I picked up the Endorphin Pro v1 for 55 dollars. The price tag said $119 I thought that was a great deal and proceeded to the register. When he scaned them they were another 50 percent off. I returned to another Run On location the next day to buy a second pair. Best deal ever!

When was this? Looks like they have been taken over by Fleet Feet, and they charge higher prices and their customer service is not great. They also took over JackRabbit, which always had good deals and customer service. So sad to see them go.

I can remember the last time I spent over 100 dollars on a running shoe. I am a size 13 and I always go for the year old models so I can get some great prices. A quick list of shoes I have run in recently: New Balance More V1 and V2, New Balance Beacon v3, Asics Novabllast, Nike Pegasus. New Balance Prism, New Balance Vongo V4. I even purchased a pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro this past december for exactly $100. Shop the sales and old models! I am even at the point where now that I have bought last years model everytime for the past two years, it just feels like I am always getting the new model! I just pretend I am a year behind :)

QOD: I picked up the Boston 10 for $39 at the Dick's Sporting Goods Warehouse (wholesale store affiliated with the big chain). I couldn't believe they were so cheap. When I went to check out they rang up at $104 (still a great deal) so I told them I didn't want them. The manager came over and and said they had to honor the price as marked (score!) then got on the radio and and told the floor associates to remove the rest of the shoes from the shelves so they could mark them properly.

Reebok Floatride Energy series. Always caught myself picking them over my way more expensive shoes for daily training. And they can be purchased for 50-70 bucks all over the planet.

@@Reggy9 I'll have to see about that. I have about 100 miles on mine now. For me a durable shoe lasts at least 500 miles and preferably more so we'll see. I'm just enjoying the really comfortable midsole which is soft without losing ground feel.

QD: 4 pairs under $100 each for me in the last 8 months! Hoka Clifton 7, Hoka Rocket X and Asics Fuji Lite 2 in 2021. Hoka Rincon 3 in January 2022. Always keep an eye on what's on sale :)

Picked up the Pegasus 38 for $120CAD/$94USD last fall. Good deal and quite surprised with the performance of the shoe. First Nike shoe in a long time. A little firm but found coming to life at faster paces. Good tweener!!

QD: I actually ran in the same generic 40 euro outlet nikes for 6 years. I remember hating them when I first started out, but I was a teenager with no money to spend so I just went with it. As the shoes aged I started to like them more and more. I found out that the less bounce and support I had, the more I enjoyed them. So the shoes were like fine wine for me, getting better with age. But then last year, after running on just foam for about a year I thought 'Hey, I'm an adult now, with a job. I can treath myself better'. So I went to the store and tried some new shoes. I couldn't find anything that I liked. So after doing some research I found out that I might have been accidentally running on pretty minimilist shoes for a couple of years, because the shoes were so worn. So I bought a pair of barefoot shoes to confirm my hypothesis and have been a happy runner since, the exact lack of support and bounce that I like! And I don't know if it still counts, but they are Xero Prio's and were just under 100 euro, so that's a bit more. I'm not saying that everybody should completely neglect their gear and go barefoot, that would be very bad advice! But I am saying that if you like running, just run and do what makes you feel good!

QD: Picked up the NB Rebel V2 at Scheels before Christmas. We did not go there looking for shoes - we went there to just snoop as we hadn't been there before. The Rebel was on sale for $80. Had been curious to try it. We also like Scheels business philosophy and had intended to open one of their credit cards. Lo and behold - we received an $80 credit for opening the account but "had" to use the credit that night. Score! Got a new pair of Rebel V2s for zero dollars - it was destiny!😊 LOVE the Rebels, btw. Thanks for the wonderful content all the way around - we watch every night & have grown to love your beautiful family.😊

QD : I bought the OG Novablast for 74$ last December on Running Warehouse. Back in December Running Warehouse had most sizes for all clearance shoes. Love these vlogs where you share the more affordable options which are mostly a bang for a buck for most runners. Keep up the good work sir✌🏻.

