The breakout with the 117 and a bigger tank looks amazing but I've have it in the black with orange detail. Honestly the Breakout and Low Rider S are the only bikes in the range that I'd consider but not at Harley prices.
yes , the breakout is the standout upgrade , never liked the old ones looks , but in that orange they have nailed it ;;; --- now where can i find 25 grand ?
They need to lean on the nightster lineup more with a wider range of variations (Cafe Style like the one they teased a few years ago), maybe a street tracker, and definitely the Bronx needs to happen. Trouble is, with Harley wanting to be a "premium" brand, the Jap bike rider that they're trying to get to jump ship mainly cares about bang for the buck, something HD will never compete with. Side note; Still have yet to see a Sportster S or Nightster on the road, even at swap meets and shows where there's a ton of Harley's. I do see them often for sale with 700 miles on them though.
They could if the boomer pressure against it wasn’t there. I see many street triples out on the weekends and even some streetfighters or monsters. Just gotta have the quality to go with the price.
My mate has a Breakout, in Canada. Nice looking bike, loud as hell. I had a go around some rural roads, not the easiest thing to get around a corner! Saying that, 5 of us went for a ride out to the west coast, 4 sports/sports tourers and him and they couldn’t lose him. He threw that thing around amazingly! Didn’t have much legs left at the end though. 😁
Nice vid. I'm starting to appreciate some Harley's more in my old age & the Breakout looks great. Although all far too expensive imo & they would have to be a second or even third bike for me which is never going to happen so no chance I will own one any time soon but still very cool.
Amazing work is done by Harley Davidson. ❤ the new Breakout and the Fat boy. Thanks for sharing another great video. Congratulations Harley Davidson on a 100 year anniversary!
Harley should make a calendar of just those gorgeous tanks for those of us who can only dream about filling them up and heading toward a western sunset. Or maybe I'll just buy a T-shirt if they make one. Really nice work and I even like that subtle nod to the '70S AMF years on one of them. They've done no wrong with these.
"Mean and Aggressive" is not a term that anyone I know would use to describe a three wheeler. Maybe you really meant to save that comment for the new Breakout.
I consider myself a quintessential Harley, American muscle connoisseur, I am not impressed at all this year with color schemes, but what really upsets me is price tags I feel they are just out of control. As always excellent video moto Bob.
Its kinda funny, I love Harley Davidson bikes and have a Twing Cam Road King and have had a Dyna and a Sportster. These new bikes dont do it for me and are just insanely priced! Now i much prefer the older bikes and am going to sell my Road King to buy a Softail with the 1340cc Evo engine and a carb! They just sound so much better and are easy to work on and the Evo motor is probably the best motor they ever made. Now the question is a Springer or a Fat boy? :p
I honestly think this “Anniversary” pricing is ridiculous! It’s literally just their same basic Harley parts with a new paint job. HOW!?? 50k!? FOR A BASIC ROADGLIDE!! WITH A PAINT JOB! WHO is buying these paint jobs!?? 👁️👄👁️
I‘m happy that I bought an Original Harley made in America five years ago. Since the changing of the gerneral Management and the new way, It‘s Not my way of Harley Davidson. I‘m from Germany.
So true, most videos l have seen is nothing more than pushing new paint colours. Still no electronic windshield on the touring models. HD is really falling behind the Indian motorcycles. For a 120 anniversary release, Harley really dropped the ball imho. Cheers.
Really hoped for and expected a Road King Standard in the 120th group. And instead it's dropped altogether in a milestone year. For me, best bike in the lineup, part of the joy is seeing the whole road immediately in front of me. There have been so ways to keep that unfaired tourer fresh, interesting and relevant other than blacking it out into a custom.
It's the 2023 account cruiser deluxe and the homo on the downlow glide. Harley Davidson: The most efficient way to convert gasoline to noise, without the adverse effect of horse power.
I’ve owned 4 Harleys and I loved them all. They were incredible and the quality of paint and finishes and details are miles above a brand like Indian, which is really cheaply made. This summer I bought a Ducati Scrambler and it’s weird as hell but it’s my favorite bike I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned quite a few. I can’t believe I waited this long to own a Ducati. If you’re reading this comment and haven’t experienced a Ducati you should figure out how to do that because they really make a great handling product and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I was done with Harley after I sold my Street Glide. Took a year off from riding and bought a Triumph. HD teased the Bronx Street fighter and then failed to deliver. I ordered a Triumph ST Moto2 so, no more HD for me.
