He is definitely right about a lot of topics here, I FEEL THE SHIFT IN THE MARKET. Sam you should collaborate with other channels like Grant Cardone, Tai Lopez, Valuetainment.. Please I Want To See You More With Other Business People!
Awesome video Sam. A fellow kiwi - no hype and straight to the point. You're an inspiration to me. It's rare to find realness online today. You're one of these rarities. You reminded me of what the Science of Getting Rich says about adding value - it's timeless knowledge and screaming, "I told you so!" Awesome mate!

Alex Becker brought me here, and i've got to admit, he was right, your shit is really amazing! Thx! I've paused this video about 100 times in order to process what you have been saying, really powerful... This is not a video to watch, this is a video to study
Sam, I can't even begin to describe the gratitude I have for what you produce and teach! I've seen and learnt from so many "gurus" on business, yet yours cuts through all the rubbish and gets to the core! I'm listening intently and following suit, I'll see you at the top!!
Absolutely correct. After not making money for years with tons of marketing, I've found the only way to make money is with a strong product or service from the eyes of your target market.
“I’m not gonna try to get you to opt into a funnel or a webinar” FINALLY THANK YOU. Getting real tired of hour long webinars that don’t actually tell you anything and just try to get you to opt into their course or whatever bs they’re trying to sell. Thank you Sam for just putting out knowledge and helping others👍🏻
Thank you! Summary of what you need: 1. Great products and services 2. Differentiation 3. Scientific thinking 4. Incredible efficient and error free systems 5. Full-Stack Brain
Only at 15:00 but already learned more than in the 2 semesters of attending business school. An by the way, you’re really great and painting pictures with your words. Like „time is the grim reaper of the market“ - great! Do you read a lot? As I can tell you clearly read the blue ocean strategy :) I am working hard so that next year I will be able to attend one of your masterminds. All the best!
Ruthlessly honest as always. Your Uplevel course is beyond all expectations Sam. Best course I have ever done by a country mile.. You set the bar for excellence. Thanks
Hi Josue, I have a global coaching business helping struggling financial traders to make money. I've paid more money for other courses before but they don't come close to the value Sam gives. Hope that helps.
Hi everyone, Sam Ovens here and in today's video I'm not going to try and get you to opt into a funnel or a webinar or try to get you to give me your email address or anything like that. I'm just going to cut right to the chase. Nowhere did he say it's not a sales pitch. 😀
I've been apparently watching your students and their students who have been offering me the counterfeit, which I did not realize until one day your low key ad showed up in my Facebook feed. And after watching you, I realize you are the gold standard.
Many investors keep banging on about an imminent crash while watching opportunities slip oft. In my opiínion,it will be highly delusional to hold unto your money thinking there will be an apocalyptic market crash. My advice is,Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies.Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless. Dont give in to the bullshit of an imminent market crash since it's all bogus hype. The market will exist no matter what happens.
Really acknowledged your comment, My portfolio grew by 100% within 6 months.Couldn't have put it better myself. Last year a colleague introduced me to a financial consultant Sophie Arthur who has been helping me find investments that have significant growth potential. She invested my money in reputable companies which their stocks must always rise after any dip.
@@ameliaroy5245 How are you investing? I have around $145k, only index funds, half in s&p and half in vigax, l need something more aggressive to grow my portfolio, What do you think l should try?
@@zakharrusnak6856 I would advice you to reach out to her. This way you can get strategies designed to address your unique long-term goals and financial dreams. She's quite known all over the world, you can check her out online and subsequently contact her from there...
It's actually both about the product AND the marketing.. The marketing explains why your product is different/better.. The customer doesn't know anything about your product or if he/she wants to buy it until proper marketing establishes that in their mind FIRST. (I've seen an improved sales message/copy double sales) A bad marking message sells few products.. A good marketing message will sell a lot of mediocre products but you may get a lot of returns. Gotta have BOTH!
His point is that a lot (if not ALL) the marketers and Gurus out there pay more attention to the color of the buttons instead of building a product that's actually good! Even he spends a LOT of money on ADS, but do you have to do ALL OF THOSE things the gurus teach? No. A couple of good ads and that's enough
Point is if you have T=time, split it as follows: 80% Product and 20% Marketing. NOT vice versa. Good development of solution-based products always trumps spending the money you should have invested in product design on marketing. To an extent Marketing is dead money, (closing the door after the horse has bolted...driven by fear) whilst applied, focused R&D is an asset. This is always the scalable solution, not the $100 a day merry-go-rounds. Sure, understand the S&M game, but get ownership of Creative Processes, NOT fighting the sharks over the margin. Did Shakespeare sell tickets or write plays?
First time I think I hear the right words that other gurus don't tell you because they don't know what they do. Dan brings me here and he is right when he said that you are his right mentor. The longer I deal with it, I find that the one thing of Jay Papasan makes more and more sense. thank you for your honesty.
The focus on product is something I've been big on for the last 3 months, but have been way too delusional having it the other way around for too long before that - your points are just - right on the spot
I'm in the process of starting a business and your information is invaluable. Thanks for the free content, it's a great insight into the evolving online market.
Educational selling at it's best. I love the full-stack brain concept. I can honestly say I have not heard any other person who brings all this knowledge into one unified theory of starting and running a business. I would love to hear Sam & Tai discuss this topics. As much as I like Tai, I feel like he spends a lot of time on persuading lately. Thanks for the great content Sam. I am not ready for this yet because I am a novice. Currently committed to finishing Tai's SMMA course. I do believe the Consulting Accelerator will be my next purchase..
