Well worth the money for the totes . My tractor, forks and totes have saved me a lot of work... Less touches to get the wood to the stove. Let the machine do the work.👍👍
You will for sure use the forks a lot. I don’t have the Kubota ones as the dealer had Berlon forks as the were in stock. I couldn’t be happier. They are manufactured only 60 miles from my home at Hustisford, Wi. It’s one of the go to things I have. Mine are 42 inch forks like yours. The only problem is seeing them, but you will get used to them. Good purchase.
Thanks for mentioning our channel, Ed. We love using the IBC totes for firewood. You’ll wonder what you ever did before having those forks. I use mine all the time. The forks are what I have on my front end loader I’d estimate 80% of the time. Good choice on the larger IBC totes. If they’re the 330 gallon ones, they make almost exactly 1/3 of a cord stacked to the top. So 3 full 330 gallon totes make 1 cord of firewood. I’m glad you found a supplier for them. They can be addicting once you discover how convenient mobile firewood storage is, and how many other potential uses there are for the totes. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much, Chad. I wish I found the deal that you did, but at least I only have to drive a few minutes to get them. I’m excited to finally have the forks. Happy new year to you and Jennifer!
Dr. Evil! I haven't seen a kubota deal that also carries LS yet. that 2601 narrow has high pucker factor Sweet Forks! Not a bad price on the Totes Sweet Drive Over shot! Wow lucked out on getting the last set of forks! Nice Vid and thanks for posting!
"One hunnndred dollars". I literally laughed out loud! Also, love the music, style, shots and edits of this one Ed...little details like the zoom-in on the turn signal and "closed sign really worked! Regarding the forks, I laughed because I did exactly what you did the first time I hooked mine up...left the paperwork attached! Figuring out when the forks are level and finding the tips can be a real challenge at first, and I too have bumped the ground with my load as well. But it comes quickly and you're gonna' love 'em! 👍😎👏
I too will be picking up a set of pallet forks. The first problem I have to solve is really not a bad situation. I keep all of my implements indoors but now I am running out of floor space. The plan is to buy some industrial grade shelving and stack three implements in the floor space of one. Of course there are many other uses also.
Great intro music and editing! Pallet forks are very handy, 👍 I use mine a lot in the summer. I think a would knock that narrow kubota over if tried to drive it 🤣 happy New Year 🎊🎈
That's a good idea for the tote I was thinking kind of the same thing rig it up for the 3-point make a carry-all out of it to haul firewood up to the house
Our local tractor dealer (8 miles) is an LS and TYM(?). We looked at them first and kept looking, first at JD 40 miles away before looking at Kubota 55 miles from home. We chose the Kubota for everything from price, support, comfort, and dealership friendliness.
Wow that's a long wait for pallet Forks my dealer got forks and other attachments stacked 3 High.... now if they would only get some front end loaders shipped in LOL
Can’t wait to see all the uses you have for the forks you will find ! Mine are on my tractor about 90% of the time QUESTION ask your followers on Monday night what they do with their plastic inserts mine were used for mulch die as well and some of them have die still in them so I don’t know if it’s hazardous to the environment and or if you just cut them up and dispose of them after you dump the die. Other suggestion is the first time you load up the firewood I would only go halfway up and see how your loaderhandles it Mine will not lift a full load of firewood only about 3/4 the way up at the most Have Fun Good video !
I just picked up my 2nd load of 26, 275 gallon totes this morning. I’m probably gonna pick up at least two more loads,…maybe four. They’re not free. But, you can buy a lot for $15 a piece.
Happy New Year Ed 👌👍😇 That is giant pile of Mush WOOD 😮 That is very nice LS tractor 👍👌😉 Nice narrow wineries tractor 👌🧐 You will fall in love with these forks and you are pretty good at it move them 👌😉 SO you will be able to put all your OUSTANDING implements on wood pallets for under circulations Sir 👌👍 FULL WATCH LIKE ALWAYS 🧐👌👍 and Can't wait to eat your chocolat bar that you mail 😋😋😋 Have a VERY NICE DAY SIR and thank you very kindly CHeers 👍👌🧐😉🍻
Happy new year. You said pucker for the narrow Kubota...I had pucker when you showed your gas pump! Now that's pucker power I try not to look at total just grab receipt hurts a little less later to look at it.
Happy New Year Ed!!.. No snow & green grass, not the norm for January 1st.. It's -9 degrees with 8" of snow cover here in west central Wisconsin.. Have a nice weekend.. Always enjoy your videos.. Keep up the great work..🎅
Thank you Terry. We just never know here. Mostly mild winters lately but we can still get hit anytime. Especially if you guys send it down here! Happy new year!
I was cracking up at the " One Hundred Dollars" and again at the closed sign. Great video Ed Happy New Year. I was just sitting here thinking that I haven't heard anything from Rd since last year.
