellent value for money. However, that doesn't mean a product is devoid of any flaws. Every bike comes with flaws and sometimes it is good to be aware of what they are. Now let me give you some advice: your friend's brother is full of shit buddy abs is not meant for racing infact on such bikes people tend to turn off the abs on the track. Learn and understand what ABS is before saying such horseshit
now a twist came up...!! there's accident occurred first accident of dominar 400 in India and this causes a hole in the engine!!! its this is scary I mean how many times u saw sm1 got accident and suddenly a hole in the engine this news completely change my views for dominar nd I thing I should go with my 1st choice that is Honda CBR 250r at least this is reliable!!!!
tarun verma brotha it depends on how well you ride😂 .. i mean if you get in an accident and your engine hits a pole or something hard it's gonna get a hole ...I've even seen a 390 get a hole in the engine. they're not made out of vibranium you see ..
I can't afford to Buy another bike since I just Bought one few months back but woah this is such a Amazing bike for the price cheers who bought this bike have fun.
finally after so much praise good to hear criticism :P . I too took test ride yesterday and agree with all ur pros and cons. for styling and looks I still prefer Duke though 😎
These are my feedback after riding Dominar for 2 3 times. Dominar is 'budget mein sub kuch' type of bike. So it's not at all a touring bike, yes it goes faster but I feel it's simply a street bike with good engine. Also build quality is sacrificed for budget friendly pricing. So people who are actually looking for serious touring don't go for this, wait for bikes like BMW 310gs and other upcoming touring bikes or if you don't care about speed then you have Himalayan. Dominar is ok for casual touring, impressing your girlfriend or usual daily commute. Ride safe! :)
I have ride mojo. it's sounds like a 600cc sport bike. dual exhausts are great. speed is good, you can tour with an avg of 135kmph, engine is more refined and richer than doninar. both of the seats are very comfy. low seat height makes you.more closer to ground and feels really gr8. handle is light. don't feel any pressure. head light quality is also great on night. tyres are very good. very good grips yeah but you still have an old school tachometer and so on. don't like the tail section. I think Mojo is better than Dominar in most cases.
Akash Baran Maji but buddy the Mojo has the worst brakes, the rear brake always locks all the time all my Mojo friends have crashed because of the brakes... plus mojos suspension is stiffer... dual exhaust is unnecessarily adding more weight to the bike. seats are also very soft so quite uncomfortable for long ride... pillion seats r the worst, its even smaller then the dukes seat.
Great video Vikas sir! I couldn't help but notice that you did not mention the fuel tank capacity as a con, in my opinion the capacity should have been more, given that this bike is marketed as a touring motorcycle. I would like to know your thoughts on that.
hey buddy, i have a solution for the plastic tank and wanting to Put tank bag. Just open up the plastic Tank and stick magnets at appropriate locations. Have done that to my FZ. And i feel that the issue of Not having Temperature gauge is kinda Nit picking. I have it in my Car and i have never ever looked at. As a Matter of fact i have have kinda miss took it for Fuel Gauge (in i20 both are side by side in the digital display) and i have always wanted Just a small warning light to let me know that engine is over heating. Being liquid cooled am sure that would never happen while riding in our routine day to day life. ANd yes i agree with you that a Gear shift indicator to tell which gear we are in would have been highly welcomed. Also the trip computer that would tell us distance to empty. Hope Dominar 2.0 has that
I just rode Dominar 400 today (chennai) it was actually mind blowing but as you said in the video the brakes doesn't give a confidence while riding at high speeds I have a plan of buying this bike but there are two other options in my list i.e Thunder bird 350 and Yamaha r3 so can you please suggest a few reason which out-stands the other two when compared with dominar
First of all thank you bro for doing the cons video for bajaj Dominar 400 because I found only pros video for this bike.Secondly I love your reviews because you do them very keenly.Love your motovlogs bro!!!
Vikas loves to tour, and his points are valid from the perspective of touring (for the most part). Problem is, people buying the Dominar, given its low price, will mostly squid around.
