The author is doing quite a Guide for our foreign visitors but hasn't paid a grim to other beautiful places in Phuket ...... My late PT teacher in Hong Kong & his family were in Patung Beach during the worst earthquake in Indonesia - they escaped by taking the early flight out from Phuket but only found out when they reached Bangkok for a connecting flight. After several years, he pass-away from cancer. I stayed in the downtown Pearl Hotel several times & other top-class hotels with my Mom & I think, the GIG Hotel is not bad with wonderful swimming pool on the top - to see the beach. PHUKET OFFERS EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE! CONGRATULATIONS! from ' The City of Angel ', Bangkok.

I was in Phuket the second week of December 2019, and what struck me (a retired Telecoms worker) was the electric wiring in this place !!!! I can just imagine what my old trainers would do if I wired stuff like that , WOW amazing stuff

Sat here watching on a huge tv and was kinda tired i had one of those moments where you just space out for a few moments and your mind drifts i was teleported back to phuket and then it came crashing down seconds later when i realised i was in my living room in the uk watching your video. Only happens on your videos so top marks mate for giving me a few seconds of escape that are worth more than anything for me.

Crazy wiring, the only place in the states that I've seen wiring like that is Puerto Rico. I remember doing some volunteer work in the DR in a poor neighborhood near San Pedro and seeing just insane electrical wiring ... just this mass of wires that was crackling and popping constantly. Amazing to me there weren't more electrical fires. I know what you showed us was primarily telecommunication wiring but the electrical above it sure didn't look all that safe.

Nice hotel. You are close to Bangla Road so it will be very noisy every night until 6am. Almost all the music is generated outside or near outside. So maybe you want room facing away or get higher room etc. My hotel was even closer at only 2nd level but it didn't bother me since the slider was closed and I wore ear plugs. I was about one block away right on the beach road. Beautiful place I want to go back.

You made me laugh today. You stay in nice hotel and you eat a muffin and banana from 7-11 . But if you enjoyed fun and a lot of beer last night, I understand the morning after Ha Ha ! I used some of you recommended hotels in Cambodia and Vietnam. Thanks for showing us around. Like many others, I do not like Patong beach anymore but I appreciate your videos of the place.

I think the fall in tourism is in most part due to the slow economy in Europe. I believe the Thai baht is pegged to the US dollar, if that is the case it stands to reason it is more expensive for Europeans to vacation in Thailand.

@@mitchmoe6224 Not entirely. I've made some researches and planning before I will visit Thai in next month, this situation actually did pressured Thai government to lower the price of overall Thai. Several attractions such as Ayutthaya has been cutting down temples entrance fees significantly since last month. Not sure if people notice this, accomodations are slightly cheaper than last year not much though.

@@leongcm1998... I should probably pack a bag and head to thailand, I haven't been there in a few years. I'd normally travel that area a couple times a year, always making my way through Bangkok and Phuket to visit friends. I think it has lost a bit of its rustic feel of years past. I went full rustic mode in the Philippines last year while on a fishing trip and the talent was plentiful, extremely non-pro. You should check out Cebu city, it has the feel of Phuket 15 years ago.

i used to drive out of soi sansabai where that new yellow house and police man are now standing, there is a video camera there as well to catch up those which try weird moves 😂 this videos are golden infos for frequent travellers thou, cheers

Hotel looks ok for that price but there is better but i couldn't wake up to those green walls after a big night out,if you are still there,you must try Samarai restaurant,it's Thai and Japanese run by an amazing woman and her brother is the chef,best food i've found in Patong,it's 2 alleys down from Sansabai away from Junceylon,i stay in a great Hotel called Baan Paradise (9.2 on Booking) in the same alley run by an English guy called Marcus,it's the best location in Patong for me.

Is renting a scooter safe in thailand? I mean scam wise? I heard of stories before about rental scam like the jetskis in pattaya. You bring back your vehicle and all the scratches or damage on it is your fault. What's your take on it say in Phuket? Better rent from a foreigner i suppose. Thx

Gig hotel looks nice. I have never paid a "Joiner Fee"; what is that? Sounds like a con; sort of shock you get when staying in a hotel in Italy. It doesn't look like a "4 star hotel" but the price at 1600 bt is also not a 4 star price. However, it requires 500 bt extra for a Thai girlfriend that you might pick up to stay there with you. If you book two people for the room( I gather no extra charge) but do they ask for ID for the second person when you arrive?