Heyhey Ed pallet forks are a great addition to your arsenal. I noticed that KTAC must have let you keep the old loader, you should sell it to pay for the forks. LOL Take care
let me start by saying I love your videos and your content. For a guy who just quoted the pucker factor earlier in the video, I'm surprised you're driving around with your ROPS down. Just friendly advice, you need your ROPS when you least expect it. Stay safe.
Thanks very much! They will indeed come in handy. I was a bit surprised that they are a bit challenging to use. I’m sure I’ll be comfortable in no time though. Happy new year!
Happy new year, thise totes are awesome for firewood storage but they can be hard to deal with. Mike Morgan weighted it with green wood and it was 1600lbs. But those pallet forks are really nice for odd jobs around the property. Looking forward to Monday nights live stream.
Great video - Make sure you keep the top of the bladder to use as a cover for the fire wood. Sawz-all makes quick work of the plastic and the material can be recycled if you don't have too much dye left over. I have 16 totes from my local supplier all used for firewood.
Thanks Ed and happy New Year. Soon after I got my JD2038 my son-in-law told me I HAD TO GET pallet forks. Wow was he right and I wondered how I ever got along without them. So handy for moving stuff around and brush/log handling. I call it my poor man’s grapple. You’ll learn to watch the top end of the fork to give you feedback on what’s happening up front. On the IBC totes watch out that you don’t overload them so much you can’t pick them up the tote. You’ll just have to experiment with it.
I use mine for firewood and loaded the first one full with oak wood and couldn’t come close to lifting it with my B2601. Suggest you load half full and check the lift. If it lifts then add wood until you can barely lift then remove some wood to get it right.
Great video, Ed. I like the vlog style. I'm glad you got forks because I've been on the fence for a while. Now I can see how you use them. :) Have a wonderful new year, my friend!
Thanks David. They will definitely do things that the grapple and the bucket won’t, so they have their place. I can tell you already that I would recommend them! Happy new year!
Nice to see you pulled the trigger on some forks ( nice ones too). I cheaped out on my forks and regret that decision. I looked into an LS tractor but couldnt pull the trigger due to parts availability. Happy new year Ed! -Richie
Thanks Richie! I know they will definitely come in handy. There’s generally not that much tractor time here in the winter because of mud, but I know I’ll use them a lot this summer!
Do like MJA and make them work on the 3 point, I use mine on three point for moving pallets more then the front. The lift capacity is almost double. Make 1 set of top link hole parallel to lift arms when level.. 2nd top link hole 3 inch higher..
The LS tractors are contracted out to the cheapest bidder on part suppliers and manufacturers, Then assembled in Rockymount, NC plant. I think there a Japan owned company. Can’t remember. Been told there good tractors until they brake and you can’t find parts. Just my two cents ED.
Thanks much! I have no plans to buy one, but I have confidence that my local dealer would not jeopardize their reputation by selling anything they couldn’t service or provide parts for. Still, I’m kind of a “name brand” snob for now 😂
I think everyone can agree that pallet forks are very useful, but I think my next investment will be a grapple. I know their expensive and you need a 3rd function valve, also costly but once you shell out the money, a very good implement. Gonna be a great 2022 Ed, Happy New Year buddy.
Don’t know nothing about the LS equipment but I’m a John Deere fan ion a 2038R Love the tractor but then forks they work awesome I have a set in the very handy happy New Year’s great video
Happy New Year Ed. Your gonna love having forks. Not sure what I’d do without them. I get the 275 gallons totes, but that’s only because they are the only size I found around here. Would rather have the bigger ones but ave not found any for reasonable price or availability.
Congrats on the new forks Ed! Maybe one of those totes would work as a man or woman bucket to do some up higher work! Nice New Years gift to yourself. 😀
Did I see you actually pumping your own gas in the Garden State? Growing up there it was a super no-no. After being gone many years I was back visiting the in-laws; pulled in, jumped out, stuck the nozzle in my vehicle, then heard somebody screaming at me. An attendant came running from the building yelling STOP! He let me know I could be in trouble and he could be fired - I didn't tell him a grew up in NJ, he saw my Wyoming plates and said there is no self pumping in the state. When did that change? Nice trailer, can you remove the lift gate? Mine is off more than on. Makes it much easier to load/unload with pallet forks. As Chad said, you will love those pallet forks when you get used to them. Hit the tips with orange paint, makes them easier to see. You just need to reapply periodically as it will rub off.
Hi Jim. The gate can come off. Great point about being easier to load without the gate in place. I didn’t “pump” my own gas. I just removed the nozzle from my truck. I’ve been “yelled at” too, haha. Thanks for watching and for your comments. I love NJ, but it sure can’t compare to the beauty of Wyoming. Happy new year! -Ed
I will be curious to see how the tractor handles the large totes when they are full of wood or if the small tote would have been a better fit for your tractor size? Yet, you can always not load as much into the large totes if they prove to heavy. We have got a set of forks and found lots of little projects that they have helped with. Number one being unloading pallets. The second is using a man basket on them allowing us to get up higher to trim, clean gutters, and make elevated repair.