Harleys are expensive but they really are extraordinary. I think they could position themselves even higher in the market where there is less price sensitivity, and save their butt.
Selling numbers for Nightster were dissapointing for HD so they will try to liven it up bringing newer versions every now and then but this won't help Im telling ya and it will die eventually like 750 died. It missess a lot of HD charakter and does not answer built quality needs either imho.
Imma be honest dude , this was not the video i waited . I have been waiting for the honda cl500 or royal enfield super meteor 650 videos since EICMA. Im gonna make my choice for my first bike from your videos . Nevertheless awesome video
You do the best job of presenting a bike's positives and deficiencies without slamming the manufacture. I appreciate that. I like the Breakout but at the price point Ducati Diavel, BMW S 1000 XR or Triumph Tiger are in that game for me and the Harley would not win.
The Breakout has been my favourite HD for a while but it's now basically the same price as a Triumph Rocket 3 and I'm sorry but as big and bad as the Breakout is, it's no Rocket 3.
Whatever happened to the Sportser S ? It at least comes in some new colors or am I wrong ? I like the commercial clip with the two girls on the nightster, but the bike feels a bit cramped :) I think I stick to my Ducati Mts V4s
If I had the money to spend on one of these, I wouldn't. Sorry, that's me. Finish is lovely and they probably runs (for a cruiser) great. That Nightster is really not looking good. Remove the name and they would...well, I just say thank you mr Bob!
New? Where? Extremely expensive paintjobs on a few existing bikes, a couple of accessories on another and… voila. In the meantime, they jumped off the cliff in terms of pricing. Harley is good, they almost achieved to make the Diavel and the Rocket 3 seem affordable… although they are way better in terms of tech…
CVO scratch the paint and it;s totaled! It happened to me on a 2003 Anniversaty RK, Went down at low speeds into the ditch. Chrome won't get ya home and paint is just ego
I've been a Harley fan my entire life. But this is a new low for Harley Davidson. Only one CVO with only ONE color, rebadging, same motors, NOTHING NEW! The only bike I'm excited about was the breakout 117, that's the bike I'm planning on getting. the anniversary models are lacking badly, I like the paint, I give them that, but there's no difference between the models! It's just the same paint and badging throughout! I've been hearing rumors about an Electra glide highway king, and that bike was confirmed by Harley too! And I pray to god that it gets a mid year release. Overall, I'm highly disappointed in Harley Davidson this year.
I have been observing the development of Harleys for the entire 50 years of my motorcycling life. There are several constants over this whole time; (1) over weight (2) over price (3) archaic design and (4) archaic looks. It's a niche market for sure. Soon, however, the well-off Boomers who have supported it will be retiring from riding (just look at the boom in Trikes) and Harley stock will evolve from it's static state of the last decade to a fast falling lump.
I read an interview the other day with the German guy who now runs Harley. He said that in the future they will be an all electric company. I don't think he cares if they sell any petrol powered bikes or not. It will just speed up their move to all electric if he can use poor sales as a reason to drop petrol powered machines.
New Harleys just aren't worth the money unfortunately. Only rich guys and club riders have new bikes here in California that's why the Dyna market is so high.
Some of them still have brake discs missing from the front wheel can't understand why this is not a euro 5 compliant safety issue fail and also having to take your eyes of the road to look at the guages mounted on the fuel tank apart from that great looking bikes
I belong to developing asian country, here the roads are not sleeky and shimmery, here the roads are of bumps and potholes and 110 mm ground clearance is not practical thats the reason its not striving in asian markets
If you did your motorcycle research and you were a thinking man, you would steer well clear of Harly Davidson, who really wants an underpowered overweigh way over priced bike that doesnt go around corners.
Or spend half or less on a better bike, that happens to not have the bar and shield. Why I had any hope they were actually going to try something different, rather than slap some red paint on the current models that haven’t impressed the industry in… I don’t know, a half century. I thought we might at least get a smaller pan America, I would’ve accepted that.
