@@edlvsgng Switching to a powermaster starter, or a high rpm starter might help you out dude! I run one on my 94 ford IDI, and she fires up FAST. new glowies might help as well.
it sounds like my 89 year old grandma trying to breath after smoking a pack a day her whole life, love this engine still even if it gives problems in the winter lol
Its either air in the fuel lines from a leak or a bad electric fuel pump or you need a set of glow plugs or your cold advance isn't working or you have to much advance. Take the time to track the problem and fix it before you do damage to the flexplate, starter, engine ect.
Good advice; wish I had thought of all this before I kept cranking it and caused the starter bolts to shear off 🤦♂️🤷♂️ live and learn I guess.... Thank you for the good advice
Damn bud sound like my truck lol, u know I just unplug the coolant temp sensor and start it. Starts way faster but have to wait for a sec then plug it back in after its running good. Doing this till I have time to put my new glow plugs in
@@tannerdamico9895 i have the replacement starter, but the challenge is drilling out the broken starter bolts. Im reverse drilled out 1 of them but the 2nd one is proving difficult. waiting for it to warm up to keep messing with it
My ‘94 Silverado is pre-KOEO lift pump prime relay, and it still starts with less than five seconds of cranking, regardless of weather. Definitely NOT right. New IP/injectors and tank lift pump AT A MINIMUM! God that starter and those batteries took some abuse!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣
Thats not the problem. That is only used and done on carbureted engines not fuel injected engines. I think this guy is either having glow plug issues, injector issues or the fuel is starting to jell up do to the cold, diesel fuel jells up in cold weather if you don't add a anti-jelling agent to the fuel when you put it in your fuel tank.
Lol what?? Boy that was hard to watch i have a 93 Silverado 6.5 turbo diesel 5-speed manual and i cant turn the key all the way before she's running maybe injection pump?
@@edlvsgng I like to have a variety of American vehicles cold starts on my channel from all eras of time. I would just be like a repost of this video on my channel and have you credited for it. That ok with you?
Yikes!!! Please stop doing that to that nice truck… when you break the starter bolts and crack the block she’s done for. Keep her plugged in when cold, new plugs she should start pretty much instantly.