Boy I’d be nervous using a man-basket. Do they have anything that prevents dumping, or do you just have to be very careful? I’m thinking I will definitely not be able to fill these totes to the top!
@@MyClutteredGarage The basket secures to the loader and the basket has tie-off points so if you would hit a bump or the operator would decide to dump you, you would stay in the basket.
Like everyone else and myself included, you'll love them forks, smart purchase. Hey Ed, do you ever get much snow there and what's your average "winter " temperature. It looks like comfortable working outside weather.
Hi Mike. It’s hit or miss. We haven’t had significant cold or major snow for several years. We used to ice skate on ponds and lakes but they barely freeze these days. We can get some days in the 20’s F but not usually more than a few in a row. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen though! You won’t hear this guy complaining about no snow 😄
I'm thinking of getting one to water my trees young trees. I need to get of rear forks of something to put it on the 3-point. I wonder if there is a cheaper option.
You can find “food grade” totes that would be great for water. Keep in mind that 275 gallons is 2,200 pound. So depending on the size of your tractor, you’ll want to limit the size or fill level. 3 point forks may indeed be a great option for this application. Happy new year!
Isn't the 2401 made for vineyards to go between the rows? I would have that thing flipped in no time, I live near the Smoky Mountains in the hills of SE Tennessee. My 2601 is wearing 3" spacers in the rear with Rim Guard and 1.5" on the front. If anyone is considering this it helps tremendously. Something else that helps is the Gorilla Tailgate Lift for trailers. My tailgate is heavy and the lift is set on half power. It was easy to install and saves an old man's back. Another thought on the totes for firewood. What if ya leave the tank inside the frame for a covering your wood? Cut the side out as in the original plans just cut the tank also. Maybe leave a few inches of plastic on the top and sides to retain the shape and for strength? Happy New Year
All great points. Makes sense what you say about the B2401. It’s pretty flat here, but I’d still like wheel spacers. Interesting idea about the tote. People often cut the top off and use it as a lid to cover the wood. That way the air can still flow through and season the firewood. Thanks for watching, and happy new year!
@@MyClutteredGarage I'm showing my inexperience with firewood I didn't know ya seasoned it. We've had the sliding doors open all day trying to cool the house without AC. It's 6:30 PM and still 72 degrees, I'm lovin this global warming. I can't change it so I might as well be content. :)
Happy New Year, Ed! Congrats on getting pallet forks. I think you’ll quickly wonder how you ever got along without them. Those are some big IBC totes. What are your plans for the liquid containers after you separate them from the cages?
Thank you, Martin. Happy new year to you and yours as well! Someone in the comments said that the containers are recyclable. I’ll have to look to see if there’s a number one or number two stamped on there. Otherwise, I will probably cut the bottom section off and use it as a lid. Got any ideas?
@@MyClutteredGarage Well, they might be used to store liquid (like rain catchers for gutters) if they’re strong enough without the cage. Let us know what you decide to do with them.
OK, a couple questions: how will you remove the bladders? How often do you have to fill your truck with gas? and How much were the pallet forks? Happy new year.
Hi Margaret. I think the bladders lift out. I may need to hook it to my pallet forks and pull it out! 😄 Lucky I don’t have to drive much or fill up often! The pallet forks cost $800, which is a good deal for a Land Pride product. Happy new year!
Nice video! Do you happen to know the distance between the two rails that the forks hook to? I’m trying to figure out if these fork tines would fit on a carriage I have.
I've always been a bit partial toward GM and have had good experiences. I've owed all the major brands but only one new vehicle in my life - and that was a 1987 GMC. I bought this 2014 silverado in 2018. That's pretty new for me considering the last one was a 1997 WT1500!
I don’t think you can fill the totes up with green oak and move them with your tractor. I have a L3240 and have a hard time moving them. Also make sure you have lots of ballast. Keep the video coming and happy new year.
Thanks Ken. I was thinking they would weigh white a bit filled. I’ll have to do some experimenting. Maybe the smaller size would have been better? Happy new year!
Not sure what I'd use one of those for, maybe if you installed a pump and hose on one you could use it for an emergency fire suppression hose...otherwise, what would you use them for?
@@MyClutteredGarage Ok, thanks. I'd assume not for drinking water though considering the ones you got had dyes in them, and I'm sure others have chemicals, and pesticides in them possibly? Wondering if you could put one on a trailer or back of a truck and fill it with water to use if you live in an area prone to wild fires, or just to help control a burn pile possibly, which is kind of what I was thinking of doing with one, as I have a burn pile that I have to keep a close eye on sometimes and some water close by would be very useful.
I have a l2501 and it struggles with the smaller totes full of oak. I modified my pallet forks to work on the 3 point, it feels much safer carrying the totes.
@@MyClutteredGarage I ordered a quick attach for my tractor but it’s been a waiting game. Been months. Dealer can’t get it. Should have bought tractor with one but dealer was out at the time. So it just pin it on for now!
