I wonder if it's just cigarette smoke, or if combustion from anything else could cause atrophy. What about smoke from wood or even marijuana? They didn't identify nicotine as the cause. Would a nicotine patch cause atrophy? That's a pretty crummy study.

Getting rid of ultra processed foods takes out 7/9 of the issues. I don't have a dishwasher and generally don't eat out often so that's another elimination and all I have to worry about is BPA in which I rarely use plastic bottles so I'm really happy my diet is currently highly reducing or has eliminated the 9 items.

What most people don't know: The main source of BPA in food is not plastics but coatings of metal containers (cans, etc.), where BPA is very often used in the resin to create the coating. Concerning plastics BPA is only contained in one type of them, polycarbonate (PC), which is (at least here in Europe) not really used for food contact at all. The usual food contact plastics (PE, PP, PET) do not contain BPA, because they are simply not made of BPA. And no, it is not added because it would serve absolutely no purpose in these three plastics. So just look at the name of the material. So if you want to avoid BPA: Don't be afraid of PET bottles, avoid coated metal containers and PC.

🌱 Gut health is more than just the microbiome - the actual gut itself is important too. 🍽 Certain foods can harm the proteins in our gut, leading to gut damage. 🍮 Polysorbate 80 in pudding cups disrupts gut proteins, allowing allergens to pass through. 🍰 Polysorbate 20 in cakes can cause intestinal cells to burst due to an inflammatory response. 🧼 Dishwasher detergents and rinse aids, even in small amounts, can damage gut cells. 🥤 Diet sodas, in reasonable amounts, may affect gut proteins and mucus secretion. 🚬 Cigarette smoke, MSG, and BPA can also harm gut proteins and cells. Well, as always I have to say it, Thanks to Intermittent fasting, my constipation, gut and related stuff was fixed, your body really needs some time to cure itself by not eating anything. Another things that destroy your gut is alcohol and calorie free alcohol sweeteners, regarding on how to reduce BPA from our bodies, some studies have shown that antioxidants, especially folate and Q10 helps to detox the body from BPA, also sweat a lot, (Sauna anyone?) helps the body to detox BPA, and lastly green tea and chlorella too helps to reduce BPA,. When your gut lining goes, it takes a while to regenerate. While your gut is damaged, small pieces of animal protein can slip into the blood stream and cause serious damage. Your immune system will see these animal protein fragments as foreign bodies and attack them by creating antibodies for them. While this is going on, your systemic inflammation will be extremely active. The danger is that your immune system will be unable to do its job when it is expending its resources chasing false alarms. You could develop an immune reaction to some animal protein fragments if they are similar to your own cell's markers. This is how you develop an autoimmune disorder. Your body won't know what to prioritize and things like precancerous cells will get missed and develop beyond your ability to stop them. The cancer will grow and spread while your body attacks itself. Don't touch any of these things ever again. If your gut is in trouble, go vegan for a few months. None of the protein fragments from a vegan diet are similar to your own cells and your gut lining and immune system will recover. If the vegetable protein segments get through the lining, your immune system won't mistake them for your own cells. It is unclear if GMO plants that contain animal proteins are safe to eat. They could get through a leaky gut and trigger an immune response, just like meat does. We really need to fix our food supply. Natural, healthy food is what we need. If that's not profitable... too bad.

sucralose is crap. Aspartame on the other hand is nothing, but 2 amino acids linked together. One of them non-essential (meaning our body will produce it if lacking), the other one is essential (meaning that we need it and it will have come come from outside). These amino acids are even more abundant in meat, fish, eggs, etc. These studies he mentioned are saying that gut lining is damaged by consuming amino acids. Stop and think about it for a second. It makes ZERO sense.

I asked the clinic for a way to help me but the antibiotics only made my sickness worse while fasting for more than 18+ hours reduced it significantly. Going on a 3-4 day water fast soon when December hits.

@@jameswellman975plus all the sulfites in wine are not heart healthy (even though ppl love to hear that resveratrol in red grapes is heart healthy, we're just undoing it by drinking sulfites). Having said that, white wines have much higher amounts of sulfites to compensate for the lack of natural antioxidants that are present in red grape skin. I personally think that all wine is vile (although I crave a good Pinot when having beef stew) except for the low alcohol white wine from Portugal, called Vinho Verde... That is heavenly with seafood, especially scallops.

I just assumed it was a single ingredient product, but nope. That's a big problem for us keto people. I've been seeing a lot of clothing made from recycled bottles, lately, especially from countries that are trying harder than the US to reduce and reuse what's already in the system. But I can't help wondering whether BPA is harmful on contact, the same way some paper additives like BHA and BHT are. I really like the idea of reusing what exists as much as possible, and possibly creating a market for the materials harvested from dumps and the great garbage patches, though I certainly do not want to consume more chemicals or justify more fossil fuel fractioning just to have plastics when safer alternatives can be had. By chance have you looked into recycled plastic fabrics studies, yet, if there are any?

