@@MummaBleep I saw the episode of Mormon Stories, interviewing Jodi’s niece, Jesse…. Not sure if that’s the one you’re referring to because I think there have been several people come out regarding their history with Jodi. But the one with her niece was heartbreaking to watch and also very eye opening regarding the historical pattern of abuse Jodi has left in her wake…all the way down to the duct tape! The number of lives that women has single handedly destroyed without anyone ever stepping in to stop her is staggering. With Ruby she simply found a very willing and able accomplice. They’re both sickening.

@AWanderingEye

I think the "abuse" is what led up to the boy running to the neighbors after escaping Jodie's home. He was in the custody of his mother when he was left there so Ruby is also charged. Her husband didn't have custody during that period and (presumably) did not know the children were being held at Jodie's house. It will be interesting to learn what Ruby was doing during this timeframe. The videos we're seeing now are not what led to the charges against Ruby and Jodie. Yes, this channel's content definitely shows signs of abuse; and yes, the father is complicit in that, but the charges were for what occurred on that afternoon in that neighborhood. Will he get charged? We can only hope that justice will prevail and both he and Jodie (whose history is much graver than even these charges) will get what is coming for them.

She gets off on torturing the children. She is a sadist. She did it before she met Jodi H, and it only worsened over time. Her husband was doing this right along her side until a year ago. Regardless of whether or not he lived in the home for the last year, he is still responsible for the well-being of his children. The Mormon church recommended Jodi H to couples who needed counseling, couples whose lives she ruined. People complained to the Mormon authorities about Jodi, and nothing was done. You should listen to the interview of Jodi H's niece, where she described how Jodi treated her like Ruby treated her children; starvation, duct tape, punishments of all kinds. Two sick sadists, Rudy and Jodi, found each other. For those not in the US, you must understand that in many places in Utah, Mormons are the government and the law and cover for each other. It starts with the Mormon cult and gets twisted with people like these two.
@NurseEvie
@NurseEvie 10 месяцев назад
thats actually awful, as someone living in the UK I had no idea the extent of this disgusting behaviour. That the Mormon authorities do nothing about it is infuriating, there are probably good people within the Mormon community that try to speak out but there's so much corruption by psychopaths like Ruby and Jodi that they get ignored.

Ruby is a sadist. Constant infliction of abuse, guilt, and shame. I also see that Chad, Russell, and Eve seem to get the worst treatment. I think the boys are just more energetic and harder to control, and Eve not only has ADHD, which Ruby doesn't think is real, but I think she had Eve after a couple of miscarriages. Instead of being grateful to have Eve, however, it seems like she's particularly resentful of Eve...

it brings me so much peace, and relief, to see people clearly point out & stand against out the toxic behaviours and horrific parenting of Ruby, Kevin (her husband) & Jodi (her business partner). the things these kids went through may seem 'insane' or 'obviously wrong' to most people - but there are more parents out there like this than people realize. my parents were (and still are) like this. i grew up in a VERY similar home, just without religion and on a farm. i was completely isolated from the rest of the world, i wouldn't be fed meals if i misbehaved/had to pack my own lunches as a small child, i had my access to hygiene & proper sleep taken away as a 'punishment', was physically abused and much more. the earliest memory i have is of being locked outside my home in the middle of the night for 'being bad' and pounding on the door, begging & screaming for my parents to let me back in, terrified that the coyotes i heard in the distance might come get me. i was 3-4 yrs old. these things WERE NORMAL TO ME growing up, and no one could have convinced me that my parents were the ones acutally in the wrong. i still believed i had been the one at fault even into the beginning of my adulthood. it took a lot of therapy, and distance from my abusers, for me to realize that what happened to me was inherently cruel, abusive, and NOT my fault. just remember that not every parent loves their child. it is NOT the natural default, it should be, but it isn't. the reality is that *some* people truly hate and DO NOT CARE about their children. i wish the best for these kids ❤ i hope they get to live safe and happy lives now that she's gone.

Eve was actually six in the Lunchgate fiasco. And those camps do not even employ genuine therapists, much less any medical professionals. My stepsister got sent to a "therapy" military-esque boarding school. She came back more traumatized than before. For context: she was adopted and was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder as well as Oppositional Defiant Disorder and, later, came a BPD diagnosis. Living with her could be a trip but she didn't deserve what they put her through. Edit: I believe "hit" (in the video about eating) means "a hit of dopamine/serotonin." As in the reward pathways in the brain activate, reinforcing the behavior.

Utah is a terrible place. I grew up in a mormon family and a lot of this is completely normal for mormons. A lot don't take it to the physical extremes like Ruby, but they sure do psychologically beat down on their children. A lot of therapists in Utah will actually recommend parents abuse their children if they're acting out. My therapist told my parents to take away my phone forever, cut me off from any friends I had, at one point they took away my bedroom for months, and many more horrifying practices. I at least had a bed but still you get the gist of just how terrible it is. Utah is a hard place to grow up.

What’s crazy is she brought him to house and wasn’t sneaking off to a back alley or something. What a way to smother trust and communication and safety. Probably made her regret not lying to her parents. Probably wishes she had been sneaky. Parents really need to grow up, your kids are going to grow up regardless

My mother was just like Ruby Franke when I was growing up, almost everything i've lived through. Me and my sister are no contact with them as adults and have severe trauma. I can't even remember my childhood because i've repressed the memories. Some people really shouldn't be parents, Ruby is def one of those people.

They implemented the thumbprint thing later in elementary school, having had a number you punched in before that. If the thumbprint reader didn’t work, you still had to punch in your number in time or it’d cancel your lunch “purchase.” I will probably remember entering 3346415 in a panic the rest of my life.

When I was struggling really badly with an ED, my parents noticed and started making my favorite foods to encourage me to at least eat something. They wouldn't let me pack my own lunches because when I did I didn't really put anything in there, and checked my bag when I got home to check that I ate. Like for fucks sake don't encourage an ED in your child. That's so not okay. Encourage healthy eating and healthy amounts of exercise but don't tell them to starve themselves. That's so disgusting.

A female body need 2000 calories to sustain weight. Anything below starts weight loss. A teen growing and changing hormonally, going to school burning so much energy and in a calorie deficit. Forced to aim and focus on unhealthy numbers. Horrific

calorie requirements vary enormously with age as well as with gender. You can't use 2k as a measure of much. My teenage son needs 17K kj, I need 6. (divide by 4 for calories.
@k.stacey7389
@k.stacey7389 10 месяцев назад
That’s an extreme simplification. Every body will have different needs. A sedentary middle age 5’1” woman won’t need anywhere near that much, a younger, taller and more athletic woman could have twice those needs.

So what she didn't mention is the fact that IF those kids are allowed to make phone calls (most of them are not allowed based on my own research, I've been interested in the whole Troubled Teen Industry or TTI,) those counselors are RIGHT NEXT TO THEM monitoring what they're saying. They AREN'T ALLOWED TO MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE THEY'RE HAVING!!!! So for her to share that is just doubly misleading.

At my schools they always had the fingerprint paying system too, I assumed every school had it. 35:00 what she means by hit is like a high, some type of fulfillment by not eating, it’s common in EDs when people fast as long as they can, they get a type of “good” feeling that they continue to strive to get && it’s only able to be reached by not eating. EDs r really complex.
