as someone who is learning to tune just by doing it and learning as i go, the ignition timing has been the most confusing so far. thanks for kinda breaking it down, i always like how you explain why you do the thing you do when tuning, its a huge help. thanks for your vids man and keep up the great work. P.S. i would love to see just how much power you could get out of that little d15, everyone makes power on b series but you never see the d15s being built, would be fun to watch :P
Very interesting this was, ECO MPG boosting. This car is a great Daily Driver for anyone who just wants to here a little wooosshh driving to work without a huge fuel bill. I would even do a comparison with 87octane just to see the bhp and what MPG can be achieved.
I'm taking notes on the ignition timing and love the SOHC content! Thanks for another great video Hunter! Just finishing my charge pipes then I'll be ready for the first startup of my 1990 JDM Accord (CB6) 2.0si Exclusive Coupe! Stock bottom end for this summer so I'll only be on 7psi spring pressure for starters. F20A DOHC block/F22A SOHC head ported and 272cam, wally450, FIC850cc, 12cm (82ar) Holset HE351, Ostrich 2.0 on HTS.
Shit, let me know how you make out. I am running a stock block JDM F22B SOHC NonV in my EK. About 8lbs 255Walboro 750 RCs. Pulls pretty nice, blows off the tires in second
Traction is going to be an issue even with the innovative traction bar because when I did the AT to MT conversion I used an open diff M2Y4 from a base prelude I had so I'll have to look into an aftermarket LSD or just get an H trans with a factory LSD.
@@HunterTuned thank for replying I'm learning how to tune the fuel and all that with HTS stock b20z block n b16 head I start with b16 base map and I'm wondering what should I do to timing map any input appreciate? Ty
Something I tell people all the time. Your 2d map usually represents your torque curve. You can see your peaks and valleys and try and smooth power so it's not falling and returning and then falling again. My butt Dyno feels that drop off lmao
Wouldn’t you require the AFR after e85 to be richer since e85 has a different stoichiometric ratio. So instead of targeting the same afr as the gasoline tune, don’t you want to run like 10.5 afr
Now go from pump e85 to c85…. I tuned a hatch a couple weeks ago and did a similar scenario as you and it picked up 50hp across the board switching from e85 to c85 😳 pretty crazy what fuel can do.
Do you test and socket for ecus cobra rtp? Gonna run hts this summer when I boost my y7. And as far as single content I'd love to see someone do a hot air turbocharged hypermiler project just to see what kinda mpg it would have?!?! Considering the state of fuel prices 😭
I have a very similar setup with a y7 and would like to see some more hyper mileage on e85 and see what you get. I'm on very conservative timing everywhere and pull down about 24mpg on e85.
Good afternoon hunter im a subscriber I need help with Honda crv b20 turbo I Ned to install a relay in my fuel pump 450 I no find video of some one doit to a crv just civic and integra and I see you have a crv turbo tanks for all you video and kip doin a great job god bless
Hey love the videos but was wondering im doing a 2001 honda d17 stock bottom end doing a cheap ebay turbo kit on it can u recommend what injectors i should run in it i eould like to get them from u and im looking for a hondata sho uld i just send my out and can you recommend any good places to do that thanks ive teied to email you before thanks in advance for any possible help you could help me with
I really don’t know much about the d17 unfortunately the 2001-2003 or so years are tricky to find tuning for. I’ve never messed with any of them maybe call Hondata and see if they can help or jason waters tuning.
I would love to go e85 but it just isn't easily available where I live. In your opinion what would u consider safe hp for 93 Oct on a b16 stock sleeve piston rod set up
400 whp easily on a piston rod b16 if it’s a good flowing turbo and tubular manifold I see around 300 whp on a piston rod d16 around here my car made 495 in my sleeved forged h22 on straight pump gas I’m from Canada so we don’t have e85 at the pump
With the current trend in gas prices I’d be happily driving that civic with E85,ftw! Premium is approaching $5/gallon and it sucks!! Thanks sleepy Joe 😡😤😩
Here's my view on fuel companies adding 10% ethanol. They make shit gas, let's say 86 octane. Now they add that 10% of ethanol making it 93 octane. That's like a drug dealer getting his stash of coke and cutting it w/ 10% baking powder. 10 gallons of pure gasoline will take you say 250 miles. 10 gallons of ethanol will only take you 200 miles. This is how they rip us off no matter how much gasoline costs. They don't keep ethanol around for turbo Honda guys (lol)- they keep it to make more $$$ for themselvs. Having E85 randomly available at the gas station is a side effect which is also why it's only in 20% of all of the USA. I plan on achieving higher octane under boost using water / methanol injection because the closest E85 station is 1.5 hours away at highway speed. Would be cool if you did a video on water / methanol injection but I know I know, you have E85 everywhere there in Wisconsin. Lucky aint the word.... Also while all the gas prices have gone up, costs to operate wind turbines went up zero dollars. So there's that too.
How can you say that’s super clean when it’s got different color fenders and hood? That’s not considered clean to anybody I know, lol I enjoy your videos but come on. Tighten up
