I stopped for a couple nights in Pachuca on my way to Mérida. I thought it was a cool town from what I saw and I absolutely loved the "macromural". I woudln't mind coming back some day.

Hello from Chicago. Pachuca/Real del Monte area is my paternal grandfather birthplace and is where my great grandfather settled when he arrived there from Spain. Spent many summers there as a kid. The clock or “reloj” was built around 1910 to commemorate Mexico’s 100 years of Independence. This is the main square. The Government buildings/Cathedral are not located in the main square Pachuca/Real del Monte is interesting because it is a mining town and it’s probably the only area with a significant English/Cornish heritage. Many buildings especially in Real del Monte are built in the Cornish style. Pachuca is the birthplace of Mexican soccer brought here by the English. It’s also famous for Barbados ( style of barbecue) and pastes. Pastes are meat and potatoes filled empanadas (known as pasties in English)and are the gastronomic contribution of the Cornish/English miners who worked the mines there. I consider the pastes as part of my heritage.

Hi from Texas. I grew up in Pachuca…….At 75 , I still miss it. I miss the pastes…..Wish I knew where to buy them here in the States. My sister and I attended Hijas de Allende on Avenida Juarez….now a parking lot. Regards, Les

Hi, I grew up in Pachuca. The El Reloj, is the El Centro. The heart of the city. The government buildings are scattered..Your supposition that the government buildings are found in the main plaza is more common in small towns. Pachuca being the state capital has grown by leaps and bounds; most of it growing south towards Mexico City. When I left Pachuca, it ended just south of Revolución avenue and Juarez Avenue; a large fountain was

Man, I love the blue sky at this time of year in central Mexico. It really sets off that mural barrio. Pretty! Safe travels!

9:44 is an unfortunate occurrence. I offer you an apology as a Pachuqueño. But that was how I felt when you started talking about how considerable the people were by using the diaper. So yeah karma. Thanks for showing me around tho. Peace

Cuando ese carajo en el mercado te saludó, te dijo "hola güero"... At least that's what I heard. That area around the first market reminded me of the market here in Alajuela (Costa Rica), but older. Plus the passageways in the market there are narrower than here. People in the streets are friendlier there than here in Costa Rica. I'm glad you're doing these sorts of roving posts in different towns. The neighborhood with the houses all painted in pastels is great.

Pachuca is pretty underrated. Its a lot safer, nice atmosphere, and cool place to do drone photography.

What about almond and coconut flour , is it hard to find there . For vegan diet

Hello! There is a small chain of stores in Pachuca called "SuperSoya" you can find all types of flours there. Actually at around 00:30 into the video, he was about 20 meters or so from a supersoya! There is also a mini vegan store called "Mr. Tofu" they have a couple of products from Daiya, beyondmeat, follow your heart, violife, tofutti, lenny&larry cookies, and a couple of mexican vegan brands. There is also a vegan restuarant next to Mr. Tofu called "Proyecto Vegano" You should be able to find just about everything!

Great video. I recommend you to visit Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco. It's a very beautiful town and if you have the chance you should also visit El agua Caliente, where the termal waters are at. Keep up the good work.

I enjoy your videos, thanks. How long have you been speaking Spanish? I've been trying to learn but my aging brain isn't doing too well with it! Would make it much easier to be able to communicate better with the locals.
