Tough chase yesterday from Holbrook to Whiteriver. Visibility flashed me back to some 2019 Texas Panhandle days. Then lagging instability and a boundary intersection that wouldn't stay lit forced a run into the trees along the Rim for added fun. Finally managed to tour the cores of a couple rotating storms within the masses of trees. Video of one north of Whiteriver with tiny, Arizona-sized rear & forward flanks with a little wall cloud mashed between - my take on it anyway. Nothing more than quarter inch hail on the part of it I sampled. It managed stronger reflectivity once it scrounged off into the woods.

Wow. Nice video. I tried to follow the convergent line along the Coldfront down Lake Mary Road yesterday. Hit some hail around the Ashurst Lake turn off, but had to get back to work in Flagstaff. Wish I could have followed the convergent line futher down. Glad you got a good capture and good experience of it Jeremy. Thanks for sharing once again. Quite an interesting set up with this particular Upper Level dynamics and strong Coldfront alingnment, as the dynamical set up allowed for 2 convergent zones to form to the lee side (southeast) of San Francisco Peaks Tuesday morning. There was one convergent zone that developed west to east along I 40 near Twin Arrows, and another between Bellemont and Kachina Village, which ultimately merged to the southeast along Lake Mary Road points east at one point. Was interesting to watch in person and on that radar loop too

It was tough. I barely saw even that. I was hoping the cold front would send something out along that east-west boundary you were pacing, but it wanted nothing to do with that idea. I think the smoke really drove down forecast instability. Your area further west looked better for instability, but I opted out due to trees...but then wound up in all the trees at the end anyway lol
