Jonathan Pait of LowCadence.com shows how to place a 58 cm Specialized Tarmac Pro into the back of a 2009 Honda Fit Sport. The Fit is Go! See this and more at lowcadence.com.
we get 3 bikes AND 3 people in our honda fit 2010. We remove front wheels,..lower bike seats,..stack the bikes with a pad or blanket in between, toss in the wheels and humans,..and bunjee the hatch or even doors if they won't close. We do this so much we're very practiced at it and can be out the garage in 5 minutes.
After watching your video, I was able to do the same thing with my Fit (with two bikes, in fact). Thanks for posting this! You saved me $400 that I would have spent on a hitch-mounted rack. :)
great video, i'm going to see if my bike will fit like this in my fit tomorrow, i've always thought it wouldn't so i've just laid it on its side all this time.
My 60cm Pinnacle is a bit too tall to fit in my 2013 Honda Jazz (Fit). And a bit too long to go in straight, but goes in at an angle with the seat post removed. But a quick release seatpost binder would solve the problem. Apart from that, I love my Jazz (Fit). Plus if I wanted to I could fold the front passenger seat, and the rear seats flat, and go for a sleep ;-)
Did you do a hard fit mount of the fork holder? My 56cms use a fork holder I mounted onto a 4" wide x 1/2' thick x 2' long oak board. a hard fit would be fantastic
Thanks. I am considering buying a used fit. transporting toys is its important function. my bike is a 50cm frame. I hope it will go in straight. Is the 2008 honda fit's cargo shorter? I know the 2009 has a longer overall length, but the spec does not mention cargo length.
Paddle shifters ROCK! If you buy a fit with ANY forethought of resale, GET THE FIT SPORT with paddle shifters! *And the wheel locks! I have pictures of numerous Honda Fit's on cinderblocks. The extra 4 you pay TODAY for locking wheels, is the extra $ you don't lose later on! 1) Replacing stolen wheels 2) Calling in "depressed" to work when you find your car on cinderblocks. Scratched!!!!!
Going through what vehicle to buy for my 58 and 56 road bikes, and the FIT is high on the list....did you buy the skewer part or make it.?...the video was great..thanks for doing that timely vid.
Yes. It is possible. However, when you do so you risk damaging the bike or knocking your derailuer out of alignment. I have done it, just don't prefer to do it.
You can slide the passenger seat forward and then lay the bicycle on its side with both wheels attached. I have actually found that I carry the bicycle this way more than with the stand... only you don’t have much room for anything else.
@@jpait @Jonathan Pait, Sr awesome! thats exactly what I needed to know. Thanx! Could I just ask .. is your honda fit a specific model or anything?.... i am about to buy a used honda fit,,, so I want to make sure that I get the right one? also I keep seeing honda jazz for sale (im in ireland). Ive been googling it and it seems that honda fit is same as jazz... but im not 100%. do u poss know? Thanks!
@@youareamazingyesyou5880 Yes. The Jazz is the Fit. Personally liked the styling of the Jazz better, but we don’t have them in the US. The configuration of my Fit was made between 2009 and 2014. I’m not certain, but I think the newest version is slightly smaller inside.
2 full size mountains bikes, 2 carry-on roller luggage from LA to San Diego and it sure cut time from walking. I'm wondering in the future about maybe switching for a different car because babies and kids if you know what I mean. :(
@@youareamazingyesyou5880 I think the newer ones its possible you just have to angle it a bit to fit it in. Lol fit. But Honda is going to stop selling the Fit in America 😭😭😭😭😭
Im a biker. I have a fit. But drilling those cover to mount the fork mount was'nt a great idea. I have my hatch tinted 5% and bike is inside bike bag. I leave it in the car all the time.