Early January I was at JackRabbit Shoes on 34th St in NYC and I spotted a stack of Saucony Endorphin Speed 2’s. They were in a special NYC Marathon colorway (gorgeous white and black with multi-color laces) on sale for $85! Oh yeah, walked out with a box in my hands and a big smile on my face.

All of these including in the comments are sale prices, so I’d like to mention a very good shoe that even at full price is too often overlooked-even as a great “budget” shoe: the Brooks Revel (now on v.5 I believe). I thoroughly enjoyed v.4, which is versatile, (definitely a “tweener”), quite lightweight, 8 mm drop, very comfortable and actually quite nimble and fun to run in. It’s priced at $99.99 so basically $100. Reviews are scarce but consistently good for this series since v.4. It’s also a great shoe for travel because it’s attractive and can multitask well. Martha

2 under $100. I purchased the Novablast1 in December from R.W. and it is a very fun shoe to run in. Last week i picked up the Razor+ from a local running store ($75) and am really liking that lightweight hyperburst foam.

Asics Hyper Speed on running warehouse for $90! Absolutely amazing quality for the price. I think they could easily charge $20-30 more for it. I use it for everything from 200m track repeats to 5 mile threshold runs, and I'm certain it could go longer on someone else's feet. They have a nice rocker without being too pronounced, and it helps the shoe to feel responsive despite having no bells and whistles. And it's pretty darn light, and pretty durable. It's still available right now in three colors for $90, and that's at full price! I believe I saw it on sale once for $65 but I'm not sure.

@@SofaKingA Asics website has it at 30mm/25mm, it feels pretty average in terms of cushioning. Not something I'd take for a long run but I've run up to 7 miles in it and it felt fine

QOD: I bought a paid of Hoka Carbon X for $80 from REI I believe. I can't believe I was able to grab a carbon plated shoe for that price with the bonus placebo effect that I feel 20% faster. I always try to get my running gear on discount or with coupons.. they may not always have the color ways I would pick but that's not really the point for something you're going to renew every 4 to 6 months.

QD: Picked up the Endorphin Speed 2 (NYC-inspired colorway) for around $88 at a JackRabbit (now part of Fleet Feet) in New York City in December 2021. I believe they were clearing out their NYC Marathon inspired gear, and the deal was only available in-store only (i.e., couldn’t even see the deal online). I’ve now made a note to myself to check local shoe store sales after major races like the NYC Marathon are done.

The original Saucony Mad River was $90 when I got them, and man those were incredible value. I still have them around as generic outside shoes that I can get dirty, because even after being on my feet for probably 2000+ total miles, only the tread and inner heel are worn out.

QOD - I've never paid over $100 for a pair of running shoes. In the last six months, I got the Saucony Triumph 18 on sale for $74, the NB Rebel V2 on sale for $54, the Adidias Boston 10 on sale for $92, the Hoka Rincon 2 on sale for $83, and the Nike Pegasus 37 Shield on sale for $97.

Altra Rivera is generally affordable. And I often notice it on special. It's not a shoe for everyone. But, If you're looking to get into zero drop, or have tried altra before but found the toebox too wide, then rivera is a good intro/transition (more narrow than other altras, but still foot shaped toe box). Pros: Very light, medium stack height Cons: Lockdown requires fiddling and durability not as good as other altras. Neat daily trainer for any pace and up to around 21k distance.

QOD the last pair of running shoes I purchased for under $100 were the Altra Lone Peak 4 a couple years ago. “The Sneaker Store”, the local running store here in New Hartford NY, has big sales on their products throughout the year regularly.

For $85 brand new you can pick up the Atreyu Base Model V2. An excellent multi-purpose shoe. For $100 you can even get a pair of The Artist, their carbon race shoe. If they work for your foot/gait, it’s hard to beat that value.

Just love my peregrine 11, I use them to run my dogs in agility, very responsive shoe for quick rhythm changes and acceleration. A bit tiring for the legs when wearing them all day but perfect as a short runs shoe for a firm and aggressive ride

Saucony had a clearance sale this past winter. I got the saucony endorphin shifts for around $70 with a bonus code on top of the clearance price. It was about 50% off for a great pair of running shoes!!