I don't think so . I'm sure about it wait and watch .People are not fans of bajaj .They either go for ktm duke 200 or rc 200 or like I said yamaha or bullet.I stay in mangalore, trust me we have lot of squids here taking R15 , bullets and especially RC200.I'm talking about my hometown ,not sure about the rest of India .
Sid Con but shockingly no squids buy a dominar. that's what I noticed. only seen serious or mature riders buying and riding a dominar. squids yes they prefer the NS and rs200 Or even the duke 200 to squid and shit around on the street. and how can we forget the chhapri bike 220 pulsar 😂 famous with squids
I have completed 1000 km on it.. I'm short guy... Whatever you said I'm agree with that.... I realy love the bike.. But I can't use it for daily purposes... Because Bangalore traffic... & im short.... Bajaj should really take initiative for making seat bit shorter.... Im 5.4" tall 😊
Thank you for the video. Well I will argue. Firstly nobody will complain anything about Dominar if they are really a bike enthusiast because it worth every penny spend. Brake: let’s take the weight of the bike you know how much it is, one brake cannot bite so use both at same time and it will work. Engine temperature indicator, when your bike rev limiter kicks in at 4000 rpm when engine is about to over heat, what indicator you even asking for? If we take the price to narrative and compare with other bikes anyone must be happy and be thankful to Bajaj made in India made for Indians.
The most important point missed in this video is about not having a central stand in this bike as it is heavy bike the chances of falling down is high if parked in side stand on loose ground and also difficulty in removing rear and front tires during punctures.
Dominar owner here. Rode to Pune in 14 hours. Jaipur in 39 hours. Agreed on the mirrors and the braking. High seat height. Bro it is adjustable. I am 5ft 6in and I reduced the seat height by 2 units and now the baby handles like a dream. Not like a Ducati though. I also find the light pretty weak on highways at night-time. But my tours were accident free. Gear shift indicator? C'mon man. I change my gear by the front of the engine. And that how I love it. I also own a 2006 pulsar 180 in which I toured entire north east so the gut instinct comes from there. Engine does get hot which I feel in my daily commute but on the highway this beast is smooth. Comparing Dominar to RE and Dukes makes no sense. This bike is in a different segment altogether. The closet call would be Mahindra Mojo. Plastic tank is again fine but I do wish for a greater tank size. Saddles bags have not given me any trouble despite being short in height. But yeah. In love with this machine through and through. I wanted a good mid weight bike that can take me places and should not have the alphabets RE.
Hi Vikas, can you please suggest which is a better option to go for between Thunderbird 350, Thunderbird 500 and the Dominar? I know people will say you cannot compare TB with Dominar but I want to select between these two bikes. My use is for daily commuting and occasional touring. My height is about 5.7 and I am on the heavier side. Budget is about 2.2 lacs. Your honest suggestion would be really appreciated. Or shall I wait for any other upcoming bikes you recommend? Thank you.
plz.. some1 has thought about tall riders also... every damn bike in India is kinda ment for short guys. Im really happy with this bike. specially ride position. . short guys may buy an Avenger or R15.. chao. ✌ peace 🍑
hello vikas sir.. i need a seggestion.. i am 24 years old n i have a pulsar 220 2015 edtion... that is my daily as well as long ride companion.. now i want a different long ride bike... i am confused between dominar and duke 250.. which one should i go for???? help me out...
Vikas hi Very well observations A quick suggestion I plan to buy a bike Duke 390 or Dominor or avenger I need to drive Only on bangslore city roads 40 Km per day
Hi...is it overheats while riding in city traffics...have Hyosung GV250, n while ridding in traffic feel too much heat on legs....so what about Dominar’s ?
