Honestly Jules could be giving us a weekly list on an old wireless and I'd still tune in to listen to his rants and presenting keep up the great work bud
Beatmania IIDX: your reward for trying is persistent joint pain in at least one hand, and the odd feeling that, hmm, your ring finger shouldn't tingle like that.
Interestingly enough? Vampire Survivors, of all things! The difficulty level actively scales with your character level. If you DON'T try.....the bosses near the end are EASIER. Just too funny. :D
Heya J would since you always leave us with a lovely message would love a top X of games with a lovely message. Celeste being a perfect example but my suggestion on a DEEP CUT BAAAAABEEEEEYYYYYYYY is Biphase.
7th Saga was the bane of my existence when I was younger. I was mid-level when I got to the boss and kept losing. So I'd level up and try again. And over and over until I maxed out my levels and got totally destroyed, seemingly faster. I decided it was impossible and gave it to a neighbor, never to attempt again. It still shows up in my nightmares.
Level scaling enemies is a hard balancing formula to get down. It either makes leveling obsolete or detrimental. But its an attempted solution to how overgrinding can break a game. Pick your poison
For reference they called Mushihimesama Futari, Bug Princess 2, meaning it's the 2nd game. Also I did get that Dreamcast warning thing translated but failed to get around to uploading it. Will do so eventually.
As someone who really enjoys grinding inRPGs as a form of zen, I dislike it constantly being referred to as “try-hard”. I don’t need to be ten levels above someone, I just enjoy listening to RU-vid videos (like this one) while just zoning out.
Yeah, I find grinding on the world map to be very soothing. Yeah, it can be cool to one shot bosses because I wind up overleved, but I mostly I just find it very relaxing after a long day or when I need to think something through and need some baseline activity to keep me focused.
Jules mentioning Disco Elyslium again is the same as Jess talking about Dragon Age Inquisition. Somehow both those games weasel their way on the list every time
Late to the party because I had major surgery on Friday so I haven't been really watching anything till this evening. Thanks for always putting a smile on my face 💜
The parade of silly failures near the beginning of Disco Elysium makes things all the more intensely satisfying by the later acts of the game when you've managed to get your stats up and are doing cool things like being able to reconstruct a crime scene, pulling information from people, empathetically connecting to fellow humans and successfully interrogate inanimate objects.
Oh my god, I've actually heard of the game at number one! I think I learned about it back in high school (13 years ago now, god I feel old) where I had a bit of bullet hell phase. What a flashback you've given me Jules.
Holy crap Jules! Tactics Ogre?!? Jess would appreciate the Disco Elysium call-out and I always love a Torment mention.. but Tactics Ogre?.. that's a deep cut BaBy 😂
Vagrant Story mentioned, neuron activation! I swear I would lose my goddam mind if SE ever decided to remaster that game, but considering they seem to hate all of Matsuno's masterpieces there is no chance in hell Vagrant Story will get a remake.
This is why I start with the 1-1-5-5 build in Disco Elysium & only improve/focus on the FYS & MOT from there. It’s essentially the canon build of the game. INT & PSY checks make little to no sense, due to the sort of character you’re canonically playing as.
Love the videos I try to watch all of yours that I can but I really need to know if anybody else besides me has heard or owns a copy of the video game for PlayStation 3 that's the version that I own called mindjack
I don't understand why people who grind levels are called "try hards". When I over level in a rpg it is so I wont have to try hard. I think that guy who played Dark Souls on a Guitar Hero controller was a try hard. Also every body can enjoy games in their own way. Gatekeeping is toxic.
Save yourself some pain next time and go for the english title after the first pronunciation wrangling. Mushihime-sama = Bug Princess. Take your own advice and be kinder to yourself. 😁
