8 Overly Ambitious Tattoos 😬 Ink Master 

The funny thing is that the artists aren't even ink masters. They are just competing to become an ink master.

Having been around the tattoo world nearly 30 years it's interesting how some things do change. My artist back in the day working a, for example, bicep size tattoo would spend a couple hours drilling in the outline, then stop working. Give that time to heal. Go back and lay in the shading. Stop, heal, go back, shoot the color. While color was severely limited we laid down everything, outline, shading, color and then I went back when it had healed for whatever touch ups or additions it needed. I'd say the old way took longer, maybe an hour even two plus all the chair time on one client. TL:DR - Stuff changes but any artist good enough to get on a tattoo TV show KNOWS what they can put down in 5-6 hours and if they say your idea won't fit. Listen!!

Time is fake on this show. Sometimes they get more than 6 hours to finish a tattoo. Sometimes even taking up to 2 days. Shiet Dave Navarro barely on the show they are just cuts.

I agree. Canvases get pissed but they are the ones who say "I don't care what you (the artist) says, this is what I want", and then get something unfinished or just plain rushed.

I rolled my eyes so hard one eyeball legitimately hurts now. It's like hearing "I'm not high maintenance I just expect..."

hey, name of the competition is 'Ink Master' not 'Generic Tattoo Artist'. Secondly, it's a competition, fking over artists for the win is the way forward to victory. Though Ryan had a good one.

Yea you learn the rules of tattoo which can be cool. I learned my traditional christ head isn't facing the center of my body rather facing out. Still looks good, but still. Thanks Ink Master!

It always gives me anxiety for the canvas when the artists are like “I’m gonna sabotage him/her” of course it’s not their style, they want them to get eliminated 😭😂

The horn are fine it might need a bit more texture (unless your going for a dragon that has horns covered in skin) tbh the contrast is the bad part she need more gray and highlight areas

I hate how Chris says... 'If a canvas wants it this is how we pay the bills...' Right except that peacock should have actually taken like 20 hours to do.. Which would mean 2000$ in their pockets. But they have to do it in 6 for free. Like??? That part of the show always bummed me out. Properly pick canvases for your contestants that understand realistic time frames. Instead of setting people up for failure and drama with foreheads that want the world in 10 minutes...

It pretty much is an ad. I think the problem is some of these people come in thinking they're going to get a free tattoo of whatever they want, and not what meets the criteria.

Honestly, most of this is probably encouraged by producers for drama.

Ya horns aren't the same texture as the skull and if they are it's because the horns are covered in skin (which is ovi common in animals or even mythology)

Totally agreed. They're always just like: "Oh, you have to deal with tough clients". Nope. If you're a freelance artist, one of the few perks is that you can tell overdramatic and nitpicky clients to go f*ck themselves with no repercussions.

It was a watercolor tattoo he probably wanted a rainbow style (like in places the color is different but the main color is yellow) it's very common in watercolor just look up watercolor sunflowers you will see at least a mild version of it

The darkest areas were the eyes and I thought it looked cool the the eyes were like pits or peeks into soulless abyss.

Ya the only part of darkness I was worried about is around the teeth that should have been lighter but the horns where fine they just look like horns that would be covered by skin

I truly believe he had good intentions just executed his words wrong …. She was super happy at the end when she realized she did sit threw the whole thing an he is correct the more breaks u take an the longer the less likely u are to sit to finish .

And most of their judgment is that it's unfinished but if someone rushes and finishes it it's that's it's rushed like Ron (I belive his name it's hard to till) tattoo looked finished the just said it was unfinished cuz it's not what they would do

For me it depends. Couldn't finish because it was to big/complicated should put them in the bottom. The canvas passing out is not in the control of the artist.

@@autumnautopsy but this show also is about being hospitable to your canvas and she seemed nervous to me. I get it it can be stressful when you have less time and too much work but your job id also to make them understand you not tell them what you'll be doing.

i agree to an extent but im my opinion i think the girl should’ve went to a normal tattoo parlor to get this done not a competition where someone is on the line 😭😭 that’s just me

Tbh unless your bone skinny like me your tatto artist shouldn't complain like it's the easiest part to tattoo and make it look good just by the shape alone
