Me too. I am also facing the same issue. I bought a Lenovo laptop a couple of days ago and my battery drains like crazy. Even when I am not running any app.
My laptop drains it's battery while it's off. I switched it off and then i charged it to 90% and then i didn't use it for more 24 hours. when i turned it on 2 days later, the battery was at 31%. How do you explain that. It was off and not on sleep. I also just got windows 11.
Me too... facing the same issue on windows 11 brand new laptop battery drains even laptop is shut down situation from 100% to 2% just in 12hours.... I'm shocked....is it common issue???
A few suggestions were actually good. I had no clue about the powershell commands. Thank You. It is still an undeniable fact that Windows 11 is more power hungry than Windows 10 especially for those who updated their PCs via OTA update.
1) use lower screen brightness 2) undervolt CPU/IGPU , use throttlestop application for this and also make speedstep 255, disable turbo boost. 3) change max processing power from 100% to 50% or lower in windows power options. 4) disable apps that run in background such as onedrive, google drive, dropbox, adobe etc. 5) close apps you dont use much don't just leave them running minimized. 6) sleep some apps as in video.
Good tips, but they are all when the latop is running. my problem is when the laptop is in shutdown mode. I am facing the same problem. New HP laptop Spectre laptop. WFH hence connected all day, every evening I shutdown and in the morning it's about 50% battery drained. Weekend it goes to 0%. I have the fast startup and hibernation options disabled. This is really annoying as will always need a charger around. My 4-year-old Surface book 2 still keeps most of the battery charge about 1-2% drain overnight in shutdown. I used to manually drain the battery (use on battery till 5%) once a month to keep the battery healthy.

I want to use windows 11 with full performance and full resolution, without battery drains. I want a laptop which last longer battery life without requiring to optimize to save battery.
Not solving the problem. All those people who upgraded to windows 11 are having massive power drain even in battery Saver mode. Like a 3-4 hour less battery in Windows 11. I earlier had an battery life of 6-8 hrs on casual work like studying, watching videos, programming. I have Dell Inspiron 5406 i5 2 in 1 model. But when I upgraded to windows 11 my battery life was around 2-3 hrs only. Even it is on best battery saver mode. Your solutions are not working.
1. I have changed power plan 2. Turned on battery saver 3. Turn on " best efficiency" 4. Switched to quiet mode ( omen comman center ). 5. Uninstalled many apps 6. Reduced screen brightness to 20% 7. Using graphic card it's recommended to plug in Ur charger .. it's obvious while using graphic card battery will drain very fast .if u want better performance disable graphic card from device manager - display-
Hi, I purchased new laptop. Dell G 15 5520 i5 12th gen 16Gb.From 1st day onwards I'm getting a battery drop of 1℅ per minute. I checked task manager, cpu at 1℅, Dedicated Graphics 0℅, memory 5.8GB, WiFi 0 KBps, Integrated GPU 0℅. No external devices connected while testing reports. Design capacity of battery is 54,891mWh, Full charge of capacity is 52030mWh ( which reducing every next day). A total of just 100 min of backup I get on STAND BY MODE(which is with only display onn and no other function on it) I I talk with Dell and they finally agreed that this laptop should give 3-4 hrs of backup on stand by mode. And they ready to replace with new battery.I kindly request you to share your opinion on this scenario that is my battery has a problem? And if yes then should I allow dell to replace battery of new laptop or should I opt for complete laptop replacement? Waiting...for your reply my friend.
@@snehachattoraj4819 Hi, I asked Dell for replacement of the laptop instead of changing it with new battery. And the new laptop battery is better than the previous one. As its gaming laptop is designed in such a way that we have to always keep it on charging while playing games. As games need more processing power which cannot be generated through only with battery.

For the last tip, powercfg/energy, my laptop stops at "observing system behavior", it never get to analyzing data and provide me report. How to fix this?
Mine does EXACTLY the same. "powercfg /energy" are you putting the 1 space between powercfg and /? Then energy directly after / so "energy is a yellow colour only?

I have a asus tuf fx 504 i7 model it drains battery a lot and after trying too many ideas but never opened task manager to see are there any background apps running at last when I opened task manager and sat for 10-15 minutes I was astonished by the amount of background process win 11 has too many malware removal tools and antivirus tools which use nearly 27% of cpu sometimes so it is common in win 11 mine is 4 year old model and I have a connection developed with it my battery is fine it is the windows 11 and its background apps that drains the battery

press WINDOWS key + R and then copy (the command generated with energy report.html in end given like C:\....etc) and then press ok to generate power efficiency report...
Actually, there is one more way to fix battery drain issue on Windows 11. Just don't use your laptop. Easy. I think the title of this video should be '8 Ways to Limit Battery Usage on Windows 11 Laptops'. Your ways are not fixing the drain issue, but limiting the battery usage.
