What is a child’s real purpose? What are children really teaching parents and adults during the process of parenting? When it comes to parenting, a child's purpose is to teach Parents and Adults what Parents and adults have disowned within themselves. Parents suppress their inner children, and when they have kids, their children reflect what their inner children are trying to tell them. In this episode, Teal Swan tells the truth about parenting.

I've been struggling with my now 9 year old recently. I was crying in the shower last night after a horrible bedtime with him where he was very very rude and it got out of hand and a lot of yelling took place. I asked over and over again 'pleasw help me' to the universe, and today I stumbled across this video and I feel like I was meant to watch this. Thank you

We should learn this school. My daughter is exactly everything I wanted to be she can say no and she wants my full presence. I had forgotten those are things i yearned for in my childhood. I am so grateful I have realized this and I hope many more do. I am starting my own business waking up at 3 am so I am fully present for her during the day

Smart! Please do not reproduce until you fix yourselves. I wish everyone had that mindset. To really drill it in, I'm a *very* angry, bitter, damaged human all because of one terrible disgusting human who birthed me. If you don't heal yourself and create a new life, that child will hate you in adulthood. As for me, I 100% hate the woman who birthed me and I have no qualms reminding her of that every time I see her. Hope that helps you realize your decision is very wise.

I am considering having a child for a long time now and I feel I haven't healed enough to bring a new life into this world. In the same time being a perfectionist = "not good enough" I realize I will never consider myself ready. My point is not be so hard on yourselves. If you are concerned about what you will teach your child then you are more than capable of being a parent. We are never as ready/good enough as we think we should be. I think this is what is great about parenting. You grow along with your child!
@hannawaegner3362
@hannawaegner3362 Год назад
While i believe this a very sincere, genuine, and appropriate concept, there is only so much you can heal with eath other or on your own first. It is the presence of your child that will bring forth most of the lessons. So don't expect yourself to be perfect before welcoming a child. The work just begins there. And that child will have chosen its parents for the specific experience in this lifetime. However it is valid and true, that for some people they will choose NOT to have children at all, and that is also a choice that may be best and right for them. We have free will, we have the ability to make choices, and there are many paths to walk on. Its all about consciousness and the journey. All the best to you.

I was terrified to have a child because my sister was murdered and I know first hand what it's like to not only losing a sibling but, seeing my parents devastation of outlining their child. When I did give birth to my son, I was simply in awe of the love and bond that came with it. We aren't the hovering helicopter parents and we allow our son to lead us to his own awakening and enlightenment. It takes a lot for me not to worry, feel fear or have negative thoughts in regards to my son. I have to work on myself continually to not let what has happened to me affect my son.

So true. When I gave birth to my first son, he looked me directly in the eyes and I felt strongly, that he was here to teach me something, not the other way around. Felt so confusing at that time, but at the same time so incredible true. Like a fact I could not refuse. So thank you for confirming that feeling, Teal.

This is literally my whole life story summarised into a spiritual narrative by Teal Swan. I believe some parents aren't ready for the presence of their own self-aware child, due to their lack of open consciousness and wounds created by the parent's parents, which the parent unconsciously decides to reinflict on their child.

This sounds weird at first but I think I get it now, like how can a child be born specifically because of the parents needs, what about the child? doesn't the child want his/her own life and have wants and needs? Then it dawned on me that the child wants the same thing as the mother, and so does the whole soul family for each other, thus helping each other out, always

i’ve been feeling really guilty lately because of the fact that my mom has never been able to relate to me, and i feel like i wasn’t the child she wanted or envisioned. this made me realize that maybe i was the child she needed, she just wasn’t conscious enough to see it. i’m about to turn 21 now and i still feel this great divide between us where she feels like she knows best and wants me to join her reality and i feel bad because i refuse to, knowing that her reality is not my reality and it’s not going to serve me. i wish i could bring her out of her place and make her conscious but i guess that’s something i can only do by example and not by force. i feel like i’m parenting my own parents, but i guess we all do in some way.