I don’t know if anyone knows this, but I’ll throw it out there since it relates to the video! There’s an app called QuadPay (or Zip now) that lets you break up a purchase into 4 payments over 6 weeks! It’s works on most of the running shoe company websites and that’s how I buy all my shoes! It helps, especially when I need to get expensive racing shoes or something like that

Throughout past 6-8 months, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the following: Altra LP 5 and Saucony Peregrine 11 for around 90$ and Saucony Kinvara 12 and Mizuno Wave Rider 23 for around 80$, New Balance More v3 around 95$ , New Balance 1080 v10 for around 75$ and Hoka Clifton 8 right around the 100$ mark. Sales sections and older models are the winning combination.

It’s hard to find shoes under $100 in Canada, but I picked up the Puma Liberate Nitro for $69 at Sport Chek, and Adidas SL20 from Amazon for only $82. Both on sale. Hoka are typically the most affordable at full price here, and they start around $140.

Off topic, but the update from the Altra Paradigm 5 to the 6 is really quite immense. Better midsole compound, lighter, and a more breathable upper. Amazing for recovery days and even as a daily trainer for us bigger runners. QD: Picked up a second hand pair of Novablast 2’s for £60 from eBay with less that 20 miles run in them. Look and feel brand new. Bargain!

On my 5th pair of novablasts. Would buy more but hard to find in my size. Have been getting 400-500 miles before I notice less bounce and niggles in my knees and feet.. can’t wait for the novablast2 to be reduced so I can stock up.

Adidas adios 6, full price it’s £110 but more often than not some colourway are on sale. Great short interval training shoe. So poppy, and more stable than the saucony speed if you slightly pronate. Only downside is you will struggle going long as it’s a bit firm.

All of my recent shoe purchases have been under or around $50. Peg 35 for $40 on Mercari, Reebok Floatride Energy 2 for $50 at Ross, Reebok Run Fast 2.0 for $40 on Mercari, Zoom Fly SP for around $50 on Poshmark, Saucony Endorphin Shift for $40 on Mercari (used once), and NB Prism for $40 on Mercari.

QD: I picked up some Nike Downshifter 11s at Dick’s Sporting Goods for like $50. I wore them on a trip to Guatemala and I have to say, they were great even for running on sketchy surfaces like their cool cobblestone streets. They’re light too so I’ll use them for like 5K races and speed workouts. My other shoes are heavier for long runs and trail runs.

Recently got the Noosa Tri 13 for £72 and Rincon 2 for £66. Some good deals out there for sure! I’m tempted for a pair of Fujilite 2 for £80 but still have lots of life left in my speedgoats and ultraglide! And it’s not a bargain if prematurely retiring other shoes.

QD: on boxing day I bought a Cumulus 23 and an Evoride 2 for $48 each. Before black friday I bought a Novablast 2 for $98. In summer I bought my Velocity Nitro for $78. I rarely buy shoes over $100. :)

Have bought about 20 pair of running shoes since I started in July and have paid under $100 for all but my Vaporfly and Adios Pro2. Most are previous year models but I bought a pair of the NB Rebel V2 recently for $73 at a local Hibbett Sports.

QD : Pegasus 36 for around $50, just last month. Local online shop had a clearance sale. I needed a quick replacement for my Beacon V3 that had bottomed out, but there weren't any in my size.

I always buy shoes from outlets (maybe 70% of them)and very rarely from regular shops and even then I choose the discounted ones. Last year I bought one pair of Nike free rn, Nike Terra kiger 6 and New Balance fuelcell rebel for under 100€.

Picked up the Novablast for $75 last month and they are now in my rotation. The bounce is a bit much but they are a great alternative to my other shoes. Thought I was on a roll and bought the Magic Speed on sale but was thoroughly disappointed. Not a terrible shoe but no energy return whatsoever. Felt very Hoka-ish
