Method 3 worked perfect for me! And just in time its snowing here in Arlington oregon. Thank you so much this video was just what I needed to fix my 1997 subaru legacy sedan
I have the same problem. I have a 1999 legacy outback. My heater works but no defrost and doesn’t change vents. Thanks for the video. I’ll check to see if this is the same case for me. I’ll inform ya later.
For anyone looking this up, if the lights don't work on the buttons it is possible soldering the rear buttons at the connectors (so remove climate controls and solder at rear buttons) could be a fix. Edited: I appreciated the video but audio wasn't great.
Ted I am having a hard time getting the arms to stay on the back of the defrost actuator. Is there a secret to getting them in place to the large plate on the back of the actuator. Do to have to remove the radio to get to this, or have the plate is a certain position. Wayne Bussell
Do you know what is the part number of that actuator? I just bought an outback that is missing that actuator for some reason and I will need to buy a new one