Sociopaths narcissists are unable to heal. I'm not sure why but as far as I know they are permanently broken. Its pathological in their brain. A physical defect that can't be fixed. My mom needs to tell you something. I was shaking before her, she got so much strenght, but I didn't before others. We need to stop to lose so much time on mistakes of our parents and begin to make our own mistakes. We will see trough them. We choose our ways alone. If we cut cords, they need time to heal, so we have to clean them. We have to begin to think with our own head. In my life it is always place for one dear person. I am so sorry you have to go trough this but I don't have to. And you don't have to because she already did. Thank you.

Setting boundaries is good and it’s also ok to take some time for yourself to heal. But cutting off your parents is failing your mission why you came to earth and chose them. You’re the special agent to help them 😉 I also thought at some point to cut ties with my father, but now I’m so strong, that I can actually help and guide him, even though is difficult. He needs me. I obligated myself to help his expansion. Keep that in mind why you’re here on earth 😉 You have the strength for this task, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. All the best and much love 🙏❤️🌈

THIS IS EXACTLY what I have been seeing, writing, AND telling my family. At this moment I am the embodiement of my mom who DID NOT GIVE UP on her goals. WIlling to take risks, AND I look like the person whom she rejects the most: my father. (I am, of course, a more attractive, youthful, feminine version :P lol) She has crushed herself, given up on all things, dead weight unless something bigger than her forces her to move. Something extreme. I am moving forward without that need, to a lesser degree, and she is pushing back. Our relationship has not been good. I feel guilt but I will not give up since I KNOW what is going on at a deeper level

Ashton Hanson Some parents can’t be helped. I have that type of parents. I tried, but my parents are just as described above and by trying to help them things seem to get worse. Being close to my parents kills me (parents made fun of me cutting myself and told me “to cut right next time). Not all parents wants what is best for their child, some parents smile after punishing their child. If all parents loved their child that much barely anyone would be in the foster care system.

I made a huge mistake the other day that has made me slam the breaks on my parenting and reevaluate myself. I feel so guilty and would like to confess: I had purchased 6 large die cut stickers that are intended as bumper stickers or whatever. Strong adhesive and expensive as far as stickers go. I left them on the counter. The next morning, my 4 year old woke me up all excited and jumping all over me (and because I don't sleep well at night, I really struggle with my mood in the morning 😔). So I was angry and rude to him for waking me up. When I finally dragged myself out of bed, he brought me into the kitchen and very proudly showed me how he had taken the six stickers and stuck them on the glass backdoor. I freaked out - I screamed and berated him for taking what didn't belong to him and destroying the stickers and the door. And as I screaming at my baby, I had an out of body experience where I saw myself from a distance. It's not the first time I've felt disassociation - where my own experience and behavior feels like it's someone else. I have PTSD because of the near death of this sweet little boy, and the hyperarousal that I suffer, is also suffered by my poor family. I feel so ashamed by my behavior. I apologized to him and asked for his forgiveness. Hugged him close, held him. I told him that it was my fault that I behaved that way, that the stickers and the window were not important and I never should have treated him that way. I told him that he was more important than stickers or windows or anything else in the entire world. He hugged me back, let me hold him, and forgave me. He told me that it was actually my fault for leaving the stickers where he could get them (😅) and moved on with his day. I have kept the stickers on the door as a reminder of what is actually important to me, which is my child and his spirit. I feel terrible, but at the very least, the experience has pushed me to address all the aspects of my trauma and PTSD that is unresolved.

I don't have my own kids, but I enjoy teaching Taekwondo to other people's kids. They don't leave their problems at home like adults are told to do, and I love that. I hope I can help them grow into the best version of themselves, but I am terrified of hurting them like my parents hurt me. Also, there is only so much I can do. If I try to do too much, the parents could get mad at me and I'll never see that kid again. I hope I can figure out something, and I'll pray about it. Anything done in love is better than doing something without love, at least. I do love them a lot.

Thank you for this.. so many levels and layers from which to interpret. I always appreciate your perspectives, Teal. I have grown and learned so much since meeting you online. Not always easy or comfortable information, especially when integrating myriad data streams in this highly active time on the planet!, but the essence of love, integrity, honesty, authenticity shine through every time. Much love always! ( personal story bit: I grew up side by side with my children. It was clearly an opportunity, yet I still struggled with 100% presence with them as I was trying to grow a creative career ... always the little tugging. We remain close, intimate, friends ... best friends in many cases. I now see that I have become a young child (energetically) yet again as I watch them grow into adulthood, ... watching ideas of choice from a new perspective as I honor their interpretations of choice from their own hearts. It's been a super fun dance, ... the best in this incarnation!)