hai Vikas this is anoop. Thanks for your efforts to learn others about a new vehicle. I have some questions to ask you? I would like to buy a new bike, but I am confused which one is suitable for me. 3 bikes are in my mind, dominar, classic 350 and Electra 350. now I have a pulsar 180 having 7 years of age. I have ridden almost 56800kms. I have a 3members family. we always travel in my pulsar. now a days I have some back pain problem and performance of my bike is unsatisfactory. power become less. and no riding comfort and back pain. I am not a harsh driver. I always ride with a speed of 50 km. quite few times 70....but I love to ride power ful bikes of bajaj. now I am getting a mileage of 54 I need to know whether I select dominar 1)whether I get a mileage of 40km with my riding speed. 2) riding comfort or both rider and pillon seat. which are suitable for ladies both in single side and double side. 3)seat has a length of 3 people sitting.2 elder and a kid. 4)shall we replace its horn with a pair of pulsar horn. I need to get an answer of all these. read carefully. and give me a best reply. thankyou....."
Bro you are amaz every time you make best video ..thanks for reviewing on every bike what you it really helps a lot of people.evert time I suggest you video to friend a lot.. thanks you..cherzzz bro
hi vikas, I'm 5ft 6inch and I'm facing the tip toe issue while dragging back my Dominar from parking lots, can we lower the seat height by adjusting the mono suspension of the bike. My friend who's an FZ version 2 user has changed the suspension settings and the seat height was comfortable for me. Can we do the same in Dominar?
I think there are some good pointers here along with supportive logic to it. Well, it's never going to be a complete wholesome package, requirements along with costs will always differ from rider to rider.. And honestly you should always compare apples to apples.. All in all informative..
Hey Vikas! I took Dominar from local rental bikes and took it to highway, I was doing Revs of around 6k @ 120kmh and I noticed the bike lag for a fraction of second for couple of times and then the bike broke down.. I had to pull it for about 3 km fuse was intact,, the local mechanic used an extra battery to start it by shorting under the seat.. can you please tell me whether this is common issue ?
I have seen soo many youtube reviews about this bike - reviews from bike owners and company ), read articles about this and among the points, you have mentioned like - plastic fuel tank, rare view mirrors, consol trip indicators etc, around 99% have the exact same problem or complaints about this bike. Also, it has vibrations on high speeds. So its kinda nice that you folks give your time and energy to give the proper review as well as share your experience with this bike which in turn help to make a conscience about this bike, but is Bajaj really listening to the consumer's complaints ?? or turning a blind eye !! coz if they would be listening to these complaints then I am sure by now they would had incorporated changes as per consumer likes. :-) , anyways good review.
Hello Mr. Vikas , I have a doubt regarding my ktm duke 390. I own a 2015 ktm duke 390..... my instrument cluster shows 13k rpm as the limit... but recently when i was riding i came to know, the limiter kicks in as soon as 9500 rpm...... is it the same for all the dukes or is it from the new slipper clutch enabled versions...... can it also be, because of me setting the shift light at that particular rpm....... please share your views...... i am always inspired by your videos..... keep up the good work and do what you like... all the best.......
I hav seen all ur videos I just wanted to knw hw much does it really give - mileage?? In a review a guy said that it gives oly 18- 20 ? I'm abt to buy dominar I need it give me 32 kmpl will it give I'm in a hilly area not dat much traffic here
hii dude i want to buy a knee pad for touring but i dont tour much..... which type of knee pad should i but internal or external one and planing to buy helemt im thinking of buying mt thunder kindly suggest me
this is the kind of review you are known for. The 2017 Duke 390 review was Informative but the way you presented it was a bit childish and out of your character. You are a mature rider who is very well informed about mechanicals. I don't think you need to act like a overenthusiastic teenage rider to attract potential subscribers. I hope you don't mind what I said, it was just a thought that came to my mind. Been following you since 2015, and just love your informative videos
I'm planing to buy a above 300cc bike. But totally confused in DOMINAR 400 , BMW G310R, BMW G310GS , Duke 390 , Benelli Tnt 300 etc etc for my nxt sikkim & Leh ladakh Tour. Kindly give me suggestion...
bro, did you felt the fatigue or soreness on 400kms ride and in case if you felt then after how much kms u felt fatigue and soreness. please me the honest answer and I took test ride of 4-5kms but I can't say until I didn't riden this motorcycle like you. my priorities is comforts and power.