It's almost all about genetics. Also, having good family and friends and being easy going help tremendously in mental and physical health. If you have bad genetics or genetic issues, doesn't matter what you do. Some people smoke and drink and eat horribly and live to 100, some are health nuts and die young. Stay fit and don't be overweight and have a positive outlook on life. You can eat junk, but just in moderation. Videos like this are interesting, but I think they start to make people paranoid and that cause more problems than the food.

I went through crazy microbiome and gut lining issues it has literally taken me 4-5 years to get back to normal. Lessons I learned 1 glutamine make it your friend don’t over do it and buy the highest quality stuff 9.5/10 2 collagen protein, soft tissue regeneration 9.5/10 3. prebiotics > probiotics, I banged my head against the wall with pain inflammation, irritability to the max turns out it was the probiotic all along 9/10 4. Fodmap dieting but never skipping the reintroduction phase. I went years doing fodmap but never reintroduced foods seems to be a common thing in the interest of reducing inflammation but when I reintroduced foods I became normal again. 5. Going against the grain! The gut is such a complex place you need to trial and error a lot. Some studies might show something that’s 90% effective then you take that same product and you explode. People told it was ok to smoke marijuana etc but that made my situation worse with mmc disregulation (the contraction of your intestines). The things I’ve listed above seem to work for 99% of people provided they don’t over do it!

Polysorbate 80 is in vaccines to act as a dispersant. It also causes the tight junctions to the crucially important blood brain barrier to open up. In the case of the recent inoculations that includes E. coli endotoxins, a by-product of the scaling up demands of billions of doses. It also permitted the spike protein mRNA and the unaccounted for 45% of unknown sequences together with numerous adjuvants to pass directly into the brain.

It's amazing how many microbiologist who work with vaccines say that they're tainted with many viruses and pathogenic bacteria. Not all viruses are bad or cause disease, but what does that say about quality control in so called 'safe' vaccines? And it varies by batches too, so the clinical trials won't have detected issues with all possible batches of mass produced vaccines. I don't understand how people can have such blind faith in pharmaceuticals.

I've aaalways wondered about the chemicals left over on dishes after washing. But there's basically nothing to find about it and if you know how things work on a small scale then there's always going to be some leftover chemical traces. And I just couldn't imagine this was healthy and we're getting exposed to it constantly. I've actually already been rinsing everything from the dishwasher before usage just to be safe because I was pretty convinced that there could be trace amounts of leftover stuff. Glad you actually mentioned it because literally nobody even stops to consider this.

I have been for decades now "OCD" when it comes to rinsing dish and glassware. I don't use the dishwasher but prefer to wash by hand. It's actually hard to get that soap residue off. The soaps are super concentrated. A lot of people just rinse quickly till they don't see a bunch of bubbles. If I lived in an area with water scarcity, I would opt to not use soap at all rather than leave invisible residue. I realize this gentleman is referring to the rinse agents, but I believe it applies to any type of dish detergent--even the "free and clear." I'm happy to now see others starting to acknowledge this issue. No, I'm not crazy this is real!!! That said I have done a lot of other things to damage my gut and now paying a price with autoimmune issues.

I find it unlikely that of some of these items present threats under real world conditions. The sorbitan esters (polysorbate 20 or 80, which are very similar) might, although the WHO suggests you can have quite a lot and be safe. If the harm they do is because of their emulsification power (which is why they exist) then diluting them down with other food or drink will quickly reduce their emulsifying ability, as they are always used in the lowest effective amount (due to cost and other reasons) On the other hand, rinse aids in dishwashing compounds are very effective surface tension reducers, so there will be very little of them left on your dishes by design. They are unlikely to cause a problem. I am also skeptical that many people would get 10 grams of MSG in their diet. Glutamic acid (the basis of MSG) is an amino acid naturally in foods, common enough that the FDA guesses (so I've read) that you probably get about 13 grams of it a day in a normal diet. But, MSG is only needed (if at all) in dishes at a very low level to have its effect. A dash (maybe 0.05gram) is all you would normallly add to a dish when cooking. Much more and it messes up otherwise good flavors. So, if you already get several grams from your diet, what difference does the occasional 0.05g extra make? I am, among many other things, an old chemist. So, I know there that there are plenty of things that can be hazardous. But, not everything presents a mortal threat. It's good to know when to worry and when to relax.

This is great but be a ware that those studies do not represent reality. It can in reality actually be worse. Most studies are single-substance studies. For example, pesticides are tested at supra-physiological levels and indeed are considered safe. But on the farm, no one uses only an insecticide. They combine at least an insecticide with a fungicide and a herbicide. I studied these interactions during my study back in 2015 and there is lots of evidence showing the synergistic effects of toxic agents. Superadditive effects are not the norm, but they exist. This is why all the "safe" pesticides still cause the biodiversity decrease that we observe today. And when it kills microorganisms far away from the corn fields, you can be sure that it kills some of your cells too.