Will you please create a video for the children? The star seeds and indigo children? The children that are meant to help parents realize the most actual used versions of themselves - do you have information you could create a video on to help instruct those children on how to cope with and also help their parents while working toward their own self realization and protecting the child’s own energy, health, and boundaries? (When I say child, I mean adult children of these unrealized parents, especially as these parents become elderly and need and are now more open to the child’s assistance) This work is very energetically demanding and tips around working with energy and around not getting so depleted yourself is helpful. Thank you.

I think pretty much all of us had some form or version of the "crush and diminish" childhood. I know I did. Teal is presenting a SERIOUS revolution in parenting and child raising. I know this topic could go much, much deeper. It seems like she's just giving an over view here, but I can see more. Like the specific actions parents can take to help to empower and grow a child. Giving children choices and making them decide and think for themselves. Allowing children to explore multiple things without the consequence of being told "you're a quitter" if you don't stick with any one thing. Giving children access to art, play, imagination, books, etc. The list here is endless. I think most parents (and that includes ME!!!!) don't know HOW to parent. They just know what they had in their childhood and they have some ideas for improvement. That's about it. Honestly, what TS is saying should be taught to every parent BEFORE they become parents. Parents need to be empowered by being taught HOW to be good parents. Yes, they'll make mistakes, but at least they can have a grasp on what's going on rather than just stumble around blindly.

Teal, my dad died last night. He had alzheimers. Can you please make a video about what happens to the consciousness when you have that disease, as so many do nowadays. Im so worried Im gonna get it to because of brainfog due to adrenal fatigue. Dazed and confused and so sad. ❤️🙏

My mother doesnt want me to practice austerity like a monk. It might be because she was very poor as a child which made her unhappy. Things have never made me happy though and all I ever wanted from her was respect, acceptance, and unconditional love.

This video hit me so hard. My mom and I both have the same Sun sign and Aries Moons. She was not allowed to be angry, it’s not lady like, became a narcissist and here I am a codependent except in romantic relationships I’m a Narcissist as well. I typically have no boundaries and was never allowed to get angry. When I went through my kundalini Rising and my throat chakra opened, I snapped at her after years in hiding and it shocked me and her. I feel so mad I was denied boundaries now. Like, I’m really pissed off! Thank You Teal ❤️

Haha! The scenario she gave is a little similar to something that I did to my child a few days ago. I saw a toad and decided to scoop it up to run inside and show my child. He stayed with me but behind me at a distance while I released it in an area that was safer for it near a pond in a garden, but did not care about looking at a toad at all, while I wanted to observe it's sounds and behaviors, colorful markings and investigate what type of toad it was as well as relocate it to a safer ecosystem than my back porch. He seemed to have very little interest in the toad at all. That example amused me and made me laugh.

I 100% agree that we can support our children’s desires and their essence by supporting their needs. What bothers me is that in other videos you say we need the negative and contrasting experience to actually understand the positive. That contradicts that we should support ourselves and kids in experiencing and understanding boundaries, presence, unconditional love. Which I believe allows for us to evolve and expand. But you say we’d need to experience not being loved, supported, negativity etc for us to understand real love ….. doesn’t make sense Parenting a child allowing them to stay true and close to their essence would help them evolve more than it would for them to experience abuse …

16:10…Discipline that adds to a child, rather than diminishes (takes away from) a child? Now there’s an idea! Until I heard this, the word “discipline” has always registered as a draining (-) vibration on the voltmeter of my life. But now, I have heard the possibility that “discipline“ could instead serve as a fulfilling (+) vibration. And now, we must all stand back, and watch the salvation of the Lord, which is the God of all comfort (and no discomfort at all).

my mother was someone who never got to marry the person she wanted to, so she emotionally tortured me anytime she saw any form of romanticism in me, which had turned me into a romance cynic for a big part of my life. I jumped into unlikely romances with low chances of working out because i didn't see the point in them. She was always adamant that she'll make me marry someone of her choice and not let me choose whom i want to marry, it was really fucked up. I've rebelled since and truly embraced my loving nature, but i feel like a slightly broken person in this context at present