Tai's always been like that bro. Bitcoin comes up, and he wants to sell you a course. Bad Credit? He wants to sell you a course. ecommerce? He wants to sell you a course. Social media? He wants to sell you a course... NO ONE could be any good at that many stuff. He only talks about what's popular and famous... And sells you a course.
@@EntrepreneursonBikes - Yeah. What does that mean? Do you think he's complimenting Gary V? Don't think so. Sam meant, people who try to have social media accounts everywhere and think snapchat is the future of advertising.
I've been studying to get into Amazon FBA and eventually funneling that into a health and fitness training platform; as I've been studying I definitely got sucked into marketing hype. I thought it was more important than the product itself, which I think I knew already is delusional. I need to differentiate, improve, take feedback, and repeat. My products and services need to be world class and the marketing will become much easier. Thank you for this grounding wake up call Sam. I might just watch your youtube videos, but I resonate very deeply with becoming a 'full stacked man', and I consider you an amazing mentor. Hopefully some day we will be able to work together.
In a nutshell, if you don't have a niche which has "real" painful problems that need solving, and you don't have a product which actually "solves" the problem, then you will achieve nothing in the business world, it's that simple. Unless you're a scam artist, standing beside rented lambo's.
Thanks a lot Sam, you've articulated truth very well. After 17 years of freelancing (tech & development) on freelancer.com, when I gave attention to social media for myself (observation and experiments) then I wondered so much because I could clearly see cracks but I couldn't say it all confidently due to being an individual. Thanks for this video and validating that I was correct > marketers/gurus. We are like-minded and good to see that you understand value of a full-stack brain person. Most entrepreneurs and specialists just don't value it.
I'm not sure if I will ever buy your course, but I'm certain that I will watch most of your videos. We all know what we want and need to do. I'm all in on adding value, I was the promoter before and pulled back because the product wasn't awesome for the customer. I can close deals off of facebook ads, but a lot of contractors that I was dealing with at the time couldn't. It was sad to see them not make money from the leads I was sending them. Their follow up wasn't good, their pitch wasn't good, they were simply selling like their crew and experience was a commodity. I wasn't charging enough to be a consultant or a salesman. I was working with them because I knew that they were great tradesmen. The one's that could sell, loved us. The one's that couldn't didn't stay around long. I like your consulting angle. I got into this business to help business owners. I thought that I was a marketer, but realized that I like the consulting. Thats a good long term move you made there. I enjoy your content Sam!
This is encouraging since I have moved more and more towards focusing on product and service. Ultimately that's what I wanted to do anyway but doing so without any marketing knowledge also makes it like you're wearing blinders. So of course, the combo, as you do, is best.
Thank you SO much for this Mr. Ovens. I have traveled and worked around the world and made and lost much in business. This is solid and truthful advice. I can not wait to have the means to take your course.
Love #4... I admit I've probably at least subconsciously fallen for this to a degree, but at the same time have experienced phases between focusing on one for a while than the other... and focusing on value, though harder and less immediately gratifying it's always more meaningful and fruitful.
#5 was an issue for me for a very long time, but since recently learned more and more to focus, after reading The One Thing and realizing my management was way too complicated.
Amazing video! This popped up right before I was about to meditate and it solved the dilemma I have been facing this week. Focus>diversification confirmed my gut feeling. Thank you!
Thanks a lot Sam! Seriously, This is like the best marketing advice i have ever watched and im working as a young online marketing consultant. It gets things to the point that i actually had a glimpse about. For me the word marketing by itsself and what it is standing for is missleading - Often when i see job descriptions for (online) marketing in these days it seems like they are subconsciously searching for business devolopment or a sales guy. I hate the word marketing. Everything starts with an awesome product and then youll have to do the "packaging"/communication/support etc. right - this is also part of the product.
so much truth. you see a bunch of clowns selling bs courses but focus all their time on marketing. its like selling turds with fancy packaging has become the norm.
Incredible. This videos are so valuable I think we should pay for them. But, wow really you are such a practical, real business person. Wow. Will implement this, now.
Basically if I can summarize he is saying that the basic principles to business has not changed. It is just easy to complicate it with the advent of social media, but the thing is there is no other time then now, where running a successful business that provides real value is possible.
Hi Sam! Omg, I was just commenting about this very thing... shouting ,shouting and more shouting. #ItsANewDay... Thank you for sharing your insight and expertise!
30:25 "In order to scale, you need to machine the living hell out of that [one] funnel and you need to machine the living hell out of that [one] product. You need to make it exceptional. You need to make the funnel - you need to engineer it like a scientist."
Thank you. So good and true. Glad you are out there changing IM as the cowboys of a few yrs back have spoiled the internet for those who do want offer value and look after customers Great stuff signing up
For truths 1 & 2, it seems like products like Liquid Death (which is water) is made valuable by marketing. Is this an example of Marketing being very powerful. Or 2, is it actually product that they are leveraging ? (ex community, emotive experience of using the product)
Sorry for the late response but I feel like Liquid Death's product is the marketing. With the metal water cans etc. it's just built in a way that prompts people around you to ask a question about what you're drinking, which is marketing and product as one. It's a weird case though for sure.
Sam, thanks for the awesome content. One question, i guess, important for everybody. How can we be focused and have a full stack brain at the same time? Is it like getting the skills focused one by one? Thanks - great stuff you make!!!