it's really helpful review for some one like me who's looking for a 400-600cc motorbike, i have got one doubt while watching this review, u talked about after market brake pads, which brake pads will u recommend for RC200, the stock has the initial bite around 6-8 months after that feels like it's fading even i changed the pads 2 times in SVC, and some of my friends said that it's bcoz of metz tyres, it's sticky and smooth that's y am not feeling the bite but personally am not feeling the stopping power and initial bite which i felt 3 years back.
indeed true 😌 but considering the fact that it is a valueformoney bike...those features doesn't stand a chance...but still i agree with the mirror height problem...👍 overall its an awesome video...thnx :)
At that price it's the best offering from Bajaj... I think no manufacturer in the world can provide the same at that price...Indian manufacturers are really great in that perspective...
this bike is less costlier than the duke 200,,and packs a lot of goods for that amazing price tag bajaj has put on it,, the cons u pointed out like the trip computer and the shift indicator,,will only increase the price of the bike,,, if u want all that just go for or smthg costlier ,,, this bike is really worth the money and a good option for buyers with low budget,, bajaj did an awesome job on the pricing of the bike,, and with the bike too,, these points doesnt mean shit,, for a bike which gives this much and that too for an awesome price tag,,, :/
vikas are you a true biker,if yes question yourself plz. why the hell are you comparing KTM to Dominar?? KTM have this Dominar doesn't. KTM have that Dominar doesn't. what the hell man. Dominar have its own specs okay. tell the points which hate but don't compare them and begin the rivals.
@@somrawat4280 but now they nearly do 🙂 there's hardly a price difference in 2020. the duke 390 costs 2.58 ex showroom and the dominar 2.25 ex showroom
I've heard that if the fuel indicator has zero bars, you might have a good 3 liter fuel it just doesn't show up because it's the minimum requirement fuel cause of Fuel Injection.
buddy, if you are a serious tourer, then these are actually very big problems... and by touring i mean 600 to 750 km a day... however you will not feel these problems much when you are riding 150 or 200 km in one day...
i want to buy dominar bt most of the ppl i askd said dnt go fr dominar.bajaj bikes r nt durable creats lots of prblms aftr couple of yrs,no avg,no resale value.feel gud only whn its new, aftr 2-3 yrs wil face issues.rather dan go fr royal. so specification wise dominar is best bt it is dat best fr long time?need advice.
Bro I have problem of dominar I don't know if this serious but my throttle has a play maybe because the throttle cable need to adjust I don't know is it possible to rectify this problem
EBC released Brake pads for dominar for 2899Rs.Before you go to EBC you can consider ASK Disc pads same for UG4 pulsar series.its Around 130Rs Its sound like very cheap,But its doing great job.Not so durable but its better than stock pads.Am using its better.EBC good option and its copper alloy sintered best option,ASK is coarse Semi type.
Shakib Ahsan Obviously ri8 bro u cant get a super bike in 1.4 , i think it's d bst in this price no other can provide so much facilities in this price tag
Nicely presented man much appreciated.. 1 Query..I have seen In one review video of the same bike that the Owner describes that the gear downshift is not quick. He has to Clutch & down shift in on every gear to bring it to the first gear. e.g. The owner was riding on 5th gear & suddenly he has to slow cause speed breaker or a Sudden potholes so normally we downshift the gears by holding Clutch & then Shift shift shift shift. But he describes that u have to Clutch-downshift, Clutch-downshift till 1st gear if you are slowing down suddenly.. Whats your comment on this, do u ever have to do this?
Thanks for the review. Wish you could have the bike on main stand for better visibility of bike.... specially while explaining the ride height. Rest all good.
for this price tag, bajaj had given more than enough features. In my opinion, this is the best vfm bike available now and my next ride will be this( currently i ride enfield desert storm 500).
I will suggest you to lock the entrance door my buddy! Your shepherd won't love any unwanted entrance I hope 😂 Atlast my shepherd doesn't love strangers. And nice detailed video buddy!