Pudding is one of my favorite things, but I haven’t had any in years, unless you count creme brulee with the sugar crust removed. All I’m really looking for is plain vanilla egg-and-milk custard. In college, SAGA Food Service used to make ENORMOUS pans of egg custard from scratch every week. Pudding cups have never been a temptation because they had long lists of cheap proteins. It was easier to give up commercial coffee cake because it wasn’t the equal of home-made. Just having high standards kept me from the kind of indulgence that might have taken me up to 200 and beyond. I learned to stop and lower the bar to a short list of products that were high quality. But even though my weight did not pass 175, it was still too much, which I discovered through my last blood panel results a couple of months ago: prediabetic and (for the first time) fatty liver. I couldn’t eat “fewer” of my favorite muffins, banana bread, and even slices of toast with butter and honey. It had to stop. So I started a modified carnivore diet, but not giving up my beloved raw milk and kefir, and allowing some fruit because carnivore gives me severe constipation, and I don’t mean infrequent stools, I mean painful hard stools that hurt like hell to pass. 5 prunes per day is the bare minimum of fruit. Maybe 2 bananas/wk, a 1/2 bosc pear every so often. If I’ve had enough BBBE, I have no room for sweets, and no desire for them.

To get an idea what % of certain fats should be in the diet, look at natural foods. High %: saturated fat & monounsaturated fat (in summer and warm weather, you have more calories and a higher proportion of monounsaturated fat. In winter and cold weather, you have fewer calories and a higher proportion of saturated fat) Low %: polyunsaturated fat (eating seeds, it would have been challenging to get a lot of polyunsaturated fat; we only get so much today due to heavy processing) Very low %: trans fats (yes, they are also found in nature in animal products and seem to be harmless in this case, but the ones we commonly come across are chemically changed polyunsaturated fats)

I'm cautious of Erythritol too because it's a derivative of corn (i.e. a GMO), but for now, I'm just looking at the lesser of two evils. Your statements about plastic bottles are wrong (and not wrong at the same time). There are virtually no plastic bottles of mineral water or soft drinks on the market that are not BPA-free! It's not the BPA is the problem with the plastic bottles typically marked with the number 1 in a small triangle. These products are made from polyethylene terephthalate (aka PET), which does not use Bisphenol A in its manufacture! Ethylene glycol is one of the proven solubles used in the production of PET bottles. Under sub-optimal conditions (heat, sunlight, acidic substances such as fruit juice with higher acidity), acetaldehyde, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and antimony may leach from the bottle material. I hate dishwasher tablets but I am still using them.... I used to buy eco-friendly ones.. in the UK people never rinse dishes after washing them.

What do you think of coffee? I’ve only just started watching the video. I have psoriasis and have been told to drop black tea and coffee. I can’t do green tea- it makes me nauseous. Btw, I tend to eat everything homemade.

I suffered with psoriasis the last 10 years until this year. I dramatically increased my vit d intake and have had little to no outbreaks. Only time I start to get psoriasis again is when I slack on the vit d consumption! I take the gel capsules. I started with taking 7000 IU in am and 7000 IU in pm. Did that for a couple months. Now I take around 5000 IU every couple days or so. Take with vit K2 for better absorption

Caffeine has been shown to cause frequent contractions in the digestive tract. It can also increase stomach acidity by triggering the production of more gastric acid. Try drinking coffee with food.

When I get home to the US, I drink more iced tea. I am from the PNW, so we do not add sugar to iced tea. I will take a lemonade, and add about 2 to 4 cL. A shot glass. I can add lemon slices instead, if I think I am getting too much sugar from the lemonade. I have ADHD/ASD/OCD, I cannot stand to go into our kitchen, since it is pretty damn awful and narrow galley type kitchen. Ice has chalk in it from the island I live on has a lot of it. So taste is a turn off. So, to get ice tea takes a lot of overwhelm to get over to make the tea. Boil the filtered water, let it cool, put it in the fridge, make some filtered ice. So about 4 hours later at the earliest I can get non-iced tea. Or wait many hours to get the ice. ADHD me is already bored with it.

It's crazy to see this list. My family has been consuming 8 of the 9 since I was a kid 40 years ago. We do avoid trans fats. All my relatives that have passed were in their 80s and from old age. No serious health issues. Most of us have quit smoking at this point but it's pretty wack to hear the health risks. They should do a study on genetics and see if yields the same results.

Your family proves why RU-vidrs like this are partly full of BS, pardon the pun. What he’s talking about of course there is some slivers of evidence but he’s doing this mostly for the clicks, views, and his greed. He’s using a bit of junk science and then all these commenters nod because they’re into buying into these talking head vidiots charlatans. The reality remains, everything in moderation, including moderation, except these RU-vid health gurus, you can skip them entirely.

I think our food has a lot more shit added to them than they did 40-60 years ago, which could be a possible factor.

@@colin-nekritz That’s quite a bit ridiculous. Is he saying some of this stuff in a manner that’s too fearmongery? Yes. Is what he’s saying incorrect? No, not at all. It does come down to moderation, but it doesn’t mean that the stuff is just inaccurate. If you don’t treat YT’ers like gods, and you do your own research and don’t just believe or ignore anything they say, then you’re completely fine

9:51 Tween (Tween-20 or Tween-80) is another name for polysorbate 20 or 80, respectively. They are very commonly used in different laboratory applications, either as non-ionic surfactants, or for cell lysis (more appropriate for the subject here) amongst other things. Just leving this information here for comparison between sugar (point 6) and pudding cups/cakes (points 1 and 2)
